...Where Are You Now by Mary Higgins Clark is a great book,one that is difficult to put down. The story is the disappearance of a college student - Charles MacKenzie junior, or Mack - ten years ago His sister Carolyn is getting annoyed that Mack calls home on Mother?s Day every year and tells his mother ?I?m okay, but don?t look for me.? Even though Mac?s father was killed on 9/11, he doesn?t seem to care, Carolyn decides to find him. Things get dangerous when another college student disappears and Carolyn realizes that two more have disappeared over the past few years. The police believe that Mac is somehow related to the disappearance of these people. This is a very interesting book and my favorite book written by Clark. The mystery leaves you wondering if Mac is alive or dead, and if he is alive, if he is a serial killer...

I'm not Dave Gorman. Are YOU?

Advantages: Laugh out loud funny in places, well written
Disadvantages: A bit rushed towards the end

By Emma Chichester Clark I have already reviewed some of this series, but this is another favourite about Lily and her Blue Kangaroo. ***What's it all about?*** The story opens with what appears to be Lily and Blue Kangaroo playing hide and seek. However, it becomes clear that Blue Kangaroo isn't hiding on purpose; Lily keeps losing him! Lily's friend Florence takes her to the park, she has a lovely time and is about to leave; when she realises she has forgot something! Blue Kangaroo! She finds him on the slide and Florence tells her to be more careful next time. The next week-end Lily goes shopping with Aunt Jemima and travels by bus. She is in a busy crowd of people when she remembers something - she has left Blue Kangaroo on the bus. Luckily a lady has seen what has happened and chases after them...

But despite these perhaps constraining elements, Hendrix's ability as both a writer and a guitarist shine through, building up to the more complex themes dealt with on Axis: Bold As Love and beyond. ...Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? Is a wonderful fun book in the Dr Seuss Collection. This is a yellow back book. The cover of the book is yellow and has a picture of a small boy sitting on top of a cactus and opposite him is an orange bird also sitting on top of a smaller cactus. On the left hand side of the book is the red and white stripped banner. The back cover of the book is also yellow and has a small paragraph telling us about this book. The book starts by someone telling us that when they were young they were quite small for their size. They met an old man in the Desert of Drize and he sang him a song which he has never forgotten. We then see a small boy in the picture and he tells us about when he net the man. The old man was sitting in a terribly prickly place but he sang with a sunny and sweet smile on his face...

...is that his nest is a long way up in a tall tree and he can't fly yet so after a bit of a bump he picks himself up and ventures on his quest. There are many animals who he meets along the way including a kitten, a hen, a dog and a cow. To each he asks the same question, "Are You My Mother?" Despite the answer being no each time he is not put off and he continues to start thinking that metal objects may be her. A car, boat, plane are all looked at by the scrawny little bird until he sees something which he is sure is to be the one he is looking for. This massive object is in fact a mechanical digger and too late he hears the noise it makes which is a loud 'Snort' and he realises he has made a mistake once again. You Are What You Eat

Advantages: It is a fun and easy read

...By now most of us will know who Gillian McKeith is. Her TV show You Are What You Eat showed her retraining seemingly hopelessly obese and unhealthy people to enjoy her diet of raw vegetables, quinoa and seeds. In fact, diet is the wrong word in this case as Gillian would point out, her plan is more a complete change of lifestyle rather than a crash diet. In spite of her no longer being allowed to use her Doctor title as she is, in fact, not a doctor but a holistic nutritionist, I still find much of her advice very useful for a healthy lifestyle. Yes, she is a bit too strict at times but in general her suggestions are common sense to a great deal. It seems obvious that the human body will work better on food packed with energy rather than a processed ready meal full of e-numbers, fat and sugar. Personally I absolutely love Gillian...

I first heard this song on the tv from Glastonbury and I must admit thinking it had to be an old classic from the late eighties. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a new one. Unlike some of the previous songs, this has much more substance in the music and has great lyrics but only very limited. This is where Morrissey is at his best. His lyrics are unquestioned, his music is doubted. Not here however, with well used guitar, it is a moderately paced song reminding us all of those that have got themselves killed in an act of bravado that, in the eyes of Morrissey is needless.
