...Having owned several Samsung branded MP3 players over the years, I really enjoyed them so I decided to upgrade from their K5 mp3 player. I found this well built and very reliable (hardly ever crashed) and loved the portable slide out speaker. When the S5 was released a year later, also with slide out speaker, I thought this upgrade had to be a must. I was right. I decided to go for more storage from a 2gb to an 8gb. The 8gb actually costs less than the 2gb K5 cost! This player has everything the K5 missed and the few faults that the K5 had have been ironed out. The S5 now has album art, a prettier screen, video playback and bluetooth. Fair enough the screen doesn't go as dark as the K5's did, meaning it no longer becomes a seamless part of the front of the player, but it still looks stylish none of the less. The menus are more...

  Canon S5 IS - One of the "top" cameras! My review

Advantages: Very Stylish look and easy to transfer mp3's
Disadvantages: Could be arkward to use for the heavy handed

...I have had this mp3 player for just about a year now and i must admit it is possibly the best mp3 player that ihave every purchased. It has a stylish look and i'm ofter complimented on how cool my mp3 player is and asked where i bought it. The mp3 is easy to use device which uses a touch pad. For me using this is not a problem however of others this may not be the case especially for those that are heavy handed. Overall transferring mp3's from the PC is generally very simple and very suitable for those who have never had experience with using she devices. The sound quality is outstanding and allows several sound settings for different music styles. The battery live is good and does not require batteries....

Canon S5 IS Digital Camera Excellence

Advantages: Zoom, Image stabiliser, Picture quality, Hot shoe etc. etc

Great MP3 player, not so good software

Advantages: Bluetooth, great sound quality from both the speakers and earphones, smooth animations, sleek design
Disadvantages: Visualisations are sluggish, software may not be compatible with Windows Vista

The design is sleek and modern and the buttons (while confusing to begin with) are simple and easy to use. Regarding the buttons, as I have never owned a touch screen device or one with touch sensitive areas, it is a tad strange using the buttons and having no tactile feedback. That said, if you are familiar with that kind of input method, feel free to ignore the previous sentence. This small and stylish player had very good sound considering and even the speaker was up to par for quality. Advantages: It has everything you could want and more and it's so easy to use
Disadvantages: Very small for big hands

...A fantastic small camera with every feature you could imagine. The price is very reasonable and many features are included in cameras costing twice as much. It is very easy to ue and has pre-set settings for any type of photo you wish to take, including black and white and sunsets. Make sure you charge the battery in the cradle supplied for a good 5/6 hours before using. The software provided is easy to use and set up on your PC as long as you have a basic PC knowledge (mainly follow the options) Make sure you get a decent size memory card as the 64Mb card that comes with the S5i does not hold too many pictures. If you are going to do any video's then a 512Mb will get you about 30mins worth or 1000 photo's....

Disadvantages: Auto Focus in Dim light, Slow to write to memory

...that makes Contax cameras. I do have 2 main niggles with the camera. 1. The autofocus is not very good in dim light and by that I mean indoors. 2. the camera can be slow (especially after being used to 35mm SLRs) to take multiple pictures (up to 5 seconds between shots) due to the time taken to write to the memory card. I suspect this is common of all digital cameras. This is especially noticable after shooting a video sequence. Overall extremely pleased with the purchase and would buy another Kyocera Camera, except for the fact that the S5 is so good, I probably won't need to for a long time....
