...I have been using an X-300 for ten years now and am still very pleased with the results I get, and its performance. In comparison with a lot of other cameras it is somewhat basic, doesn't offer particularly fast shutter speeds and is quite heavy. However as far as a good starter SLR camera goes, I would recommend it. It is well built, and the only problem I have had in ten years has been the wind...
Advantages: Easy to learn to use, cheap, gives good results Disadvantages: Limited features, can be difficult to purchase extra lenses etc, bit bulkier than modern SLRs
I have been into photography for over 10 years now, but only really used little compact cameras until recently. I bought the Minolta X-300 SLR camera when I started my A-level in photography last year. I have been very happy with the results it has given me in that time, despite the fact that it is rather limited in features compared to some other SLRs...
