Straight out of the box the camera seems impressive. The build quality is good and each camera component feels strong and well built.
The supplied user manual leads you through the step-by-step assembly of the camera although some of the stages are not explained very clearly. However, the connection of each of the camera's components to the main body is very logical and could be undertaken without using the manual.
Once assembled the camera does feel quite heavy with the centre of gravity leaning slightly towards the front of the camera. Initially this is not a problem but with prolonged hand-held use the camera can start to feel a little too heavy.
The camera provides 3 1/3" progressive CCD sensors...

...In order to satisfy my technological needs and not having had a product to review in this genre for nearly 6 months now I thought I had better purchase something?well that?s one of the excuses anyway. With an impending move ahead of me back to my hometown Norwich from Leeds, I decided to leave my old single region DVD player, despite its smart style, with my girlfriend who didn?t own one. Scouring the Internet revealed a possible successor: the Yakumo DVD Master XL2. Amazon seemed to stock these little beauties at £35?. yes that?s right £35!!! Now I had Amazon vouchers to the value of £20 and was almost stupefied that I could get this delivered for a sum total of £15 with Amazon?s Supersaver delivery? not bad but there had to be a catch, didn?t there? Surely £35 meant that I was buying a budget item that either wouldn?t work properly...

Advantages: Highly affordable Multi-Region DVD Player Disadvantages: Bulky looking remote control
...I recently purchased a region 1 DVD from America but was unable to play it on my JVC player as it was region 2. After many hours of trawling the net looking for access codes I eventually decided it was a lot less hassle to buy a multiregion player-another £150 I thought. How wrong could I be? For under £35 with free P+P I decided on probably the cheapest Multiregion DVD player around. When it arrived I couldn't believe how thin it was compared to my JVC, under two inches wide with a nice chrome style drawer. The general appearance of the XL2 puts my JVC to shame, with an array of playback features including DVD R, DVD RW, VCD, SVCD, JPG-CD, MP3, CD, CD-R and CD-RW to mention a few. The picture and sound quality are excellent and they even give you the batterys for the remote and a scart lead. So if you want a quality multiregion DVD...

Review of Yakumo XL2
Advantages: Multi-region, good audio/video quality, very low price, lots of features, player seems well made Disadvantages: Remote control could be better, MP3 player a bit buggy
...I have used lots of cheap electronics in the past, they usually do work but they look cheap and hardly have any features - this however is different.
Not only does it do everything it's supposed to do perfectly (I've played Region 1 and 2 DVDs on it, Audio CDs and CD-Rs, MP3's and PhotoCDs) it looks quite good (if a little square) and seems well made too. DVD video playback is perfect (as good as the best I've seen) and it can output in PAL and NTSC. However although perfect quality the sound output on DVDs is a bit quiet when compared to TV broadcasts and videos but I haven't used another DVD player on my TV so this could be true for all DVD players. The instructions are pretty good too.
The real only problem I've noticed is the MP3 player sometimes mis-labelling tracks but this could've been just the CD I was using and its...

Over the years I have played with many colours, but always found that lighter colours left me with a ginger tinge, or, even more unpleasantly, with a nasty yellow. Recently, I took the plunge to going completely blonde (BTW, the photo on my profile dates from before then!!!). My first attempt used both a pre-lightener and a blonde shade produced by another well known company. Once again, despite having paid twice over (because two products were required) I ended up with an uninspiring and artificial yellow and my hair looked very out of condition. Finally, I experimented with Herbal Essences Extra Light Brilliant Blonde (shade XL2). This does not require any pre-lightening. The result surpassed every expectation.
