...Lets face it - 90% of PC users use a Microsoft OS (operating system). The vast majority of those will be using XP. So you're not exactly going to be alone if you do decide to buy this. So, is it a good idea to go with the masses? Yes. Unless you are really techy and know software and hardware as if it were your job. Then you might plump for Linux or something similar. XP was released ages ago - about 2000 if memory serves correctly. As someone who started out on DOS, moved to windows 3.x, then Windows 98 and then XP (via Millenium for about 1 month ;) ) then I've had a history with OS's. XP is by far the most reliable - providing you do things properly then there is generally no problem. Amd Athlon Xp 2000

Advantages: Great Value With the power you need for gaming.
Disadvantages: Overheating.

...Amd have been leading the market for cpu's for the home and office user and now they have the xp range with lots more commands for all you gamers. The xp 2000+ seems to be the most popular chip on the market at the moment. I build computers for friends and for family and i also work for a leading computer company so i use alot of these chips and i can say that this seems to be the most popular by far. The only problem i came across with this chip is that it gets hot very quickly which can be sorted out quite easily by getting a decent fan. The amd boxed retail version of this cpu comes with a fan which in my experience is rubbish and doesn't keep the cpu cool at all. ...Windows XP, my one and only ever operating system! I have tried Mac and tried Vista on other computers, and i don't think they compare to XP! Vista is trying to be an Apple product, and i don't think you can enjoy a mac after years of Microsoft!!! I love all the hidden features of it and trying to figure stuff out with it! Admittedly its a very dated OS nowadays but millions of computers still use it! It's a powerful operating system and it's good at what it does! Fair enough there are bugs in it still that need to be eliminated, and it is prone to viruses unlike an Apple Macintosh but i think what XP needs more than anything is a second release, exactly how it is but with all the bugs eliminated! XP2 =] Because no amount of Special Packet updates can fix an operating system! It needs to be independently and professionally improved...

Upgrade Immidiately to MS Windows XP Professional

Advantages: Easy booting, less crashes, much faster and yes user friendly
Disadvantages: Dual boot becomes a problem

...Windows XP Prfessional is an OS which works equally well for novices, enthusiasts and corporate users. True it has got a bit high system requirements like a Pentium II-300 or upper, at least 1.5 GB free HD space and a RAM of 128MB or up word yet I would say it is a necessary upgrade from Windows 95/98 or even for that matter from NT/2000. It?s far more reliable much faster, safer and when you get used to it, very user friendly. Installation is easier and takes 39 minutes if you full fill the system requirements. The best part is that you have whole range of features which are really very help full.I really liked the fact that my digital camera can be directly hooked up into it, the expirence is worth the time spent even the movie maker, for that matter with it own movies can be created with video clips from the handy cam and to top it...
