Fujifilm XD Picture Card (128mb)

Advantages: Fast, Tiney Physical Size, Decent storage for price
Disadvantages: Not as wide spread as SD + Compact Flash

...The Fujifilm XD Picture Card (128mb) is a very small (aprox 1.5cm) Memory card used in most Fujifilm cameras. It was developed jointly between Fujifilm and Olympus to create the worlds smallest and very fast memory card, which Fuji dropped into their camera's to promote them. The XD picture cards have had an update in recent months where they got even faster, and can be distinguished from the older models by their blue writing (there are 2 versions of XD card, normal and fast) the older card is black with gold writing. The card i bought (128mb) holds enough for small cameras (1-3mpx) but anything over that its a struggle to squeeze all your images onto it, i get on average 30-50 images before i have to dump my memory onto a hard drive (at 6mpx). Good little memory card

Advantages: Fast write speeds
Disadvantages: Can be a bit fiddely

...I brought this for use with my Fuji Finepix S9600, as I tend to take a lot of photos first, and then delete those I dont like when I get back to the comfort of my own home, where I can decide which photos are best. XD cards are nice becuase of their small size, although this can make them a bit fiddly for people who have larger fingers, but easier to store, depending on what sort of cary case/card wallet you have for the cards. The write speed is quite fast, and is usefull for most photography, however, I would prefer to use a Compact Flash Card if I needed to take a larger number of photos. I would reccomend this for most people's needs, such as holiday snaps or a day out in the park....

A brilliant card with plenty of capacity

...Out of the 3 cards i own this is by far the best. It is easy to use has plenty of capacity and i think it is more compatible with my camera than the other branded XD cards. But first just a few statistics: if you have a 5, 6, 7, 8 or 10 mega pixel camera this card will hold 815, 675, 570, 500 or 400 photos respectively, which is obviously double the capcity of a 512mb card. You are also able to store at least 18 minutes of video on this card (best quality with sound) and at poorer qualities without sound you are able to hold nearly four hours. In terms of size and weight this card is no bigger than any other XD card and is smaller than other model cards such as compact flash, in fact it can be compared in size to a penny. Small card, small amount of strorage

Advantages: Small, easy to transfer picture on the PC
Disadvantages: Not a lot of storage

...I got the Fujifilm xD Picture card free when I bought my digital camera, a Fuji S5000. You can also buy the memory card on its own, I had a look around and it should cost you about £10 (probably even less if you shop around). Mind you if you are thinking on buying a memory card I wouldn't advise you to buy this one, Unfortunately you only get 33 pictures on low resolution (on high resolution you get 10 pictures). Apart from that I can't fault this card, it is extremely easy to install in the camera and once it is inside your digital camera you don't have to do anything except enjoying taking pictures! Once you have taken them it is quick and easy to transfer them on the computer (it normaly takes me less than a minute to transfer the 33 pictures). Small card, lots of storage

...I went on holiday a couple of week ago and so I decided to buy a new picture card for my camera as I had a 32MB picture card and I didn't think it would be enough. I bought it on the internet and it cost me £26.00 which I think is a very good price considering how many pictures you get. With my old picture card I could only have 33 pictures (low resolution) and 10 pictures (high resolution) but with my new card I get 275 (low resolution) and 86 (high resolution). I have set my camera on low resolution as I think the pictures look really good so I am well pleased that I can get 275 pictures. Before I couldn't make video as there wasn't enough space but now I can film for about 3m30s (I can't say much about the video making as I haven't use it at all).
