Advantages: Reliable, lot of features
Disadvantages: Problems when installing on Win98 and WinMe

- Dimensions(WxDxH)/Weight-86 x 54 x 10.5 mm/36 g

Very very good
Advantages: No dongles to loose or break, quality, speed
Disadvantages: Takes up both PCMCIA slots
...on - its like there was a normal socket there. They only problem is that it will take up both slots to make space for the full sized socket.
The card its self is of a very high quality. It supports all sorts of special features like SNMP network management, BatterySave (tm) for increased battery life, and of course full 10/100mbps speeds (because this card uses the CardBus feature of the more recent laptops you really can get 100mbps, just make sure your laptop can support it). Another neat feature is the network status lights are integrated into the socket - when they are on it illuminated the actual plug so you know what is going on. Even just the feel of it in your hands suggest quality - its very solid and well put together unlike some PCMCIA cards I have seen.
I've found the card to be absolutely faultless and of great quality. I...

Networking solutions for laptops
Advantages: compact, relatively cheap
Disadvantages: takes up 2 PCMCIA slots
...Back in the days when laptops were not built with on board network ports, PCMCIA was the only way to add a laptop to a conventional ethernet network. I bought my xircom card from a computer fair for just £20, back when they were a rareity. I got home and hooked it up, only to find although it advertises only using one PCMCIA slot, it actually takes up the room of two on most laptops. However, this prevents needing a short jumper wire from the card, the network cable just goes straight into the end of the card. A great feature is the two status lights on the top of the card which can be seen when the card is in use. One for connectivity, and another for traffic. This is especially useful if you are having troubles with your network. Th drivers for the card come included with windows 2000, however i had to download them for windows...

An excellent modem
Advantages: reliable, fast
Disadvantages: None
...My ZOOM 56K V90 Dual Modem has been the best modem I have ever had. When I purchased a new machine it came with its own PCI modem, however this soon came out and was replace with my trusty zoom when I started getting cut off from my ISP. I regularly axchieve speeds of up to 52K and with a usual connection at 49,333 bps.
The modem is fitted internally and has been in service now for almost 2 years without any sign of breakdown. Trusty, reliable and fast are the best way I can describe it. With a Flash Circuit I can even upgrade it should the need arise.
A great modem at a very reasonable price.
Customer support is excellent too....

Aztech's classy modem
Advantages: Works perfectly as a fax, dialup and along side broadband
Disadvantages: Features you can't use or find
...technology and it works well as a fax. I've never had any problem with it whenever I've used it. It hardly ever cuts out and gives you uninterrupted internet/fax time as long as you have the program to Fax and use the Internet.
The maximum transfer rate out of this modem for the Internet is 56 Kbps and the maximum for the fax is 14.4kps. An interesting feature is the modem can tell you when you have a phone call so you can configure the PC to alert you that you have a phone call and it will on your specification, either disconnect the modem or not. Although, I know about this feature I've never figured out how to use it yet and now I have NTL Cable modem and don't use this modem to connect to the Internet anymore through broadband nor dialup, I don't think I will find out.
The modem cannot be used in DOS modem which is a shame for old computer...

Great modem
Advantages: Diagnostics if something goes wrong
Disadvantages: None
...was not lit, so although I had a broadband connection something was going wrong somewhere along the line.
The netgear also has a diagnostics page which you can access on your pc and from that I saw that the speed was very slow and there was a lot of noise on the line. So this was evidence for vodafone to give BT engineers who came and found my phone line was broken at the telegraph pole.
One new phone line later and everything is well.
The modem is white and comes with a stand so it actually stands on end and takes up very little space. It needs to be plugged into the electric and connects with via ethernet....

Diamond 56e Pro External Modem
Advantages: High Build Quality, Fast, Good Drivers
Disadvantages: Serial Interface, Needs 240VAC power
...from server to client) will increase and make the game jerky, plus if the game only just runs, then the extra 5-10% toll on your CPU may rob you of precious frames making the gameplay horrible. I experienced this many years ago with Half life on a low spec computer with an internal PCI winmodem.
And since I wanted to play a lot of games online at the time, I decided that I should not skimp on the modem. I bought a Diamond SupraExpress 56e for about £80 (it will be a lot cheaper now). This was a fair bit, but definately worth it and I'll explain why:
The installation of the modem was simple. I plugged in the phone, data and power jacks and powered up. It was detected and installed automatically.
I connected to the internet and began browsing sites, and quickly found software I wished to download.
I was originally disappointed by...

Excellent 56K External Modem
Advantages: Fast, cheap and well built
Disadvantages: Poor technical support on Creative's webpage.
...Having stuck with my 33.6K modem for far too long, I decided it was time to take the plunge and buy me a decent external 56k one. After browsing through a number of e-tailers stocks of modems, I cam accross the Creative Modem Blaster 56K which was extremely well priced. For around £50, you get a well built, quick 56k modem that does everything the box says it should.
Installation was a breeze, connect to your serial port, insert CD-ROM, done. Since then, I can honestly say I've not had one problem with it, connections are fast and reliable and that's as much as anyone can ask from a modem.
The unit is also flash upgradeable, so once the new V.92 standard is agreed, upgrading and getting a further speed boost should be no problem.
If I had to point out a failing, it would be Creative's support with regard to this product...

Internal 56K Modem from Creative
Advantages: Easy to fit, good software package included, good brand
Disadvantages: only one line in - no audio sockets or line out
...From the well known Creative (SoundBlaster) stables comes this internal V90 PCI 56K modem. Complete with cable, drivers and some usefull software - Mediaring talk, Quicklink Message Centre and Bitware fax/communications.
It only has a line-in socket on the back so you cannot 'daisy-chain' your telephone from this modem.
I found the card easy to fit and configure and was up and running in less than 10 minutes - just fit the moden into your case and boot-up, Windows discovered it had new hardware installed and then asked for the location of the drivers, I pointed it at the correct directory on the CD drive and that was it!
It connected first and every consequent time at a minimum of 48K and once at 50.3K
Good product well worth considering for home use....

Punches and kicks fill 56
Advantages: great mix of styles
Disadvantages: none
...ABOUT MIXED MARTIAL ARTS:
MMA is a relatively new sport, whereby fighters from all different styles and disciplines compete against each-other. In the early days, this often meant you would see a karate expert fight a boxer, but these days the competitors in MMA tend to have a wide range of skills in every area, with a specialty in one.
ABOUT THE UFC:
The UFC is the biggest business in the mixed martial arts game; there are others, but the UFC currently holds the monopoly on the emerging sport. They put on monthly events where their roster of fighters battle it out in a cage in bouts of three or five rounds, each lasting five minutes.
ABOUT UFC 56:
UFC 56 was the November 2005 event that the UFC hosted in Las Vegas. It featured a night of fights, and you could either buy tickets to see it live, or buy the pay-per-view to watch...
