...This review is about the Yamada PVR-500 not the PVD-500 as this category suggests. I don't know what the difference is since they look exactly the same and appear to have the same features but just so you know,.... I own the PVR-500. Readers of my other reviews may be aware that I spend a lot of time away from home, mainly with work. Currently I?m in US waters (dodging hurricanes) and the DVD player on the ship only plays Region 1 (US) DVD?s. Obviously this is a problem for me, since I like to watch DVD?s from the good old UK too. The solution was obvious,.. a portable multi-region DVD player! But which one? ...I bought my Yamada DVX 6600 last year at around £70, this was when DVX dvd players were starting to be used. I'm sorry but i cannot remember where i purchased my player from but it was from a online shop off the net, so i guess they are easy to find. Well, what can't the Yamada play?? i don't know because my Yamada can play everything ive tried, from dvd's, vcd's, jpegs, wma, xvid, dvx. The Yamada is supposed to play 99% of movie fromats but up to now mine has played 100%. ...General I have had this DVD player for around 3 years now, I got it as a Christmas present from my dad. I don't think it cost too much, only around £40 and that was 3 years ago, probably a lot cheaper now. I found it very easy to setup you simply attach the scart lead to the back of the DVD player and then to the TV. Obviously put the plug in. As soon as I turned the power on the DVD player my TV automatically went to AV and it was ready to use straight away. It was the same for turning it off simply press the power button and it goes straight back to the TV. Its very women proof. I spoke to a friend who recommended the Yamada 2600 dvd player, he said he had purchased one over a year ago and was well pleased with his. Disadvantages: Well, there are some songs that none of us like...

...The year was 2001. Where I had no taste in modern music at all. (And I still don't to be honest). A 'French' house song reached number 2 in the UK Charts. The song was Starlight, and in all my life I had never heard a song as good as that could bring me in a happy mood. Considering that I think that Starlight is quite underrated, it didn't get enough fame - it only reached number 2. That made The Supermen Lovers a One Hit Wonder. But Starlight stayed in the top 10 European charts for an outstanding three weeks. But that still didn't give it enough attention. I think that people should reconsider that Starlight is a great pop song, it got me into more of The Supermen Lovers songs that I admire myself.
