Why is it so well received?
YouTube is a free site first and foremost, where people upload anything from music videos, comedic videos and episodes of television shows, because of this the site has become immensely popular around the world, it passes the time and it is a great site to watch funny things or music videos that you want to watch on demand.
When I was at one of my University Open Days, this lecturer told us that if you started watching all YouTube videos on the site, from the minute you were born until you were about 110, without no food breaks or toilet breaks, you would only have watched around about 30% of the entire site, every day I believe that over 1 million videos or something...

Youtube: The Home of Video Sharing on the Internet
Advantages: fantastic resource, easy to use
Disadvantages: can be slow particularly at peak times
...ranging from users personal home videos, to music videos, to clips from television shows. Videos exist on Youtube covering almost any topic you could think of from how to change a plug, to educational material, and such things as diverse as videos of elephants giving birth and material showing how to repair cars for example.

Youtube has rapidly become a household name. Indeed among more seasoned web users, few would be able to say they had never heard of Youtube. Indeed, most, I would say have either watched videos on Youtube itself, linked to Youtube videos from emails that have been sent to them, or viewed Youtube hosted videos embedded within other websites.
The Youtube logo, is instantly recognisable, and has become such a part of everyday life, that you cannot fail to log onto social networking sites these days...

The video lasts a mental 15 minutes, longer than a Keith Moon drum solo, and only Jackson could have got away with that, this, more a promotion for the album than his single by the same name. In fact it became the template showcase style for hyping 'the big single'. But all great works of art are parodied, the ultimate applause, this extraordinary performance (see below) by the prisoners of a very tough prison in Manila in the Philippines showing how powerful Michael Jackson was and is for ethnic minorities around the world. I was never going to bore you guys by showing you the real thriller film. I'm sure you have seen the original.
