Disadvantages: Much as it pains me to admit, hours of fun if you're little.

...Well, on one level, this is all very complicated stuff. On another, far more significant level, though, this is all very simple stuff. There are many characters ? all with magical powers ? and lots of sub-plots and complicated inter-relationships. On the other hand, we have a very simple deprive-parents-of-every-penny-possible fad, like all the other fads targeting the underage consumer. Gah. Yu-gi-oh is a very popular cartoon series for children, shown on Sky One. A young lad manages to solve a puzzle that no one else has been able to solve. Yu gi oh my god how do you play it!

...Yu-gi-oh is a card game based on a set of characters from a TV series. The current packs available are the Yugi, Joey, Kaiba and Pegasus decks. Each deck has a theme with cards from the tv series represented. These starter packs retail at £6.99. Packs contain 43 common cards, 3 rare cards, a rule book and game mat. The game can have many players but is easiest to play with two. Starting with a set amount of "Life points" the object of the game is to reduce the opponents life points to 0 using a variety of monster, trap and magic cards. Sounds easy enough doesn't it. However, i bought my 10 year old son his first "deck" for christmas 2002 and we have spent the last year discovering new rules every time we play (I am the only one in a house of six stupid enough to try and play it with him.)
