Advantages: Ummm...Nice packaging, cheap and easy on screen navigation Disadvantages: Most of the information on this 'documentary' is incorrect, bias commentators
..., gruff characters of the late 1990's and early 00's instead of the newer but bland soap opera storylines and bimbo women who can't wrestle to save their lives.
There was one DVD in the stacks of boring, predictable WWE pay per views and events that stood out merely for it's name and caption alone - 'WWE Unauthorized' which apparently is 'totally unofficial and uncensored!'. Liking the sound of it and its supposedly dark and shady topics masked by the WWE for o so long, I paid and went on my merry way home to test the DVD's theory of being just that.
CONTENT & COMMENTATORS
The DVD is made up of six sections, chronicling the life and times of a company which has had its fair share of ups and downs from the very start. They are:
1: The Beginning
2: Pay Per View
3: Responsibilities
4: Underground Wrestling
5: The Montreal Screwjob

...Well this next review is more about writing about one of my favourite sports, its not really categorized as a sport in modern day media, because people tend to get the feeling that its just all one big scripted show, however I hope to insight some of the readers about why I watch this sport, why I like it and moreover why it should be treated with some sort of respect. This review is on the biggest sports entertainment enterprise known as the WWE, which was formally the WWF. WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment, and it has been going strong for over 30 years now, with a global fan base, and multi billion dollar empire.
I have been a fan for about 15 years now, and I must admit I am proud to be one, I always use to get ridiculed by my older cousins and to a certain extent some of my friends, the notion that this is all...

Review of WWF/WWE in general
Advantages: Lack of real wrestling but entertaining Disadvantages: You see a lot of who you don't want to
....
Everytime a WWE pay-per-view rolls around the title seems to be something so cliche that the wrestlers can spout the words out slowly in their bid to warm up the feud and promote their big match. Of course over time WWE have introduced such an amount of monthly events that they began to lose all meaning, although slowly these events are growing a reputation again to be more than just money spinners. WWE No Way Out is traditionally the wrestling promotions February PPV, and there was no change here, and to match that tradition there is usually the use of the words, "This Sunday, there is no.. way.. out!"
WWE No Way Out 2008 was the tenth ever NWO event, which first began in 1998 and has taken place every year since with the exception of 1999, where they had 'WWF St Valentines Day Massacre' in its place. To have match stipulations that meet...
Advantages: Great fights, Very entertaining, Great for WWE fans, Excellent quality footage Disadvantages: Extra Features are pretty disappointing (Apart from one massive surprise!)
...Yeah ok I am a fan of WWE. So what? I am just an ordinary 17 year old with little brothers who are obsessed with the show so I do have an unhealthy knowledge of the sport of wrestling. No matter who you are, you will know someone who has a secret obession to WWE, you don't have to be a teenager. It has been found that WWE is watched by many walks of life from OAP's to working professionals. Watching it is a fantastic way to kick back and let professional wrestlers do the most fantastic moves, follow exciting story lines and see their passion to be the champion. I found this kicking about in the DVD shelf so thought would have a watch and give a fab review!
Cyber Sunday is a fairly new idea from the WWE to try and get the audience involved in the matches. This means selecting competors, referees and match styles using an internet...
Advantages: Really Fun, Great Soundtrack, All the characters, Get To Create Your Own! Disadvantages: Quite Difficult
...1997. The first time I ever set eyes on the WWE (Then known as the WWF) franchise. The World Wrestling Entertainment is bascially a bunch of highly skilled men and women in the career of entertainment wrestling. Their prize, to be the WWE Champion. Every single fan has their own favourite star, duo and group of wrestlers.
Why Buy It?

Advantages: many marquee stars, Goldberg vs The Rock Disadvantages: too many filler matches

Advantages: Features some top talent Disadvantages: Needs more than that
...For everything that happens there is a reaction. Sorry, I'm so used to reviewing the Matrix after my double-bill last week that I'm over complicating things. This WWE event is Backlash, probably called that because some of the matches feature people getting revenge for what happened at the pay-per-view prior, WrestleMania. Backlash 2005 was the result of WrestleMania 21, where Batista defeated Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship. So it's April and Batista has only been champion for a few weeks, what's the likely thing to happen? HHH invokes his re-match clause.
The feud between Batista and HHH had been brewing for a long time. When Batista first entered the WWE I wasn't really watching, it was during a period where I thought I was too cool for wrestling and would rather be out underaging drinking and smoking, but what do...
...before I begin my abuse of this CD I want to make clear that I AM a wrestling fan so therefore am not simply dismissing it. Previous WWE entrance theme CD's, of which I have all bought, have been absolutely fantastic with high qualitys of music produced to a slick, effective standard. For me the greatest WWE CD was the WWE Anthology effort which was released in 2001 and covered the entire history of WWE entrance themes on a 3-CD set. This effort however, is a complete change from all previous efforts. 'Originals' is the WWE superstars themselves performing songs that were especially written for them, and to be quite honest, they do an awful job of it.
I hope that wrestling fans don't believe that I have something against the sport, because as I said earlier, I am a fan who is giving an honest opinion on an appaling record. The only...
Advantages: Some big, big matches Disadvantages: You know it'll disappoint
...In the short history of WWE's Vengeance pay-per-view big moments have happened. For example, at the very first Vengeance, Chris Jericho defeated both 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and, now Hollywood star, The Rock, in the same night to become the Undisputed champion. More recently popular '90s stable/faction, DX, made their comeback as the two man band of Triple H (HHH) and Shawn Michaels (HBK). As far as these monthly events go, Vengeance doesn't really bring excitement to the eyes of all the fans, however with an event to fill did the writers manage to do a good job of it?
Earlier in June 2005, the month of Vengeance, there was another WWE PPV. The cash really must have been flowing in for Vince McMahon. This was an event with a bit of a difference however, as it was the first time since ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) had gone...
Advantages: Some great title matches, surprising outcomes, and big names Disadvantages: Some of the first matches were a bit slow and at times not entertaining
...WWE Night Of Champions 2008 (June 29, 2008) was the second annual Night of Champions PPV hosted by the three brand shows of the WWE; RAW, Smackdown, and ECW. Live from Dallas, Texas in the American Airlines Center, the Pay-per-view held an attendance of 16, 151 people to see each WWE Title on the line in this well worked PPV. The Music Theme Song of the evening was "Devour" by Shinedown.
Each fued was settled in a title bout on this historic night. The previous week the WWE Draft took place, sending many wrestlers to other branded shows, giving some people their last chance to get their hands on the gold they were after. The main fueds heading into the Night Of Champions 2008 consisted of Triple H (Smackdown) and John Cena (RAW), and Batista (RAW) with Edge (Smackdown). So...what belts would end up on RAW or Smackdown, 1 each or both...
