First thing I noticed was they have changed the controls from the previous versions. It uses a new "Analogue control system". It's not easy in the beginning but after a while you pick it up. There is an option at the beginning showing you all the new way to use the "Analogue control system". The moves are made by the sticks, the left is for moving the wrestler and the right is for grappling etc. A small tip if you're not happy with the new system if you go to the options for changing your setup and go to controller and choose "type d" it goes back to the old buttons as in WWE 2006 :). ...of WWE. I have to admit having two brothers and having a boy orientated family has not helped, and we regularly watch Smackdown and Raw on Monday and Friday nights anyway. We had already S.Vs.R 2007 and 2008 which were great fun so it seemed logical to buy the 2009 version. Unlike a lot of games, this is still being released on PS2 which is great as it is more common for new releases only to be released on PS3 and it is great for us people who haven't made enough Ciao money to buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360. .... Some people don't like this, but I think it sounds pretty good. Something I really enjoy is that the announcers actually talk during the match. And it is really Tazz's, Cole's voices speaking. Advantages: New controls system (the Wii Remote), taunts and wrestlers.
Disadvantages: A little too easy in some parts, enjoyable for a few weeks - 1 1/2 months then gets a little boring.

...WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 on the Wii is a disappointment, to say the least. I myself am a WWE fan, but this game does not exactly fill me with excitement. Firstly, there are only 5 match types, while the PS3 and Xbox etc. get many more including Hell in a Cell and Ironman. Also, the lack of weapons is appalling. Take the Hardcore matches, for example. WWE has plenty of weapons, such as tables, ladders etc., and THQ only puts steel chairs in the Wii version. Disgraceful. On a more positive note, the controls are brilliant, swinging the Wii remote to perform moves on your opponent,though they do get a little frustrating at times. The commentary, however, is a little repetetive, with certain phrases being repeated 2-3 times during matches.The taunts are good, but do get boring after a while. ...THQ's WWE SmackDown! vs RAW is great wrestling game, but in this version of the game they did only few changes looking at the previous version of the game. the graphics are like the previous version of the game but is improvement at some areas. like the crowd, and the sweaty body of the wrestlers looks a bit real.
