Xerox 8265 eco-solvent large format printer

Advantages: Good service & support, great print quality
Disadvantages: Too many mechanical problems - not reliable

...We are a studio based in Montreal, Canada. This is the 1 place I found where I can post a review on this printer. As rated, this product has poorly designed and hence I would never recommend a xerox large format printer after having been acquainted with 2 of them. Professionals are much better off with HP that are superior and quite more reliable. Here are the flaws I have to point out: - Mechanics that renders the daily use annoying: rear load of media requires a lot more working area - type of rear load not precise since printing a 10 foot ot more banner can get skewed at the end if media is not loaded completely straght into printer. Hence a non print margin of .5 inches can narrow down to nothing from start to end of print - "on" & "off" button is ridiculously positioned next to other function buttons on main interface...

Disadvantages: Around £30 to replace all the ink.

The print quality given by this Docuprint is very acceptable for a 2-year-old printer, and is certainly of a good quality. Obviously it is not of laser quality, but then what do you expect? From the printer control panel you can specify various options to make your print outs better or worse using such options as ink saver (worse), high quality (better) and photo quality (better still I assume but only if using the best paper around!) Recommended, if you can find one in as good condition as mine is! I would certainly look at a new Xerox in the future, as this model is a breeze to use! The only downside is that it can be a little noisy, but this is of little concern since the CD players...

Xerox 6100

Advantages: Easy to use, inexpensive ink, print quality
Disadvantages: slow to warm up, slightly loud

...I purchased this printer for the office a couple of months ago and it is a real winner. Works 12 hours a day, is quite quick in setting up new pages, offers much clearer print quality than I had expected for a colour laser printer of this price range, it is easy to use, didn't need time consuming training sessions ( easy double side printing too) and works well as part of the office net with four other PCs printing through it. More important perhaps is that the original replacement ink cartridges are reasonably proced too and that the ink cartridges last relatively long ( we print our logo together with the text or report so quite a lot o ink is used ). As negative point I would point to the fact that the 6100 needs quite a long time to warm up and that it does create quite a high level of noise. In any case I have since...

Top Notch Laser Printer for the Office

Advantages: Fast, Robust, HP Customer Support, High page yield, Serviceable
Disadvantages: Expensive official toners, Could be a bit more user friendly

The company I work for had decided to standardise all printers to cut costs on toners and so they didn?t need to buy so many different toners. The main printer in use was the HP LaserJet 2420N but this was discontinued and superseded by the HP LaserJet P3005 printers so I decided on this one. The P3005 printers come in several flavours. There?s the P3005 (no network), P3005N (with network) and P3005DN (duplex, with parallel connection and network). All of them have a USB connection. Hardly A cuteLaser

Advantages: Superb Colour Quality
Disadvantages: Bit big, bit noisy and a bit fiddly

...I've lived with ink-jet printers for years. Canon gave me the first bubble-jet and Epson have supplied the later models - various models of Stylus including C80, C84 and C86. They get heavy use for work and all have given some headaches with clogged heads. So a mixture of desperation and hope, together with keen pricing, has led me down the colour laser printer road. The Epson Aculaser may not be a cute laser, but it does work a treat. Specification ++++++++++ I'll not go into all the technical stuff, it is readily available from Epson's site or any of the dealers. But what you need to know is that this printer uses a laser and is a 4 pass machine, doing each colour separately. That makes it a tad slower than single pass machines... but much cheaper. It uses four toner cartridges - black, magenta, cyan and yellow...

Great Little Laser Printer for the Home

Advantages: Compact, Quick, Reliable, Good quality, Cheap Compatible toner
Disadvantages: Official HP toners expensive, No cancel button

...The HP LaserJet 1020 is a simple and compact black and white laser printer from HP. It superseded the LaserJet 1010, 1012, 1018 model s but as it has been out for quite a while, has itself been superseded by the LaserJet 1022 and maybe the LaserJet P1006 models, although mine is still going strong. The printer chassis has two shades of light greys and the body is quite curvy. It is small enough to fit in a book shelf, which is where I have mine. The trays stick out when extended but I fold up the paper feed tray when not in use. It only measures 370 x 242 x 209 mm so is probably one of the most compact laser printers you can get. I originally bought mine from Amazon for £45, which was an excellent deal but this printer usually sells for £60 - £100. INSTALLATION The printer came with a CD containing the driver. This is easy to install...

...I have been involved with Lasers since the early '80s mostly in teaching environments. They are very adaptable - having a series of different sized rigs to suit people of different sizes and ages. Being a strict one-design they are useful in coaching - the difference in performance being due to the sailor rather than other factors. Being one-design does mean that for serious racing you need to buy your spares from the manufacturer and there is no scope for tweeking outside very strict perameters. They are fun to sail, simple to rig and are suitable for improvers and above - you need to be fit and agile in higher wind strengths. The mainsheet can hook-up on the corner of the transom when tacking and (usually) gybing when you are reaching or further off the wind. The secret is to add in a roll and a flick of the sheet as the boom...

Also, it an input tray that can hold up to 150 sheets of paper at a time. It's monthly duty cycle is 5000 pages and it comes with an 8Mb installed RAM and 266MHz processor. The printer also comes wiht a black toner cartridge. This printer is stylish so looks very appealing whilst still being able to have many features to do the job properly. I have been using this printer to print out my coursework for the last year for school and it has never ocne jammed or stopped wokring. Just incas ti does, it comes with a 1 year warranty. =]...
