Yorkshire Tea - Pricey but Nicey
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  jouk04

Advantages: Yorkshire Gold is the Best
Disadvantages: overpriced

...Yorkshire tea for Yorkshire water, that is what they used to say on the advert, for Yorkshire folk, as well I think. The advert was a load of twaddle, but I must say I do like the tea, coming from Yorkshire I suppose I ought to if the advert is to be believed. There are three varieties of Yorkshire tea, they are the ordinary Yorkshire tea, Yorkshire tea for hard water areas (anywhere south of Yorkshire maybe) and Yorkshire Gold the premium tea just that bit more special, and a bit more expensive. The first is regular Yorkshire tea, personally I do not like it, it has no real flavour no body no after taste, fullness, you name it, its really not worth the money, and even the ordinary tea is a bit more expensive than other everyday tea bag teas like Tetley, PG tips, Ty-phoo and the like. It is disappointingly flat and un refreshing... Read review

FREE BISCUITS FROM YORKSHIRE TEA
Review of Yorkshire Tea Biscuits by  dabmim

Advantages: Yummy, moorish,
Disadvantages: Lack of availability

...There was I alone on a hot summer’s day and feeling shaky! Testing my blood sugars revealed that they had dropped to 4.1mmol and I was starting the signs of a hypoglycaemic attack. Knowing I needed sugar, but hating drinking sugared drinks I rummaged through our cupboards and found a packet of Yorkshire Tea Biscuits, they were covered with sugar so I thought get a nice cup of tea and settle down with them both, and then thoughts of something I hadn’t done for ages came into my head – dunking! I got my biscuits for FREE, yes that was correct I said FREE. Yorkshire tea bags have a little token on them, and if you collect those tokens you can send off for various items including their (not so good) tea cake, toy vehicles, tea towels and of course these biscuits. The packet is decorative enough with the Yorkshire tea logo and the word... Read review

'Ard Water, Not With Yorkshire Tea!
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  mickeydumville

Advantages: Smells and Tastes Great
Disadvantages: Bit Pricey With An Aftertaste Some May Not Like

...Amongst the dreaded bills in today's post was a small white jiffy bag. Like a child in a sweet shop it had to be opened first, mainly because I couldn't remember what freebie I'd ordered! Inside was a green box containing Yorkshire Tea bags, not just any tea bag but Taylors of Harrogate's special blend for hard water and ten of them at that. Pictures of rural Yorkshire adorn the box and for a few moments memories came flooding back to me. I was born 11 miles from Harrogate and the pictures returned me to the countryside I played in as a child. I was also reminded of trips with my grandparents to Harrogate market where after a busy morning, my Gran took me to Betty's Tea Rooms (part of the Taylors empire) while my Grandad sampled more than his share of Yorkshire ale. Such was the impression the box made on me. Right that's memory... Read review

Tea at it's best
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  donnabroom

Advantages: Lovely cuppa
Disadvantages: A little expensive and very morish

...Yorkshire tea is made by a company called Taylors of Harrogate. Taylors of Harrogate was founded in 1886 by a tea merchant from Yorkshire called Charles Taylor. Taylors of Harrogate is a family business and they also make delicious coffees, cakes and biscuits and they also own the Yorkshire based Betty's Café Tea Rooms, which are well worth a visit if you're in Yorkshire. Yorkshire tea is blended from teas from the 3 world leading tea producing countries; Africa, India and Sri Lanka. There are 3 Yorkshire tea varieties available which are; Yorkshire tea; the original Yorkshire tea for hard water; just like original Yorkshire tea but for hard water areas And Yorkshire tea Gold; the premium version You can save tokens from packs of Yorkshire tea to save up for lovely Yorkshire tea gifts from www.yorkshiretea.co.uk or you can... A Little Taste of Yorkshire That Isn't a Cow Pat
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  ChigwellChick

Advantages: A strong and comforting cuppa that makes you feel good
Disadvantages: Aftertaste, but no worse than with other teas.

