IT SMELLS!!
Review of Estee Lauder Youth Dew Eau de Parfum Spray by
polarbear
Advantages: The perfume lingers
Disadvantages: It can be a bit too lingering!
...Youth Dew-ah yes! Memories, my husband claims it smells as good today as it did all those years ago, when he was little more than a youth himself. Over thirty years ago he smelt this perfume on a woman, (in a pub actually), asked her what it was and has bought it for me ever since.(By the way, I have corrected the price, my husband said, "The size I buy you costs £27.50."), so perhaps my orignal price was one I bought for myself!!
I HAVE strayed a little over the years, White Linen, Private Collection, Cinnabar, but. I always seem to return to Youth Dew, (even though MY youth has yet to return to me!)
I have tried to modernise myself, even straying to brands outside the Estee Lauder range, but recently I was finally brought to my senses by my daughter.
One day, she said, “I like that perfume (Youth Dew) on you best. I wish I...

Classy With Clout
Review of Estee Lauder Youth Dew Eau de Parfum Spray by
witchwaysup
Advantages: Vast product range
Disadvantages: Not Everyone's Cup of Tea
...Youth Dew. A perfume that carries memories every bit as strong as its aroma. It was my mum who first discovered this perfume, initially only wearing it as her 'secret weapon' or ring of confidence, that extra va-va-voom to top off her evening wear as she and my dad went off socialising at the country club.
That was in the seventies, when women started to learn about independence, about choice. Freed from the constraints of fashion, everything was bold and.. well... perhaps a little brassy. Youth Dew wasn't brassy though, oh no. Youth Dew was classy. She started out wearing it for 'special events' then slowly increased her excuses for wearing it. Women were burning their bra's for goodness sake, so what would it hurt if my mum chose to wear perfume all the time? So, she came out of the closet, along with the Youth Dew. No more...

DO THE DEW!
Review of Mountain Dew by
francesca.sd
Advantages: refreshing, zingy, zesty, fruity.
Disadvantages: not widely availale in uk, bad for you.
...♥ So what is Mountain dew?
Ok, so mountain dew is a carbonated soft drink which is made in America (and now in Europe) and is very rare to find in the united kingdom. Mountain dew was introduced into the UK market in the 1990s but it never really caught on. People say it was banned because it contains too much sugar and caffeine but this isn't true. Nobody was really interested in the product and that's why it's not longer available here. (I will tell you where to get it later on!)
♥ Background info
Mountain dew is prodeced by peps co. inc. It was invented in virginia in 1948 and first marketed in Tenesee. In 1964- it's inventors- the Minges family had produced a nationally available drink.
♥ My mountain dew experience
I feel very happy to be writing this view on a product I adore so much. I know it sounds...

Not so young but takes me back!
Review of Estee Lauder Youth Dew Eau de Parfum Spray by
BessieBadger
Advantages: Heady and nostalgic
Disadvantages: Mainly worn by older women!
...I can never smell the distinctive heady perfume of Youth Dew without being transported back to the 70's when it was the epitome of chic!
It has a sweet, strong fragrance that is unlike any other perfume. It smells very dated now, as lighter more floral concoctions have taken over, but I still like it in small doses.
I love the shape of the ribbed bottle which Estee Lauder have never altered and my dressing table will always have a bottle of this in place even if it stays half full!
I like to wear it in times of insecurity for some reason, like a child using a comfort blanket or when I want to wallow in nostalgia!
It's rare to find a young woman using it, it seems to be worn by women over 40, but what's wrong with that, say I!!...

GIVE EVERY MAN HIS DEW
Review of Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey by
veramck
Advantages: smooth,pleasant whiskey
Disadvantages: none
...Here goes for my second op on Irish Whiskey's, this was one of my assignments for university so I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed the research.
One of Irelands finest and most widely distributed whiskeys, Tullamore Dew was first distilled in 1829 in the small town of Tullamore in County Offaly in the heart of Ireland.
Origins:
The origins of Tullamore Dew can be traced back to 1829 when the Tullamore Distillery ws founded in Tullamore, county offaly by Michael Molloy.
The location was well chosen, rich agricultural and grain growing region in the centre of ireland, providing both the fine barley and pure water essential to the creation of good whiskey.
In 1887 following the death of Mr Molloy, the distillery passed to the Daly family with Capt Daly in charge of the business. A keen sportsman Capt Daly left...

