Verbatim Store 'n' Go 2Gb U3 Smart Drive
Review of Verbatim Store 'n' Go U3 Smart Drive - USB flash drive - 2 GB by
ilaskey
Advantages: Capacity, speed, looks good, nice blue LED, U3 feature
Disadvantages: cap could be tighter, not Vista friendly until you update it.
...2Go password manager. You can download more from the U3 web site at www.u3.com
Sounds good but Windows Vista is so different to XP under the bonnet, it stops U3 working. A new version of the U3 software has been released BUT the version on the stick isn't Vista friendly although you can go to Verbatim's website to get the new version which involves a slightly scary backup/update/restore process.
The initial lack of U3 on Vista also stops you being able to use the password feature until you upgrade it.
Apart from that, it works well. It's fast for a USB stick and is available in different sizes up to 4Gb so can carry a good chunk of your data, photos or whatever. It has a nice blue LED that flashes during data transfer so you can be sure when it's finished prior to pulling it out (although you should really use the little...

Samsung YP-U3 1GB MP3 with built in FM tuner
Review of Samsung YP-U3 1GB by
JB53275
Advantages: Small Sleek and Sexy
Disadvantages: None
...I purchased a white version of the Samsung YP-U3 1GB mp3 for my technophobe friend a couple of weels ago and must say it is an extremely cool bit of kit.
It arrived in a small plastic box which was extremely well presented and fit through my letter box perfectly. There is no seperate USB cable as the USB attachment is built into the player which slots out easily to connect to the pc. Synchronising music on the player is also a piece of cake and after an hour or so I had the device pre-loaded with all my friend's favourite music. It also has a built in FM tuner which works fairly well in picking up stations.
The functions on the player are very easy to use with touch sensitive controls and the blue backlit LCD screen tells you everything you need to know. It goes blank after a minute or so and looks like its switched off which I...

Samsung YP-U2R 2GB
Review of Samsung YP-U2R 2GB by
GerlofL
Advantages: Samsung, lot of space, lasts heavy use.
Disadvantages: It can only charge through USB.
...----------Writers Notice---------
The facts stated are the facts as I believe them to be, but I do not claim they are the undenyable truth. Opinions expressed are mine, and I do not claim anybody else shares these opinions with me.
------ Intro -----
The product is by Samsung, which already kind of stands for awesome, maybe it is just me, but every product I have had from Samsung was great and longlasting, with usually the options you want on that product.
This is a 2GB ( 1964MB? ) MP3 player, even though it supports alot of other audiofiles. It will not play videos or display pictures, its pure music.
---- Functions -----
The obvious ones first:
Hold - Unless you slide it from hold again no button will respond.
Next - Play next track ( does not work in 'hold' )
Prev - Play previous track ( also won't work while on 'hold...

You were robbed
Review of Samsung YP-U3 4GB black by
BALLISTIC
Advantages: excellent playback, radio reception is amazing, too many to mention - price etc
Disadvantages: not compatible with iTunes
...How much memory does your mp3 player have? 1GB, 2GB? Did you pay more than £65 for it? If the answer to any of these questions is yes then you have been duped, drawn in my the marketing blurb of the huge multinationals and missed out on the Samsung YP-U3 4GB which at £65 comes in as the best mp3 player I have owned or had the pleasure to use.
Available in 3 sizes, the Samsung YP-U3 is priced at £35, £50 and £65 for the 1, 2 and 4GB models respectively and while the smaller memory models are available in a range of bright and funky colours, the 4GB model which I opted for is like a Model T Ford, available in any colour as long as it is black.
Like other mp3 players songs are downloaded from various online stores such as Napster and CDs can be burnt onto the memory. One very minor niggle is that iTunes isn't compatible with the YP-U3...

Finally an mp3 player with no flaws!
Review of Samsung YP-U3 2GB black by
rik13
Advantages: High quality, good price, great performance, great look and durable
Disadvantages: Couldn't find any
...I've had this wonderful little mp3 player for a couple of months now and it can do no wrong by me, i love it!
It comes with 2gb of memory, in my opinion that's perfect, roughly 500 songs is enough for me lol, it is has flash memory so you can use it as a memory stick as well and not just for music. It looks very stylish and the buttons are very cool. It is also very durable, i've lost count of how many times i've dropped and there is not a scratch on it and performance is as good as ever. It also comes with a surprisingly useful set of headphones and is available in 5 different colours black, pink, green, white and light blue.
The battery life is very good, it claims 15 hours and i have had that out of it. I used it just last week on a train journey that took 2 hours and when i got home i just put it down and forgot to turn it of...

