Advantages: Catchy and vocally very good,Masculine and definitely Indie-Rockish.
Disadvantages: Annoying spiky,thumpy brattish music.Lyrically a bit poor and often irritating.

...wanna car, I wanna car..I see losers losing everywhere...I am completely invincible...and this boys so spectacular' on and on back to the 'I wanna car wanna wanna wanna' till I feel like I want to hunt the writer down and punch him in the face! Other than in this song 'This Boy' some of their lyrics are ok, sometimes starting out like the writer has some writing potential but they soon get swamped in huffy grumpy boy prose that I am sure lots of guys out there can relate to. I couldn't recommend them because something about them is so malicious and spoilt brat-ish that I cant/dont want to consider them as a worthwhile band. Summary: You Could Have It So Much Better by not buying this album!...

"You Could Have It So Much Better" (literally)

Advantages: half the album

...alongside fellow Brits Keane and Coldplay, two bands that, to be quite frank, have gone virtually unnoticed since the turn of the year. Now, having not fully heard the bands debut, mainly through the fact that I simply didn't want to, I can't compare the two respective albums, nor can I highlight any improvements/failures within the record; but what I can give is an unbiased opinion on an album, that despite wanting to hate, may well surprise me yet. It's noticeable from listening to opening track 'The Fallen', that the band have attempted to move away from the somewhat 'retro' feel that described their early sound so well; the drums appear slightly more potent than any of the three tracks that I (suffered) from the bands debut, whilst the guitars are also slightly more noticeable. You Could Have It So Much Better, or could you?

Advantages: New Different tracks, as well as the classic old style from Franz Ferdinand
Disadvantages: Takes a while to enjoy and appreciate. Not as good as first album.

...The success of the first album, entitled Franz Ferdinand, was groundbreaking. The group from Glasgow, UK, even found success in the most difficult market for European artists, the US. The first album was fantastic, and I personally am still quite happy to sit down and have a good listen to it one year on. All this is fantastic and great, but what about the new album, You Could Have It So Much Better.