YAHOO! Mountain Dew...it'll tickle yore inners!
Review of Mountain Dew by
signals
Advantages: Good tasting caffeine alternative.
Disadvantages: Good tasting caffeine alternative.
...I remember when Pepsico first started making Mountain Dew. It was in the 60s, and an uncle worked at the local plant. He gave away 'hillbilly' hats to mark the occasion, and also as a promotion. If you ever saw The Beverly Hillbillies, or a movie or show with hillbillies, you would know what I mean. For some reason this was a Mountain Dew(or brew). Most hillbillies are associated with moonshine(illegal homemade liquor that involves a still). Hillbillies also like to 'feud' or shoot at each other. The most famous were the rival families known as the Hatfields and McCoys. The whole bottle theme at the time was about shooting hillbillies. One of the logo was a hillbilly whose jug had popped it's cork that went through the hillbilly's hat. He recited-it'll tickle yore inners!
Yes that is my recount of my encounter with the dinosaur! Now...

Do the Dew Baby
Review of Mountain Dew by
NoLogoGirl
Advantages: Great flavour
Disadvantages: bad for you
...Okay, so I have hurled myself down a mountain on a bike. Yep, gone skiing as an inexperienced skier on experienced skier slopes. Passed on the hang gliding and bungee jumping but have jumped off a cliff into a deep mountain river. Funny how I never had the urge to drink Mountain Dew during any of those experiences. Nonetheless, I have been compelled to drink it on other occasions and it is actually pretty good.
For the price of any other soft drink (approx. 50p a can), Mountain Dew offers a taste that is sweet and fruity and like it says on the can… excellent served cold. There is slightly less caffeine in a serving of Mountain Dew than major Cola brands, but the sugar more than makes up for it. I’m guessing the sweet fruity taste is actually the syrup chock full of glucose and fructose for your blood sugar level...

Honey Dew want some Cranberries
Review of Fuller's Honey Dew by
justme
Advantages: refreshing, different, organic, an reliable brewery
Disadvantages: You can only buy it on draught in the spring and autumn
...Found in the Co-Op priced £1.49
I bought this little friend of mine
It stood proudly upon the shelf
I just couldn’t help myself
Fuller’s the brewery it’s very well known
I Couldn’t wait to get it home
To taste what this Beer had in store
And see if I would buy anymore
I’ve finished two bottles of it now
So here I am with a review for Ciao
Passing comment about my delight
Of the Honey Dew Beer I drank last night.
Okay, I’ve had enough of trying to be clever. It hurts my head, the noise of my brain working overtime is waking the bairn, (what bairn?) and the smoke emanating from ears has already suffocated the dog, I mean Rachael.
I only went into the Co-Op to buy Rachael some cigarettes, it was a bad idea asking me. The purse strings were stretched to the limit when I ended up spending 20 quid on booze and only...

Youth and Crime- Explore the Connections
Review of Youth and Crime - John Muncie by
Gemerina
Advantages: very informative, great if your studying
Disadvantages: the price
...Youth and Crime
Youth and Crime is a book written by John Muncie who is a renowned professor of criminology and co-director of the International Centre for Comparative Criminological Research at the Open University.
The book itself details the many psychological, sociological and general statistics that connect youth and crime together. The book contains seven chapters with sub chapters within each main chapter, which I will detail below to give you an idea of how in depth the book really is.
The Chapters
Chapter One-Youth Crime: Representations, Discourses and Data.
This chapter details the threat of youth as such, about how the youth and the threat of youth and portrayed within the media and how crimes committed by youths have contributed to a moral panic of how youths are becoming more dangerous and in pursuit...

Sister - Sonic Youth
Review of Sister - Sonic Youth by
sonic0209
Advantages: Loud, experimental, totally cool
Disadvantages: Not for the pop fan!
...~~~A Personal History~~~
Sister is Sonic Youth's 5th album, but when it came out in 1987 it was the first of theirs that I had heard. 15 at the time, it blew me away. This is the album that fired me with a passion for music that has stayed with me to this day.
To my pubescent mind, Sonic Youth were the embodiment of cool, no one would or could ever criticise my musical taste - if they didn't like Sonic Youth, they should at least admire them, and if they didn't, well to me that just demonstrated their lack of appreciation of good music. There was a mutual respect between the band and other serious musicians (Pubic Enemy, for example - Chuck D guests on Kool Thing), and I sensed this would extend to their fans. As a Sonic Youth fan and as a 15 year old girl, I felt untouchable, all powerful. All this was crystallised at a gig...