Verbatim Store 'n' Go U3 Smart Drive
Review of Verbatim Store 'n' Go U3 Smart Drive - USB flash drive - 1 GB by
ilaskey
Advantages: Small, good looking, U3 feature, fast enough for Vista
Disadvantages: U3 features don't work with Vista (yet)
...it is plastic, it feels well made, doesn't bend or flex and the tight cap makes it feel like it would survive being dunked in a puddle should you be of the clumsy disposition.
The packaging promises all sorts of nice additional features such as U3 and U Safe password protection. However, as I initially tried it with Windows Vista, I hit a snag.
U3 - What's that?
U3 is a feature supported by various USB drive makers and software developers that allows you to install software on your USB stick that you can then run directly from the stick without having to install it first on your PC. This lets you carry your favourite software around (assuming it supports U3) and run it on any PC just by plugging in the USB stick. Examples include Mozilla Thunderbird (email program), MiGo synchronisation software and Pass2Go password manager. You can download...

>2GB of Style for a pink Californian girl<
Review of SanDisk Cruzer Fleur - USB flash drive - 2 GB by
1st2thebar
Advantages: 2GB of data storage
Disadvantages: sickly colour
...for 2GB is £15.99 -- 9/10 value for money. 3/10 for design and gimmick worth. It is worth a shop around as these types of storage memory components have always got a deal on.
*For special price reductions >> Check out the online shops:
www. dabs.com; www.directusbstore.co.uk. The deals are always good value for money and the choice range is very varied<<*
-Overal verdict-
Worth it's price and is gimmick orientated; for those of you who like a deal, this is one for the future. Extreme Kitch visually that could be worth a few pounds in ten years or so. It has a well thoughout simple pin protector as it slides back and forth. Has a fun quality along with a key-ring option. I'm not that convinced about the 'pink head/top' protector - It is very useful as a portable storage drive. 2GB of storage is not to be sneezed at...

SanDisk Cruzer Micro - USB flash drive - 2 GB
Review of SanDisk Cruzer Micro - USB flash drive - 2 GB by
01wojtowicz
Advantages: no cap, large sorage space, U3 software is useful
Disadvantages: U3 auto-installing may annoy some people
...Firstly this USB drive is quite small, it looks good and as soon as you plug it in a big orange light starts up, it doesn’t have a cap (so you won't lose the cap!) and comes with a neck strap.
The USB data transfer is quite fast, there is not much lag and the computer immediately picks up that the USB stick is plugged in. However as soon as you plug in the stick then it starts to install the U3 software on the PC, this could annoy some people but the software is very useful. You can download many free portable ap’s and can synchronise the USB with the PC using this, its a useful feature and also includes some security features, preventing nosey people looking through your files.
The U3 software also has an instruction manual/tour on it, preventing the need for there to be any paper manuals with the device.
The 2GB...

Samsung MP3 player, 2GB or 4GB
Review of Samsung YP-Z5QS 2 GB by
Jamesy123
Advantages: Affordable, reliable, easy to use and transfer songs to
Disadvantages: memory may not be big enough for all people, pictures are slow
...Having had this MP3 player now for nearly 2 years, I have not had any problems with it. It is very reliable, never crashes, freezes etc on me, is really easy to put music on, and is at a very reasonable price, even the 4GB is very affordable and very durable, I have dropped mine countless times without any problems. Something you may not think of is that the screen is very clear and easy to use in all lights(brightness of screen can also be altered) and does not scratch easily. I would recommend this to people who have a large music library, but are often able to change the music on the MP3 player due to the 2GB only holding around 500 songs, and the 4GB holding around 1000 songs. Fits easily into ipod nano(older shape) pouches therefore good for sports etc. one downfall is that the picture viewer can be a bit sluggish, and I found...

Cruzer Control
Review of SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3 - USB flash drive - 2 GB by
schwana
Advantages: Rugged - lots of software available
Disadvantages: None I've found
......
Software
Being U3 drives, they come with a suite of software, some preinstalled (I believe a password store is one of the default programmes), some free to download (the OpenOffice Suite) and some which you pay for. All the software is available to download via links the USB pen itself.
I was also surprised to find, after upgrading to Windows Vista from XP, that the USB pen works no problem with Vista.
If you don't want to use this pen as a U3 drive, you can uninstall the software on the USB pen and use it as a normal USB drive. You can also turn off the password protect feature, if this is not needed.
Conclusion
All in all, I've found the SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3 drives to be excellent devices. I think the 2GB version was less than £10, which is not the cheapest 2GB drive out there, but for durability I'm happy to pay it. I...
