...I purchased my Samsung X830 three months ago. Throughout the period of time I have owned the Samsung I have have had the benefit of the great functions this phone has to offer, yet also sadly have discovered the negative areas of this product. For anyone who is looking to purchase one I hope my breakdown of how I have found the Samsung X830 on a day to day basis is of use. Starting with the good points: For carrying around on a day to day basis, this phone is great. It is just the right size for fitting into your pocket or bag. The look and design of this phone is equally as good, you can always guarantee that someone will comment on your 'funky' phone. The Music player on this phone is superb. ...What can i say about the SGH-X830, I have always stuck to samsung for my mobile phones as its a brand i trust. or at least i did till i got this phone. I use pay monthly so i get an upgrade every year and when i saw the tiny pink SGH-X830 i had to have it, it looked so different and stylish and colour screen too. It has a great mp3 player, camera, video and also bluetooth however... The buttons are too close together making it difficult to text and even dial numbers. It doesnt seem very strong, i dropped it and it got a huge chip and also the circular button does not work anymore making it difficlut to access things quickly. The camera (which doesnt have a flash) is not very good qualitty. The ring tones arent very loud so i often miss calls tho it does enable you to download songs from your pc which makes it good... ...When purchasing my new x830 i was very excited about this new phone, everyone had been raving about it and early reviews had been promising. When i opened the box, everything that you need was there, USB, software, charger, phone etc. and the pohne its self was packaged well. I was surprised by the size of the handset its tiny! Starting the phone was easy enough, it turned on quickly. I find that the display is quite poor though, small and seems a bit cartoon like with the colours and menu icons. Next i tried the camera which was very impressive for a 1.3 megapixel, clear and crisp even when in poor conditions, but video is very standard and grainy. I then installed the software for transfering music which was easy to install, the transfer of files was quick and easy with minimal fuss and problems, but the phone seemed to slow down... ...The best thing about the Samsung SGH X830 is its appearance; unfortunately, the praise for this rather small phone ends there. The mp3 player is far to quiet as are the ringtones and the sounds provided with the phone clumsy and childish. The screen is far too small and narrow, even for those with perfect eyesight and the small buttons hard to use. The swivel is one of the nice touches of the phone adding character and is relatively easy to use. Although initially the two-column set up of the buttons is confusing after only a few hours you will be texting just as fast as you did previously. When I first purchased the phone one of my friends commented that she 'would find it annoying' and surprisingly I do not. Despite all the phones faults it really does have some good assets. ...I wanted a smaller mobile phone than the old flip phone and the Samsung SGH-X830 sure fits the bill. My Mum bought me this phone for my birthday and she paid £130 for it, which I have to say considering the first one went wrong in the first 2 months was not very good value for money. It is a really small phone that slides round to open. A lot of my friends at first thought it was a MP3 player, which of course is one of the many functions this phone has, but first and formost it is a mobile phone. The features include: ~ GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz ~ MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/WMA player ~ Video player ~ Flight mode ~ 1.3 Megapixel camera ~ GPRS, EDGE ~ SMS, EMS, MMS ~ 64 channels polyphony I must say that even though I love the look of the phone, I have already had 2 replacements and phone number 3 is now on the way out... ...I have just got a Samsung X830 in pink (blush) but it does come in other colours too! black and white, the phone is really small, when closed it looks like an Ipod shuffle just slimmer it's also about the same size. The phone and features When you open the X830 up you are presented with the key pad, as you can guess the buttons are a little on the small side and close together so at first you do end up going in to functions that you don't want to access but you do get use to it after a while. The phone has an mp3 player that takes your normal mp3 format but the X830 also takes AAC and WMA files as well, now I like feature and was one of the reasons (and apart from it being pink!) why I got this phone. I find personalising my phone much easier and faster, as were before on my old Samsung phone I had to convert all the music... Read review

...The Samsung SGH X830 is a slim line swivel phone which is very small and light weight. The size of the phone is W30 X H84 X D20 mm and its total weight is a small and impressive 72g. Some people may think that because the phone is as small that it may not be as good as some other mobile phones on the market, but this small phone packs a punch and is full of features. The mobile is not your standard Samsung slider or flip phone, the X830 is a swivel phone, basically you just push the side of the phone and it swivels round and doubles in length and in turn revealing the key pad. ...I think I'll start with the bottom line and work my way up; this phone is great if: A) You want to save money by not having your friends text off your phone because it's so bloody difficult with only two rows; B) You don't mind not being able to be one of those lovely people who insist on playing music on public transport (on account of the poor volume); C) You want a massive storage capacity for what is a very reasonably priced phone. It's not so great if: A) You have four fingers and a thumb; B) You like to listen to music through the loudspeaker rather than headphones; C) You already find texting difficult; D) You're looking for a good digital camera replacement. ...i puchased my phone off O2 as everyone i know is with them, the only thing is they only had this phone in white, which to be honest i would not recommend. The phone shows up any dirt and its hard to get off. You can get it in pink from the orange shop but apparently, orange have the exclusive rights to it in pink. I would strongly recommend black, as they dont show up dirt as much.
