...How much memory does your mp3 player have? 1GB, 2GB? Did you pay more than £65 for it? If the answer to any of these questions is yes then you have been duped, drawn in my the marketing blurb of the huge multinationals and missed out on the Samsung YP-U3 4GB which at £65 comes in as the best mp3 player I have owned or had the pleasure to use. Available in 3 sizes, the Samsung YP-U3 is priced at £35, £50 and £65 for the 1, 2 and 4GB models respectively and while the smaller memory models are available in a range of bright and funky colours, the 4GB model which I opted for is like a Model T Ford, available in any colour as long as it is black. Like other mp3 players songs are downloaded from various online stores such as Napster and CDs can be burnt onto the memory. One very minor niggle is that iTunes isn't compatible with the YP-U3... ...I've had this wonderful little mp3 player for a couple of months now and it can do no wrong by me, i love it! It comes with 2gb of memory, in my opinion that's perfect, roughly 500 songs is enough for me lol, it is has flash memory so you can use it as a memory stick as well and not just for music. It looks very stylish and the buttons are very cool. It is also very durable, i've lost count of how many times i've dropped and there is not a scratch on it and performance is as good as ever. It also comes with a surprisingly useful set of headphones and is available in 5 different colours black, pink, green, white and light blue. The battery life is very good, it claims 15 hours and i have had that out of it. ...I purchased a white version of the Samsung YP-U3 1GB mp3 for my technophobe friend a couple of weels ago and must say it is an extremely cool bit of kit. It arrived in a small plastic box which was extremely well presented and fit through my letter box perfectly. There is no seperate USB cable as the USB attachment is built into the player which slots out easily to connect to the pc. Synchronising music on the player is also a piece of cake and after an hour or so I had the device pre-loaded with all my friend's favourite music. It also has a built in FM tuner which works fairly well in picking up stations. The functions on the player are very easy to use with touch sensitive controls and the blue backlit LCD screen tells you everything you need to know. ...Having had this MP3 player now for nearly 2 years, I have not had any problems with it. It is very reliable, never crashes, freezes etc on me, is really easy to put music on, and is at a very reasonable price, even the 4GB is very affordable and very durable, I have dropped mine countless times without any problems. Something you may not think of is that the screen is very clear and easy to use in all lights(brightness of screen can also be altered) and does not scratch easily. I would recommend this to people who have a large music library, but are often able to change the music on the MP3 player due to the 2GB only holding around 500 songs, and the 4GB holding around 1000 songs. ...I recently purchased my SanDisk Cruzer Micro from eBay, as it was one of the cheapest brand-names available. Another thing that attracted me to this particular drive is the U3 capability. U3 is a new capability which allows usb drives to hold not only files and data, but also a variety of applications such as the Firefox browser, OpenOffice, Skype but also some games like Sudoku! This great idea is fantastic if you work with multiple computers, such as at work or school where you would normally not be able to use your own applications. Another great feature about the USB drive is the retractable connnector. With a quick slide on top of the drive, you can pull the connector back into the drive which eradicates the need for lids that often get misplaced. ...new Samsung YP-K5 arrived because it was everything I had hoped for plus more. Despite the small memory (I only bought a 2 GB) the music features where amazing. As well as searching through your tracks by artist and by genre you can also include your own play lists. However, the only drawback to this is that play lists can only be set up when using your computer. The software included is easy to use and gives you the most out of your music. You can also store photos on your MP3 player and use it to view a slideshow of these photos. Transferring music to your MP3 player could not be easier. You just simply select the track and click the copy button. I mean come on how easy is that! The slide out speaker has fantastic volume and is crystal clear. ...Firstly this USB drive is quite small, it looks good and as soon as you plug it in a big orange light starts up, it doesn’t have a cap (so you won't lose the cap!) and comes with a neck strap. The USB data transfer is quite fast, there is not much lag and the computer immediately picks up that the USB stick is plugged in. However as soon as you plug in the stick then it starts to install the U3 software on the PC, this could annoy some people but the software is very useful. You can download many free portable ap’s and can synchronise the USB with the PC using this, its a useful feature and also includes some security features, preventing nosey people looking through your files. ...I was very happy with the player until is stopped working after 9 months. Now it is completely dead. I used it at work every day, and the only real problem I had was that you cannot listen to music while charging it up. Good points 1) Good sound quality (good enough for me, anyway!) 2) FM radio reception OK (at least on strong BBC stations) 3) Can be used as a USB flash drive for files as well as music 4) Charges via USB - so all you need is any PC or Mac 5) Small yet easy to use, with lots of options to adjust the sound etc 6) Good battery life Bad points 1) It only lasted around 9 months!!! 2) You will probably want to get different earphones 3) USB transfers a bit slow (compared to a generic USB FLASH drive) 4) You can't play music or listen to the radio while it's charging! ...This is a very good mp3 player It can hold a lot of good quality songs and then play them with its superb battery life. Through the speakers that it comes with the sound quality is very good (depends on where you get the music from) and if you plug it into some speakers it can go very loud. The software that comes with it is very easy to use and works very well with the mp3 player, unlike some software that comes with mp3 players it is not an advert or a free trial. The mp3 player is easy to use but it may be a bit harder to use if you have big fingers but otherwise it is very easy to use. One problem is that if you have lots of songs on it can take a while to reach other songs but this can be overcome if you just put random on. Another bad point is that it needs to be plugged into a USB (universal serial bus) port to charge but it does... Read review
