Reliable adapters, but not excellent...

Advantages: Reliable, lot of features
Disadvantages: Problems when installing on Win98 and WinMe

...Hello all, This is an opinion about the Xircom Ethernet + 56K Modem Adapters. Why ?Adapters? and not ?Adapter?? Well, because there are in fact two of the same, even with the same specifications. And I?ll start with presenting you these specs: 1. Xircom® RealPort Ethernet 10+Modem 56 GlobalACCESS (REM56G-10) - Integrated Type III PC Card connectors mean there's nothing to break, nothing to lose. But, in the same time, it will take the both slots in your laptop. Yes, you have everything on the card ? as network connection, modem connection and mobile connection (if you have the specific cables, of course), but keep in mind that a Type III Card take the both slots. - Connect using a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable in the office (this for Local Area Networks), you don?t need any additional dongle, just plug the network...

Review of Xircom RealPort CardBus Ethernet 10/100 + Modem 56

Very very good

Advantages: No dongles to loose or break, quality, speed
Disadvantages: Takes up both PCMCIA slots

...For some unkown reason, Compaq decided that they wouldn't put a network socket on my laptop - who is going to need to connect their laptop to a network eh? Obviously no one at Compaq, but for the rest of us we all do! Fortunatly my laptop has 2 PCMCIA slots that I hardly use so a PCMCIA network adapter would be ideal. The problem with these though are the fact that many of them have bits sticking out, or a dongle, or both. This would have been an absolute pain when lugging the laptop to and from Uni as I'd either loose the dongle, or break it, or the bit sticking out would get stuck everywhere and so on. Luckily I discovered the RealPort range of PCMCIA adapters from Xircom. The main advantage to these is that they have a full sized standard network socket on the adapter so there are no bits sticking out, no extra wires and so...

Xbox 360 wireless adapter

Advantages: Does exactly what is required of it
Disadvantages: too expensive

...The xbox 360 wireless adapter is essentially, exactly what it says on the tine, it is only required as a neccesity to get onto xbox live in a place usin a wireless network, microsfot have seized on this opportunity to charge over the odds for a small piece of plastic , retailing in the region of £60 , especially when you consider the nintendo Wii has a wireless adapter built in. As a product, the adapter is easy to install, clipping onto the back of the console, reliable and discreet, offering flawless online gameplay as if it were connected via ethernet cable. The only downside to this is the price and i for one feel it should be included in the console package to fully compete with other consoles...

Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter Network adapter

Xbox 360 network adapter, to buy or not?

Advantages: makes connecting to live wireless
Disadvantages: very high price

...i bought this for £50 second hand, and i found it very easy to use and it connected to my modem in minutes, but i know not everyone connects it as easy as i did, infact i couldnt connect it to my old router when i first got an xbox 360, so then i went for the ethernet cable method which is ideal if the router is in the same room as the xbox 360 because its much cheaper, gauranteed to work and normally makes connection better, but in my case i had a 30m ethernet cable running down my stairs which is not ideal! therefore when i bought my xbox 360 back i wanted to get it sorted with the network adapter. THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THE ADAPTER: its a easy method of connecting up to xbox live if it will connect to the router its small and as a nice slot at the back of the xbox 360 theres a light which is green if its working and red if its...

Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter Network adapter

Xbox 360 network Adapter

Advantages: Cute,Compact,Attachable
Disadvantages: Weak signal,Very expensive

...Microsoft and their proprietary products are poor performance, and too expensive. This adapter detects the same network my pc adapter detects but only 1 bar of signal. My pc adapter has 5 bars on the network. The xbox adapter must not have an omni antenna and the gain is probably 1dbi.I tried to opened this crap and put a higher gain antenna but the connector is a sub micro connector specially made for microsoft to screw us.I still could have rigged a better antenna, but i accidentally lost an ic chip trying to pry this thing apart, now there goes 70 bucks, never again. Fortunately i discovered linksys sells a universal game adapter (part number WGA54G),the adpater is also pc compatible, why isnt the xbox adapter pc compatible?Anyway, the linksys has an omni antenna and yes its removable to get a better omni. The signal is 5 to 15 times...

Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter Network adapter

Networking solutions for laptops

Advantages: compact, relatively cheap
Disadvantages: takes up 2 PCMCIA slots

...Back in the days when laptops were not built with on board network ports, PCMCIA was the only way to add a laptop to a conventional ethernet network. I bought my xircom card from a computer fair for just £20, back when they were a rareity. I got home and hooked it up, only to find although it advertises only using one PCMCIA slot, it actually takes up the room of two on most laptops. However, this prevents needing a short jumper wire from the card, the network cable just goes straight into the end of the card. A great feature is the two status lights on the top of the card which can be seen when the card is in use. One for connectivity, and another for traffic. This is especially useful if you are having troubles with your network. Th drivers for the card come included with windows 2000, however i had to download them for windows...

xbox 360 wireless adapter

Advantages: Works quite well most the time
Disadvantages: very expensive

...i got one of these because i didn't want wires everywhere in our house. when i first put it in it wouldn'tt connect up to my wireless router(linksys). i called up a help line and they said that they had no idea how to fix it so i ended up having to buy a new one (netgear). with this it works well most of them time but if it doesn't always work. i think that may be down to the router but it may be the adapter. anyway it works most the time pretty well. i think it is ridiculously over priced thought. When i got it it was £60. but i needed it because i didn't want a load of wires around the house. i thnk they are fairly good and work most of the time but are over priced....

Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter A must for all Gamers

Advantages: Easy to install, Works well, reliable
Disadvantages: Expensive

...If you enjoy playing online on your xbox 360 and your router is not easily accessible with wires then you should seriously consder getting yourself a wireless adapter. The Adapter cost around £50-£60 which I think is ridiculously over priced for what is simply a wireless adapter which generally cost aroud £10, but seeing as it is the only option for wireless gaming on the Xbox 360 then if you really want wireless it is your only option. The adapter was very easy to set up. You simply click it into place at the back of the Xbox 360 and plug the usb plug into the port, and adjust the aerial to face upwards for maximum range. Once you have the adapter in place and plugged in, when you turn on your xbox you will be greeted with a message asking you if you want to configure your wireless device to a network. Clicking 'yes' will bring...

Colour Adapt Perfection

Advantages: Blends well, value for money, shades for everyone.
Disadvantages: re-application sometimes necssary

...I bought this product from a local Boots store for only £7.50. I had heard that this was one of the best foundations there is, especially for my fair skin tone. They were right. This line of foundation has an extensive range of shades from the ghostly white to the darkest brown, a colour for everyone. I managed to find my perfect shade quickly and efficiently without the need for testers. This foundation I found was easy to blend even upto my hairline and the small cracks around my nose. The visibilty was just enough and it's coverage beautiful. It was noticeable and because it had adapted itself to my skin, it gave my skin tone a look of perfection. It is exceptional value money and I would reccomend it to any woman who struggles with blending their current foundation or finding their shade. Removing the foundation couldn't have been...

Review of Max Factor Colour adapt Foundation

Colour Adapt Foundation?

Advantages: good pump on bottle to aid application, long ;asting
Disadvantages: hard to blend, quite thick

...I went for a Max Factor Foundation as I knew the brand as was intrigued by the 'colour adapt' part of the labelling. As I had previously found it hard to find a foundation that matched and complemented my skin tone (I'm fairly pale in skin colour), this appealled to me as I'm always keen to avoid that over made up look. The bottle looked good, with a pump for easy application. I went for one of the paler shades, that looked to match my skin tone fairly well. The foundation itself was actually a lot thicker than I was used too, and quite powdery. I thought that this would be good as it would avoid the greasy look that some foundations had given me in the past after a few hours wear, The thickness of the foundation meant that I actually found it pretty hard to apply. It was difficult to judge the reight amount that would give me...
