X-Type Diesel - OK if you get a good one.

Advantages: Jaguar badge. Styling. Lots of options to play with.
Disadvantages: Very little equipment. Cramped interior. Some not very refined.

...I have to start by saying I don't own or run an X-Type Diesel, came very close to doing so, but then discovered the Accord Diesel and purchased that instead. I test drove one of the launch cars last year at Company Car in Action at the Millbrook Proving Ground. It was an option laden d Sport and looked superb in black. Very impressive was the overall refinement, I informed the Jaguar staff on the stand quite honestly that I would be replacing my much liked 2.5 V6 (petrol) Omega with this car. However my wife was not present to ride in this car and I booked a test drive with our local Jaguar dealer just for her to try it out before signing on the dotted line..... .....and what a good job we did try that second car! Review of Jaguar X-TYPE 2.5 V6

My X-Type after 12 months, 20,000 miles

Advantages: Good all round package - 4 wheel drive
Disadvantages: The styling may not be to all tastes

...I have a 3.0SE X-Type will all of the extras. Well not quite, I don't have the bigger wheels, 8 way seats, sunroof or JagNet. I chose the X-Type when I was able to leave our company car scheme. I had previously driven 3 BMW 3 Series models (1.8SE) over 6 years. The company car scheme was a 1 make scheme without any user choice. It was a great liberation to get free and be able to choose again. I had lots of fun choosing, I tried the Audi A4, BMW 330SE. Now I would also consider Volvo, Mercedes too but then I needed to move fast as I was actually without a car. The Jag was the best of the 3 cars I drove, the BMW being second and the Audi a far off third. Review of Jaguar X-Type 3.0

Nissan X Trail 2.2 cdi Sport diesel

Advantages: Looks, space,comfort, torque , fuel economy for big vehicle, reliability
Disadvantages: no cruise control, no on board computer (well I had to say something)

...I bought this vehicle in may 2004. It is a cdi sport 2.2 diesel with the 136 bhp engine. I paid £19400 for it which was a fair price but no bargain, this was because demand was outstripping supply at the time. Looks For me it looks the buisness, externaly the lines are good and the rear spoiler adds to the look. The interior needs a little getting used to as the clocks are centrally located and not behind the steering wheel which proves to be a good position for viewing the clock. Performance and handling This thing motors. The acceleration for such a big vehicle is awesome. It is great for overtaking and with the added visibility of being higher up I think it is all round safer to drive than a normal saloon. There is a lot of torque available and although I have not towed with it I would have no concerns towing caravans etc...

Vauxhall Vectra SRI 150 2.2 (150ps)

Advantages: Reliable, well built performance family hatchback.
Disadvantages: Some faults too common, it's a Vauxhall Vectra!!

Review of Vauxhall Vectra 2.2i Hatchback

AMD 64 4200+ X2 AM2 (2.2GHz) processor!

Advantages: Dual Core, Low power usage* and Fast!
Disadvantages: Motherboards can be costly for this!

...I used this processor to build a completely new computer for xmas (a present for myself ha ha!) and when i first opened the box it was the usual core. In the package there was the core, cool silver gel, heatsink (fan) and the instructions. I had to buy a new motherboard anyway but be wary the motherboards for the AM2 versions can be rather pricey but the advantage of AM2 means that a lower power usage and so a cooler processor and less fans needed! Also the AM2 board means that the memory accepted is the newer DDR2 RAM which is roughly the same price as DDR RAM but faster! Excellent! Installing the processor was little trouble and there were no problems. The performance of the processor is excellent, dual cores are excellent things! I bought this after thinking about buying a dual core pentium however they are very similar but...

Review of Honda Civic Type R

Frontera sport RS 2.2i 16v

Advantages: Great ride, comfortable, good performance, cheap parts, removeable hard top, feels very safe.
Disadvantages: Poor paint, EGR valve, impaired vision when reversing, fuel consumption.

...for the driver to access. The engine in mine is the Ecotec 2.2 16V. The X22SE engine. I have found fuel consumption to be on the heavy side, averaging around 20-24 mpg combined but I do have a heavy foot! The engine is strong and pulls very well. They come out of the factory at 134bhp as standard. You really do not need any more power than this in a 4x4 of this size. It will keep up with every day family cars easily and sits on the motorway all day long at 80mph with hardly any stress on the engine (3.5k revs). The 4x4 system is very responsive and well built. I haven't been off roading like a maniac but it has seen it's fair share of green lanes and I have not had to use the 4 wheel low gear once yet.
