Citreon Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI SX

Advantages: Excellent family car, practical.
Disadvantages: Not very interesting drive

...I originally brought this car for myself after chanig my Audi A4..... what a mistake.....( bare with me i'm not really slagging the car off).. after finding out my wife was pregnant with our daughter i looked at something on the practical side, i didn't want an MPV as i think there a waste of time(yes you have seven seats but no boot space, takes the back seats out and your left with an oversized estate with two two seats stuck in your dining room!!!) any way i decided to take a look at the Picasso it was quite a decent looking car big enough for the kids nice high driving position plenty of room. So i went to my local Citreon dealer and saw the one i ended up buying. Mt citroen Xsara Picasso

Advantages: Raise the drivers seat up, lots of storage space
Disadvantages: have problems cleaning the roof, or scraping the windscreen if you are short

...I use to own a citroen saxo, and was never going to have a big car, I thrn had a child and my decsion was changed for me, I needed the extra space that the xsara picasso offered. You have the four door bins and a suitable size glove box, as well as the boot space, as do most cars, but when you look in the boot, on the passenger side you will find extra storage hidden, in which I can hide my St john ambulace bomber jacket, and because the boot has no lip, I don't have to lift my childs buggy over, I can slide it in level with my hips. Then in the back on the floor behind both the drivers and passengers seat are another two storage compartments, in which I can keep my car emergencey kit, plus the three seats in the back are all spilt and individual, with their own over the shoulder seat belts, (no lap belts hooray!!) the middle...

Advantages: space and easy to drive

...i brought a citroen xsara picasso just after my baby was born as my other car wasnt big enough to get anything else but the pushchair in the boot. i used to have a renault clio which i loved and i was worried about driving a bigger car but there was no need as a picasso is easier to drive and has loads of room in the front and back easy to put the seats down to create more room lots of drinks holders in front and back and i the doors so hopefully no sticky car food trays in the back for the kids easy to use controls and you can view loads of information about how many miles you can do to the petrol already in the tank your average speed how many miles left until a service is due a/c electric windows and mirrors definatley a family car and since purchasing this car i have realised how poular it is and a few of my friends have one too...

Picasso Perfect.

Advantages: Like sitting in an armchair with the TV remote in your hand.
Disadvantages: Absolutely nothing.

...I am going to write this review as someone who does not understand the technicalities of a car but as someone who just wants to get in and drive (are you with me ladies?). My birthday present this year was a 51 reg Citroen Picasso SX HDI. After messing about with the figures, Reg Vardy (whose customer service was second to none by the way) managed to get the price down to £6200. With only 41,000 miles on the clock it was absolutely immaculate inside and out. A funky shaped car, this is very different to anything I had owned before. I was a bit nervous at first as it seemed quite big (well compared to the Corsa I had traded in for it it was). Avoid Tax - buy a Picasso

Advantages: Low tax rating with good specs
Disadvantages: Some think Picassos need a makeover now

...virtually flat right through. There are several different storage places inside, the neatest being two large boxes under the rear passengers feet.! There is quite a good slide out box under the driver's seat. The battery sits under the front passenger seat, so there's not much room there. For comfort there is air-con, heated, electric mirrors, CD player, leather steering wheel and folding armrests up front. For safety, there is ABS plus fog lights, and plenty of air-bags. 4 Want A VTX ? There are those who think the Xsara Picasso range is a bit long in the tooth. Even Citroen themselves have been thinking that way, and are well on the way to producing a completely new range sometime later this year. However, I like the fact that this range is well tried and tested. The buyer benefits from the long run that the Picasso has enjoyed...

Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI SX (2001)

Advantages: Seat flexibility & movement, nice high driving position, cheap tax
Disadvantages: Side visibility, driving in windy conditions, back seatbelts

...Had a Picasso for just under 3 years. I purchased it because I had my third child and needed a car which would be practical with three car seats. The Picasso is great for this, especially because there is no "bump" in front of the middle back seat which means whoever sits in the middle can put their feet down flat on the floor and the kids can walk through from one side of the car to the other easily. There are tables on the back seats which were great to put a portable DVD player on when on long journeys. The three back seats can all be individual moved/removed. The only problem I found was that the seat belts are very low down in the seats and with three car seats this can be a bit tricky. You would need to buy narrow car seats to make it easier for belt fastening. The driving position is lovely and high with light...

I'm sticking with my Picasso!

Advantages: Spacious, comfortable, nice drive
Disadvantages: None so far

...Now, my review doesn't go into the technical details coz I haven't got a clue! But this is the Citroen Picasso as I see and experience it... We have had our 53 plate Citroen Picasso 1.6 for a year now, and I love it!! The first thing that stands out in my eyes is the cool streamline shape. It's different to anything currently on the market, without looking silly. Before the Picasso I had a Ford KA...so I couldn't have gone from much smaller to much bigger! I was a little worried, coz the front and back seem really long, and I was worried about scraping other cars, walls, etc. But honestly, it's alot easier to judge parking than you think. Like with all cars, you park, then get out and see how much further you could've gone...after a few months of doing this, I can judge the downwards sloping bonnet and boot very well...

A Canvas for Picasso

Disadvantages: A wee bit thirsty in town; a couple of visibility problems

...Canvassing support for the Picasso from Citroen, is easy work. It is a distinctive car that speaks for itself. The number of reviews, and the positive nature of most of them, makes the point. But let me paint my own picture for you. ( Not a bit sorry for sick puns ! ) My Purchase = I was changing from a Fiat Punto, and unkind commentators may suggest anything would be an improvement.! However, I have had a number of Primeras, Bluebirds, Marinas and such like, so I know the big cars, as well as the small. This Picasso was 6 months old, so nearly new. It was around the £9000 mark, though I wanted alloys and paid for Citroen's own set, which was a few hundred extra. The car is in black, and is the 1.6 Desire edition. My Drive = Squeezing my oversize, 6' 2" frame into any car, tests its interior space...
