...As a confirmed Dyson user I was ready to replace my model with the latest DC07 when a friend told me about the SEBO X4. For all their good points I have found that succesive Dysons have been heavy, fall over and break their handles, are messy to empty and over time smell despite the most clinical cleaning. Cynical as I am the SEBO is no looker and I was reluctant to resist the seductive modern colours of the cyclone vacuums as the X4 looks more like something that my mother used to use years ago! Despite my reservations I took the plunge, particularly as the prices are comparable. I will NEVER look back. To my utter surprise the SEBO would appear to clean BETTER than a Dyson, is much lighter, the tools are stored more easily, quieter, a dream to empty, does not smell! The down side is that you have bags to replace but these are cheap... Read review

...This game is absolutly amazing! After playing the game for almost a week, I've come to the following conclusions. The Graphics are completely astounding, and really help make you feel like you're truly behind the wheel of a souped up 4X4! The SFX are great. 4X4 EVO features every type of sound imaginable, including: enviornment, skidding, acceleration, car horns, and the "thump thump crash" of driving across a sand dune at 80 MPH towards a checkpoint! One of the greatest aspects of 4X4 Evolution is the "go anywhere" style the developers approached the game with. Sure, you could follow the predesigned paths and roads, but why not experiment with all different types of routes that you can take to win the race? Driving over mountains, through forests, through streams and off bridges is a great deal of fun that really adds... Read review

...Hi everyone, nice to be back and have some time to write again. I am going to tackle another pretentious issue as always, that of the proposed increase in taxes on 4x4s. The reasoning behind these proposed increases are that 4x4s have larger emissions than other vehicles and therefore pollute the atmosphere causing more green gases. At the moment the global warming issue is the latest media and government obsession, hyping the issue into overkill and building a public frenzy against anything that’s not carbon friendly. It appears to me that a large section of the media led public seems to be missing the point. The point being that 4x4s apart from being generally larger in mass than most family cars are no more guilty of worse emissions than many other vehicles. ...4x4 Evolution, hasn't really evolved at all from the old style of 4x4 trucking games, although it has a superb start up, the game is just one long boring road, much like 4 Wheel Thunder. The developers Terminal Reality have obviously tried to add a spark of originality and innovation into the game, but unfortunately, as with many Dreamcast racing games, this one is a right bore. Boring circuits - they couldn't even be bothered to design them with interesting layouts - some will put you to sleep! The 4x4 vehicles look ok, but most handle like hyper active elephants - very hard to control, awful turning and a disappointing sensation of realism and proportion. Graphically it's ok, nothing more, nothing less - they're better than PlayStation graphics, obviously - the DC is a 128bit console, but the game just doesn't feel right - it... Read review

Advantages: Big, fun, not as bad as everyone says

...I had a Vauxhall Frontera Estate Ltd. 2.2i as a company car for around a year and loved it. There are loads of write-ups on how bad the Frontera is, ... blah, blah, blah. Mine was great. It was a work horse - Even though it was only the 2.2i it could cope with a full load, roof box and 5 people. No, its not the fastest 4x4 by far and does wallow around due to big feet. BUT ITS A 4X4 !! I had a Mazda pick-up run into the side of me and caused major damage to his front end. The Frontera had little damage (a new door skin) for a side impact. I was very surprised and impressed. The switchable 4x4 system works well and the car is more than capable off road. The air-con is not up to much tho. Performance: Not bad for a big car with only a 2.2 engine. Fuel....uses a lot of it. Go for a matalic paint finish as this does not chip... Read review

...i have found it hard to find a small 4 x 4 that is actually a capable off roader, with towing ability for my horse! In the Freelander i have found a solution to my problem. Since driving a diesel engine Freelander all other small 4 x 4's seem to fade into insignificance. The car itself is well proportioned and especially smart in dark metallic colours, just try to avoid models with the sport bull bars and body kit as these look a litlle too tacky, and ruin the look of the car. If possible aim for an ES model, this is due to the high specification level including leather interior and CD auto changer! The car itself may look small and compact on the outside, but has a big 4 x 4 feel inside, especially when driving! The drive itself is particularly comfortable, the only slight problem i had is there is a slight body rolll on sharp... Read review
