I recently had a scare, when my trusty TomTom threw a wobbler, and I thought I would need to replace it, I had chance to look around, and remember looking at this particular model, mainly because it looked like my TomTom, I assume it was a copy. I am not saying this is a bad thing, let someone else decide what the customer wants and then provide just that.again, I am pleased to say my TomTom is in working order so I do not need to replace it, if and when I do however, I may well go for this model. At less than £90 it has to be a bargain. This is the cheapest price I could find brand new, so you could get a real good second hand bargain. The basic idea is the same as most of these gizmos, there is a touchscreen, a mains or car charger, a USB lead for connecting to a PC...

Well, I'm impressed.

Advantages: Easy to use and set up, clear instructions.
Disadvantages: Annoying voice that sometimes insists I'm speeding when I'm not!

...This is my first experience of owning a sat nav, but I've rode in cars equipped with satnavs from various manufactureres. I have found the ViaMichelin X-960 to be an excellent piece of kit. I'll get the annoyances over with first - the first one has to be that there's only two voices to choose from - an irritating schoolmistress and an american lady - both voices get on my nerves after a short while. The second annoyance is that sometimes it tells you off for speeding when you're not - most commonly on an urban 40mph road. Bar those two annoyances, it's a great piece of kit, and fairly easy to customise settings and the menu system is quite easy to use. It comes preloaded with all sorts of useful information, including restaurants that they've rated and I've discovered a few things nearby that I simply didn't know were good...

...for a relatively cheap but good monitor, and are concerned about using non-standard hardware. It does not support very high resolutions and the maximum resolution with good refresh rate is 1152x864. Perhaps you can get 1280x960 at something higher than 60 Hz but it will need some convincing....

Focusing is made by rotating the front of the lens and is a fairly simple process. The sotware is what you would expect, a facility of being able to capture video and still images which are stored in an album (folder) on your hard drive, from within the software you can e-mail the images and manage your images. one thing to note, the software defaults to still images the same size as the video (640 x480) - if you want the larger still image (1280 x 960) you have to change the setting in the software. My old cam struggled to give a picture in my study,as the curtains are closed and I only have a desklight. The microsoft camera, was excellent in low light...

...I have had my Olympus c100 for over a year now and its great. Its so easy to use,just point and shoot, you see the picture almost instantly so if you dont like it just take another. There is four picture quality settings: SQH = 1280X960 BEST QUALITY HQ = 1280X960 ALMOST AS GOOD SQ1 = 1024X768 GOOD QUALITY SQ2 = NOT GREAT AT THIS SETTING There is also four zoom settings: 1.6x,2.0x,3.2x and 4.0x but you can only get all four on the lowest quality setting, on the others you only get 1.6x and 2.0x. which i find a little annoying when I want a good quality pic from a distance. There are various settings for flash,red eye etc. I have found that on SQ1 with a 64MB smart media card I can get up to 300 pictures which would cost a fortune in film processing charges not to mention the price of the films in the first place...
