YP-K3 - better than the iPod any time!
Review of Samsung YP-K3 1GB by
demonbarak
Advantages: Incredibly well spec
Disadvantages: no major faults
...iPod - a word that makes me want to vomit.
I can't stand Apple, and never have been able to - though i have many friends who swear by them.
So, when searching for an mp3 player that WASN'T an iPod i struggled. Now, wandering through town, despondant and weary my bearing perked up as i wandered into a local little electronics place and spotted this - the price was right, it had enough memory... I'll take it!
So, we'll start with teh cons...
You can't operate the touch panel through gloves. Being a cyclist, this is a major pain in the backside as it means you can't actually do anything with it at all while its cold.
The random play seems to like the same thirty or so tracks. Now, seeing as you load it up with tracks you like, this seems to be a good thing in a bizarre way - its really not. you get tired of it after a while!
Now...

Samsung YP-K3
Review of Samsung YP-K3JAB 4 GB by
trickytrini
Advantages: Sleek, modern design. loads of memory, ultra-thin
Disadvantages: only works with windows XP or higher, fingerprints show up!!!
...that the back panel easily scratches which is annoying, it would of been helpful if Samsung provided a case but i guess accessories are just another money making scheme for them!
The actual MP3 is easy to navigate, once turned on you have 4 options, Music, Radio, Photos or Settings. Settings include cool screensaver animations and the ability to set volume limits and the function of allowing the display to switch of after a certain time to prevent the battery from draining. The radio reception is great, even when you are moving around. The K3 also allows you to upload your pictures on to it, which is again similar to mobile phones these days! The volume is exceptional with excellent bass and a bass boost option to really bring it out. The earphones provided are excellent, much better than some standard headphones provided with other MP3 players...

So attractive it looks edible...
Review of Samsung YP-K3JQB 2 GB by
Necormancer
Advantages: Sleek, Battery Life, Easy to Use, Great add-ons
Disadvantages: Cleaning the god darned thing, Earphones
...The YP-K3 is one the most recent ontakes of the Ultra-Slim range of MP3 players. It had a heatpad touchscreen which pops out of nowhere when you turn it on, a very large (For me) 2GB memory (Which is slightly less with every MP3 Player). It is extremely thin which makes it very appealing to the eye, and the ability to listen to the radio, and view pictures. So with the latest iPod nano craze, i wanted to go a little different, and so i chose the YP-K3 by Samsung!
Anyway, Some factual things first.
The price was £89.99 when it first came out
In argos it is now £49.99 since there is an unpraded version now out.
25 hours battery life.
Earphones supplied.
1 inch screen
Toggle at the side which toggles on/off and Lock
FM Tuner with Preset Capability
Out with the boring stuff, in with the new!
How, lets test what i think a good...

Move over K9 heres the K3 MP3 player from Samsung
Review of Samsung YP-K3JAB 4 GB by
skrg28
Advantages: Small good quality, great design
Disadvantages: Could do with a cover
...Having recently had a breakdown on my Samsung U3 I opted for the K3 instead. So far I have to say I made the right decision.
INTRO
The first thing that you notice about the K3 is how cool it looks. I spent weeks looking at MP3 players and was comparing them all to the IPOD Nano and the K3 for me was the one to beat it.
I paid £119 for my unit which compared to £129 for the same Nano was a bargain bearing in mind the K3 has more features.
The K3 comes in a small sleek black box, but beware, once you take it out its impossible to put back in, but hey…
WHAT YOU GET
Along with the MP3 player you don't get huge amounts.
Software CD, USB cable……..sorry but that's it…..oh and the earphones, quiteimportant that one
WHAT YOU DON'T GET
You don't get a mains adaptor / charger, that's not a huge problem and a vast number of players don...

You can keep your iPods!
Review of Samsung YP-K3JQB 2 GB by
DemonKitty
Advantages: Small, ample capacity, good battery power
Disadvantages: Not the model for you if you want a wide range of features
...I was given this player as a birthday gift, and the donor certainly made a good choice. It satisfies all my requirements in an MP3 player - decent capacity, good battery life, easy to use. The size is perfect for holding as well.
My only quibble is that I found it much easier to use Media Player to copy music onto the player. rather than Samsung´s own programme. In all the months I´ve owned the player, I haven´t used the photo facility either, but that´s not really a criticism. One suggestion though: be very careful when removing the charger, as it´s quite difficult, and I´m concerned about bending the pins inside.
If you don´t care about labels, or owning a trendy model, then the Samsung is an excellent choice. I´ve really found nothing to fault it, and would happily recommend it to anyone....

