Advantages: Quality Build, No messing inside your PC, Bundled Software Disadvantages: Maybe a bit pricey.
...Having only a 52xCD rom in my rather dull (but quite adequate) IBM workstation I was missing the ability to burn cd?s backing up data important data that I could with previous machines.
Not fancying taking the lid of, and removing fiddly blanking plates - scraping skin off my thumbs, I decided upon the external USB approach, since like most, the PC is equipped with a fast USB2.0 interface.
The Iomega CD-RW 48x24x48x USB 2.0 drive appeared to be a good choice, Iomega being a well trusted and reliable manufacturer. I paid around £60 , but you may find it cheaper if you shop around. I did come across lesser brands with a similar spec at lower prices, but I felt they would lack the quality.
Upon opening, I was presented with a very solid piece of kit in a jet black finish. The box also contained a suitable USB cable, a figure...
Advantages: Compatable with huge range of Canon accesories, build quality, ease of use, loads of features Disadvantages: No spot metering, kit lens a little cheap
....
The standard kit lens does not feel as well built as my older USM ones, and this is an obvious cost cutting measure. However in use it produces good results. The LCD panel switches off when bring the camera upto your eye thus removing any distractions near the viewfinder. The display inside the viewfinder shows all neccesary information such as shutter speed, metering mode and apeture etc.
The battery life is good, I took a couple of hundred pictures at a wedding and still had plenty of battery life left. The 10 mega pixel sensor has a self cleaning feature and delivers pictures with a superb colour rendition. I've also engarged cropped images to poster size (36x24") without any loss of detail.
The camera comes with the standard photo editing and RAW processing software. I cannot comment about this as I've always used Photo Shop, and in this...

Review of Pyrex Oval Roaster
Advantages: lots of features Disadvantages: none found so far!
...We seem to get through DVD players in our house like there is no tomorrow. Either they end up with toast stuffed in them or they refuse to play half of our DVDs because there's a speck of dust on them. I think this is either the 3rd or 4th DVD player that we have had to buy in the last few years. What we decided we were after this time was something by a decent company. that didn't cost the Earth and looked fairly robust!
We purchased this DVD player from comet's website, it's priced at £69.99. I like Samsung products in general but hadn't tried a DVD player from them before so we thought we'd give them a go. What really sold it for us was the Divx playback feature.
The dimensions are 50.5x24.0x24.3(H/W/D)cm
This DVD player will play just about anything, DVDs, CDs, VCD, MP3s, CDRW, DVD-R , DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW . However, it does...

Advantages: Easy to use , Great photos, Neat and compact Disadvantages: None
...I have had the Canon 105 Zoom aprrox 15 months, and can say that it takes excellent photos.
It is neat and compact in size and weight, and is coloured silver at the front with a black centre piece; and is black on the back. It comes with its own leather case (with a strong Velcro fastening), and a long strap that is attached to the camera itself.
The instruction book, in 6 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Portuguese) is self-explanatory with a good table of contents.
The camera is operated using 1 Lithium battery (DL123A or CR123A, 3V) which is easy to load. I have not had to change the battery as yet and I must have taken over 15 x24 exposure films. There are many different features I have used on lots of occasions. These include:
Zoom levels of between 38mm (wide-angled) and 105 (telephoto) which...
