Unimaginative Me and You

Advantages: Celia Imrie's always good value
Disadvantages: Incredibly bland

Imagine "Notting Hill" with lesbians instead of Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Congratulations, you've just found what "Imagine Me and You" is aspiring to. Writer/director Ol Parker's film is as unremittingly bland and upper middle-class as Curtis' work, but lacks the spark of originality and sense of the absurd Curtis clings to. Review of Imagine Me And You (DVD)

PS3, for you and me?

Advantages: Stylish, good games available + lots more on the way, blu ray
Disadvantages: No HD cable in the box, no rumble, limited BC

...of a new TV. Another annoyance is the lack of any way of displaying your PS3 in HD out of the box, being touted by Sony as the only "true" HD console this is really disappointing and requires you to go out and spend an extra £20 on a HDMI or component cable. Furthermore the Sixaxis wireless controller has no rumble, which you really miss especially in driving games and shooters, due to Sonys lawsuit with Immersion, thankfully this has been resolved and we've been promised a DualShock 3 but that means even more money but if you haven't got a second controller yet it may be wise to hold off. The last thing is the lack of backwards compatibility, this was originally in the 60GB model but to cut costs, (for them) they took it out of the 40GB model. For newcomers to Playstation this is not a problem but for people like me who have bought over 50 PS2...

Knowing Me, Knowing You - Aha!

Advantages: Hilarious after several views. Reasonably good value for money.
Disadvantages: Bit too short.

Disadvantages: Won't work for those who want easy answers.

...Rarely does one find a film of such honesty. Most films are dramatised to such an extent that it is easy to separate them from reality. This is by no more a fault than a comment on the creative process. It is generally necessary to make things a little more dramatic as, quite frankly, average people doing average things is pretty dull. That You Can Count On Me shows this, and still manages to remain compelling throughout is an incredible feat. We are offered a window into the life of Sammy (Laura Linney), an average woman in small-town America. This isn't the kind of place where people fulfil their dreams, but she is comfortable here. Advantages: funny, heart warming, not as predictable as most films like that
Disadvantages: moments where attention drifted, slow beginning.

...My favourite films are comedies and romcoms so I was rather looking forward to sitting down to watch You, Me and Dupree. The trailers made the film look hilarious and I was slightly gutted that I never managed to get down to the cinema when it was out, so it was a must for a rental. Any film Ive watched with Owen Wilson has been a laugh from start to finish so I didn't expect this one to be any different. The Film! The film starts out with Carl and Molly, they get hitched with Dupree being the best man (with a very cool best man badge!). Dupree not for me

Advantages: Dillon looks hot
Disadvantages: No comedy

...When I was much younger I was a fan of the so called "Brat Pack", which at the time included Matt Dillon. Admittedly, he is not the world's greatest actor but I have always been drawn to films he has starred in and he is very easy on the eye. In fact, he has matured like a fine wine, and for me tops the likes of Tom Cruise in the looks department. Anyway, letching over, that sort of explains what drew me to "You, Me & Dupree", because I am not particularly a fan of the other stars Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson.