Uniross Ultra Fast Charger Review - Best Charger
Review of Uniross - Battery charger - 14 hr - 4xAA/AAA, 2x9V - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 1300 mAh by
carrmanor
Advantages: Very fast charge times, turns off automatically.
Disadvantages: None
...First point, this is a review for the Ultra Fast SPRINT charger which I think is slightly different but Ciao do not have page for that one.
The Ultra Fast Sprint charger by Uniross is the best. To start with it takes no longer than 2 hours to recharge batteries and alot of the time it does it in less. The other main advantage of this charger is that it stops charging automatically when they are fully charged so no more waiting around to turn it off and no more worries about damaging the batteries if you left the charger on by accident.
It costs £34.99 in Argos but I bought mine off eBay for £20 inc P&P. The reason this one is so expensive though is that it is supplied with 4 2300MaH AA batteries which in simple terms means that these batteries last longer than other rechargeable batteries with a lower MaH. 2300 is the highest you...

The Energizer Battery Charger
Review of Energizer CHDCWB-4 Battery Charger by
micksheff
Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: Takes a long time to charge batteries
....
This charger was on offer. The normal RRP being £17.99. The charger came with four AA size Energizer 2500mAH batteries. These were the same size of battery that I required for my camera. My camera however only requires two batteries so I thought that this would be ideal as I could always have a spare set of fully charged batteries with me when I was out and about with my camera.
This charger comes packaged in a thick plastic packet that was moulded around the shape of the charger. This packaging is transparent so you can see what you are buying before you part with your money.
The charger itself is rather modern looking and very compact. It is also very lightweight and weighs only 132g. Size wise it measures just 80cm long by 10cm wide and it is less than 3cm thick. The prongs of the plug are moulded into the design of the charger, which...

Tiny versatile charger
Review of Uniross - Battery charger - 14 hr - 4xAA/AAA, 2x9V - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 1300 mAh by
querth
Advantages: Tiny, 12v Car Adaptor Included
Disadvantages: Battery compartment door falls off easily
...Uniross "Ultra Fast Charger"
This charger takes up to 4 AA or AAA (slightly smaller than AA) sized batteries; charging either two or four at a time. It is capable of charging 4 batteries, either Ni-Cd's or Ni-MH type, in around 2 hours and is supplied with a mains power and a 12v cigarette lighter adaptor.
4 AA Ni-MH 1300 mAH batteries are included with the charger, though its worth investing in some 1800 mAH or 2000 mAH ones for digital camera use as they last a bit longer. This charger is around the £25 mark, but you should be able to get it for less if you shop around. Good value for such a versatile device.
Its size (about the same as two packs of cards), weight (less than the batteries you put in it) and provision of a car charger makes it ideal to slip into a digital camera bag to recharge batteries on the move...

Hama Delta Ni/Cd Ni-MH Fast Charger
Review of Hama Delta 2/4 Microprocessor Controlled Ultra-Fast Ni-MH/Ni/Cd Charger by
djdarkstorm
Advantages: Very fast for charging high Mah batteries
Disadvantages: only charges AA and AAA batteries
...Well Ive had this charger now for around two months.
I bought it online as with having a young daughter the need for recharging batteries is a weekly task and my old charger took over 10 hours to charge a set of 4 AA's.
This charger is absolutely brilliant it came with 4 high power 2500 Mah Ni-MH AA batteries and charges these from flat in around two hours I also use it a lot for low spec Ni/Cd 700Mah AA batteries and it charges these fine as well as my AAA 250Mah batteries in under an hour. So to sum up this little charger which comes with a mains adapter as well as an adapter to use your car cigarette socket I would rate it as excellent and definitely recommend to my friends or anyone after a compact high quality charger for a low price.
The only downfall ive found is that I also need to charge larger size C and D batteries...