...I recently received a free sample of Yorkshire tea through the post. There were 6 tea bags in the pack with the usual Yorkshire Tea livery some of us are familiar with. But are we familiar with it? I for one have never tried it, although I have often seen it on the supermarket shelves. I have had two cups so far, so here goes with the low down:- This tea brews extremely quickly. I always go for ippy dippy tea. You know, teabag in the mug, boiling water on top, smoosh it around a bit and then squeeze the bag against the side of the cup. Out it then comes and into the bin! I know I am not the only one; there are more of you out there!! The first thing I noticed about this tea is that the water turned brown extremely quickly. I was in a rush, as I usually am first thing in the morning, and absolutely dying for a cuppa. I... Read review

Ye Olde English Tea
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  rowei

Advantages: Nice blend of teas
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

...*History of the Company* Yorkshire Tea is made by Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate. This is a family company which was started in 1886 by Charles Taylor. Since then, the brand has earned national and international acclaim for its quality teas. *The Product* Yorkshire Tea is blended in the company's Yorkshire Tea Hall in Harrogate. You can buy boxes of 40, 80, 160 and 240 tea bags, 250g drums of loose tea and even a hard water variety of tea bag. The company sponsors the "Trees for Life" fund which raises money for new tree planting schemes in the UK and abroad. By buying Yorkshire Tea, you are helping with their Ł100 000 a year fund - a very worthwhile charity, I'm sure you will agree. Since 1990 they have planted over two million trees around the world, and they were recently awarded "The Queen's Award for Enterprise... Read review

Direct from the Tea plateau's of Ilkley
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  Dalesman

Advantages: Refreshing, Tasty, well priced
Disadvantages: none

...Wow, its me...yes Dalesman !!, writing about a product from his own homeland, yup I'm talking Yorkshire Tea here, not Tetleys or PG Tips, but good old Yorkshire Tea... I get cows, I get Sheep Shit,I get Tractors and an aura of muck spreaders..no !!! only joking, this is a wonderful product..read on No we don't have a squadron of ageing Mother-in-Laws out on the Dales Tea Plains picking only the ripest tips from the hardy Yorkshire Tea Plants, found nestling on a sunny plateau higher up in the rich tea growning areas of Warfedale or Wensleydale. This magic stuff, the liquid gold of the Craven Dales is actually blended in the Harrogate plains of North Yorkshire.. Nowthen, before you can sample the tea to its fullest effect and get that tea kick on the back of the throat ( not forgetting that you don't atually swallow the teabag... Read review

TRY IT FREE it's Simply Tea Best
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  dabmim

Advantages: Taste, colour, and try it free
Disadvantages: none (though might be a little pricey)

...Yorkshire Tea is what I drink these days, so the advert tells us! And so do I! I am the type of person who enjoys a cuppa without having to fuss about with leaves and pots etc. Yep, I fling a bag in a cup and add the water! However, it is advisable to ensure that the water is boiling – otherwise you’ll get the ‘yuck’ effect face! I have tried almost all the teas available (teabags that is), Tetley, Typhoo, PG, Sainsbury’s red label, Brooke Bond D, you name and I’ve probably tried it! However, when it came to Yorkshire tea it took me a while before I decided to go for it and buy that red box sitting on Sainsbury’s shelf. But I eventually gave in and bought a box of 80 bags. At this point I would like to point out that 80 tea bags costs round Ł1.89, although you may get these cheaper depending on where you buy them of course... Read review

EE BAH GUM IT'S TEA OOP NORTH
Review of Yorkshire Tea by  KarenUK

Advantages: tastes nice, sell different tea bags to suit your local water, free samples
Disadvantages: more expensive than our usual brand

...As anyone who knows me will tell you, when it comes to tea, I’m an addict! When Boy George said he’d prefer a cuppa to sex, he knew what he was talking about. While some people know their wines, I know my teas. So when I saw a free offer for some samples of Yorkshire Tea on a website, I thought that’s just my, erm, cup of tea! I was also interested in them offering different types of tea depending on where you lived. Apparently, we live in a hard water area, so my free sample was a little box of six free tea bags, especially made for hard water. Now admittedly, six cups aren’t many for a test, but I often find my ordinary tea bags get a surface of foamy stuff on the top sometimes, which I believe is due to the limescale and hard water. This didn’t happen with the Yorkshire Tea. Six perfect cups of tea... Read review

Decafeinated tea that still tastes good
Review of Yorkshire Tea Decaffeinated by  Crazykurst

Advantages: less caffiene
Disadvantages: the price

...'t, try Yorkshire tea im sure you wont be disappointed. Yorkshire Tea is made by the family firm Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate. Bettys is renowned in Yorkshire and beyond for it's traditional tearooms, the first of which was opened in Harrogate in 1919 by Swiss émigré Frederick Belmont. Taylors of Harrogate was founded in 1886 by tea merchant Charles Taylor. The two businesses merged in 1962. I requested a free sample of Yorkshire decaffeinated tea the other day and thought it was the best I have tasted so far. I bought a whole packet of Tetley decaff and wished I never bothered, I tastes creamy and horrible, but this Yorkshire tea was delicious. It had a nice crisp taste with no creamy taste at all, it smelt like a usual cup of tea and looked the same in colour, i never have orange tea but i think you would get a good strong cuppa...
