2006 Yamaha R1- quickest way from A to B

Advantages: Wonderfully refined sportsbike, Looks ace, great comfort for a sportsbike
Disadvantages: Desirability, likelihood of theft, high insurance group

'99 R1 rocks the road for me!

Advantages: Quick, Fast, exciting to ride and stylish.. as well as Japanese and reliable!
Disadvantages: Twitchy front end on earlier models, needs stearing damper.

...I own a 1999 Yamaha YZF-R1 (1000cc) in V&M custom race colours (Red/Yellow flames and sponsors). I bought the bike just short of two years ago for approx £4,000 from a dealer. The bike had only done 4,500 dry miles (genuine as a good friend knows the previous owner) and the bike was/is in mint condition. It had been pampered, the previous owner is pretty well off and used this custom painted R1 as a show off machine more than anything, so straight away I knew I was on to a good deal as a lot of R1's have been thrashed and trashed since they are such a nutters tool! This model of R1 is not fuel injected but carbs, however my father does have the 06 fuel injected model and after a week or so standing in the garage and even after cold weather both bikes start first time, no hassle be it carbs or fuel injection! 2002 fuel injected R1, relatively cheap to run

Advantages: Cheap(ish) running costs, looks fantastic,fast
Disadvantages: sometimes can be too quick

...I've had my 2002 fuel injected R1 (5PW model) for a year now. Have had CBR6's for 10years previously, so was a bit worried about spending loads on tyres/petrol/insurance ect. 1st nice suprise was how cheap insurance is, i only pay £120 a year. I had been thinking in the range of £250-300, so was pleasantly suprised. 2nd suprise was fuel economy, around 50mpg on commuting, 40mpg on fast weekend hacks, and still returns over 30mpg on trackdays, so it comparable with my CBR600's. 3rd, tyres. It came with Pirelle Super Corsa's when i got it, and 4000 miles later, theres still life in them yet. I hope to get another trackday out of them before i replace them, and they may see 4500 miles. Obviously, with something like Michelin Pilot Powers, i reckon i will get 5-6000 miles out of a set. So, really, its suprisingly cheap to run. I...

The Yamaha Blaster - The small contender

Advantages: Lightweight, powerful 200cc two-stroke motor, proven over time
Disadvantages: Wheel base and width cause instability in some situations.

Advantages: Lens, viewfinder, picture quality
Disadvantages: Big, heavy, limited zoom, discontinued but still available

...My experience over 2 years with my DSC-R1 has been almost universally favourable, so much so that I bought a second one as a spare. 90% of the time I use it for landscape and architectural photos where that superb distortion-free 24-120mm zoom lens makes me glad I did not buy a DSLR. I am occasionally asked to photograph gymkhanas, dressage events and find though that the electronic viewfinder is rather slow for following rapid movement. A pity this review will be no use to anyone because the camera has long been discontinued ( too big, too heavy, not enough zoom...). I got the feeling that this might be the first of a range of all-electronic interchangeable lens cameras, doing away with those horrid clanking mirrors and pokey viewfinders on the then current DSLRs. Advantages: easy to operate, good second hand value

You can get cheaper ATVs but what has to be thought about is the second hand value in two, three or even five years time and Yamaha seem to consistently hold their value, look on ebay for second hand ATVs and the 125 Yamahas will never be less than £800 to £1,000, not bad for a bike costing £2500 new!! Need to wait a couple of years to see if the Polaris equivalents will hold their value as well. One factor that should be thought about before buying a Grizzly or in fact and quad bike ? Where are you going to Use it? If you have legal access to a significant piece of ground, say 500 acres you should buy a bike. If you don?t really think hard about it. The new legislation in the UK giving a ?Right to Roam? access does not extend to vehicles with engines. So you have to get permission from a landowner for access to their ground, easy enough...

Yamaha CP300 Stage PIano

...Other than from an economic angle, I was never a fan of Yamaha acoustic pianos. So back in the 1980s it came as no surprise when their digital instruments failed to impress me. In my opinion Yamaha pianos sounded too 'wooden' at the top end. They had none of the 'singing' tones common to European pianos like Blüthner, Bösendorfer or Bechstein. However, after moving into an apartment in 1996 I was obliged to get a piano that took cans and chose a Technics PR900, which in my view was the nearest thing to an acoustic piano. It sounded like some of the best German pianos I had played. Early incarnations of this model had a very annoying background 'static', only noticeable when the piano was silent. By 1998 this static had been fixed by Technics. But in 1996 it was driving me so crazy that I sent the PR900 back to the store and got...

yamaha descant recorder

Advantages: easy to learn
Disadvantages: none

...it as a kids instrument, but I still like to play the recorder even now. You can buy a descant recorder in toy shops or from a music shop, for approx £10, this includes a begginners guide to get you started, also they come in a range of different colours. There is loads of interesting music you can play on a recorder, I remember looking at a book in the music shop and there were songs that Boyzone sang in it. They music books vary in price, (£5.00 upwards) In my opinion a Yamaha recorder is the best one to by, well thats my opinion anyway I have done this review on Dooyoo Thanks for reading...
