They get to the party and there’s a few guys there who are into drugs and Marina is soon being injected. I have to say I didn’t really like this, (OK I admit it, I'm a prude!) and obviously if you do watch this film and you have kids around, this isn’t one for them. At the same party, Holly finds herself in bed with Nat. Marina comes round from her drug induced haze and sees them together, and inevitably they argue. Fast forward again to 1982 – Nat’s in love with Isobel and moves abroad for a while. Marina sports rather nasty blonde hair with black roots and wears long jumpers and invisible skirts. Writer/director Ol Parker's film is as unremittingly bland and upper middle-class as Curtis' work, but lacks the spark of originality and sense of the absurd Curtis clings to. ..."If you could see me now" is the third novel by Cecelia Ahern and was published at the end of 2005. I have read her previous novels and was keen to get this one and was lucky enough to get it as a Christmas present from my in-laws. Cecelia Ahern is a young Irish novelist, daughter of Bertie Ahern the Irish politician and sister-in-law to one of the Westlife boys, I think its Nicky who is one of the blonde ones! Her first novel PS I love you was a bestseller as was her second Where Rainbows End. Her novels tend to have romance and humour with a good plot with some twists and turns which keep you hooked to the end. I have enjoyed her previous novels which made me both laugh and cry so as soon as I got an opportunity I started to read the book. They say you should never judge a book by its cover but I am afraid I often do... Read review

Advantages: Funny, good fun and highly enjoyable

...of the funniest movie characters I have ever witnessed. Ok, so the comedy is pretty childish and isn't really anything we haven't seen before but, how can you not laugh at Owen Wilson? There is a laugh every few minutes with this film. I wont start listing them as I don't want to spoil the film. But the film does start to show a more serious side toward the end when Carl gets the idea that Molly might even be falling for Dupree! Molly's Dad loves this and makes Carl work even later just so Dupree and Molly can spend more 'quality time'. A very funny dining room brawl ensues. So, what's wrong with it? Well for me, not a lot but I can see where people are coming from when they say the film is geared towards Owen Wilson. But for me, the film is supposed to be a comedy and I can't see how they could've left Dupree out of more scenes as Wilson really... Read review

...Rarely does one find a film of such honesty. Most films are dramatised to such an extent that it is easy to separate them from reality. This is by no more a fault than a comment on the creative process. It is generally necessary to make things a little more dramatic as, quite frankly, average people doing average things is pretty dull. That You Can Count On Me shows this, and still manages to remain compelling throughout is an incredible feat. We are offered a window into the life of Sammy (Laura Linney), an average woman in small-town America. This isn't the kind of place where people fulfil their dreams, but she is comfortable here. She raises her eight year old son Rudy (Rory Culkin) by herself, holds a reasonable job at the local bank and has a steady, if not exciting, relationship with Bob (Jon Tenney). As we watch...
