Yu-Gi-Oh - The addictive trading card game
Review of Yu-gi-oh by
superfrenchguy
Advantages: Fun, addictive, and strategic
Disadvantages: expensive, and some people will find it hard to play
...Intro:
I first got into Yu-Gi-Oh when I went to my cousin’s house. I arrived, all tired and the first thing I was confronted with was “Phil, do you want a game of Yu-Gi-Oh?” I agreed and I must admit, although I am a bit old for it, it was fun to play, as their were loads of monsters and moves possible. Below is a guide on the trading card game, so have fun!
General Info:
Yu-Gi-Oh is a trading card game that is meant for 2 or more players. You are not obliged to play the actual game, but can choose to just collect the cards and not battle with them. You play the game on a ‘game mat’ which could have been made better by making it out of cardboard, rather than paper. Another disadvantage of the paper game mat is that every time you unfold it, there are big creases in it. This means the cards that you put...

Disadvantages: Over 6000 to collect, can be expensive, a bit tricky to pick up at first.
...Yu-Gi-Oh is a trading card game, which began its life in Japan, it also has several successful TV series' which are based on the card game, as well as manga. The card game is very addictive and the cards in themselves are extremely collectible. There is a big market for Yu-Gi-Oh cards with prices per card ranging from a few pence all the way up to £50 or more. For this very reason Yu-Gi-Oh cards could be considered a potential investment.
You can buy pre-made decks of 40 cards that will help beginners start the game, booster packs which have 5-7 cards in help players advance their decks and eventually build decks of their own. There are also tins and boxs which contain an assortment of booster packs and rare promotional cards that cannot be obtained anywhere else.
The card game in itself is very addictive. It comprises of two...

Yu-Gi-Oh the trading card game
Review of Yu-gi-oh by
noel13
Advantages: Fun and Addictive
Disadvantages: Miles Too Expensive
...I am 13 almost 14 and I enjoy collesting these cards and so do a lot of people my age although I think its too complicated for the younger people its aimed for instance I know a ten year old boy that thinks Kuriboh is the strongest ever card with multiply and it is the television program that gave him the wrong impression . If the makers of Yu-Gi-Oh cards want them to really pick up they should alter the program so what the card does in TV is the same as what it does in cards , I mean thats obvious . Also Yu-Gi-Oh cards are very expensive compare them to the once famous Pokemon Cards.
Yu-Gi-Oh cards:Booster £3 , 9 cards , 1 rare
Deck £12.99 , 46 cards , 3 shiny
Pokemon Cards(Were 50 times more popular , and lasted much long , better TV program)
Booster £2.50 , 11 cards , 1...

wigifer
Advantages: It's addictive, entertaining, able to keep you amused for certainly a while once you pick it up. If not addicted.

...+I am not a Nerd! - A small preface and explanation+
------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, let us clear one thing up. Yes I am 19. Yes I am nearly 20, and therefore getting on into my old age (Of course...). No I am not the "nerd" people would put me down as because I like Yu-Gi-Oh. I prefer the term "Geek". *Rolls eyes* The rumours that I have a healthy social life which also revolves around things other than cards\computer games, have a beautiful and intelligent girlfriend, play basketball, and am in extremely good shape are, of course, lies. Of course. *Rolls eyes some more*
I'm going to cheat slightly... Whilst I'm focusing on Yu-Gi-Oh the trading card game, I'm bringing into this the alternatives first to the actual cards... Why? Because it might just save you money heeding my experience...
I...

The first ever yu-gi-oh for the GBA
Review of Yu-Gi-Oh Worldwide Edition: Stairway To The Destined Duel(GBA) by
noel13
Advantages: Lots of duelists , cards and unlockables
Disadvantages: would be better as an adventure like game like Sacred cards
...I have not reccomended this game as it would probably only appeal to you if you are a fan of this sort of thing. If you are a Yu-Gi-Oh fan I would advise getting this game in a short period of time.
This game is one of those that never ends and can be played non-stop for a while . Heres why :
Genre : This game is a strategy game based on the popular yu-gi-oh trading cards .
Story : There isn't really a story to this game , basically all dueling .
Gameplay : The gameplay is great , you can battle weak duelists such as Tea and Rex Raptor to get the hang of it and once you think youre up to it you can challenge Pros such as Yugi and Kaiba. Also by doing certain things you can unlock Maximillium Pegasus and Marik Ishtar . During the course of the game there will be tournaments you can enter to win rare cards . Some tournaments...

Yu-Gi-Oh = Fun
Review of Yu-gi-oh by
Emz_Reaper
Advantages: /
Disadvantages: /
...Its the Yu-Gi-Oh card game, finally released, which has taken ages for it to get to the UK.
Some of you might be thinking what is Yu-Gi-Oh, why should I buy the cards? why should I even bother getting them? does this game make sense? Well, Yu-Gi-Oh is a childrens anime series, that is on various tv channels, mainly Sky One, and Sky One Mix. As you would see in any episode you Yu-Gi-Oh, there would normally be a card duel going on. Sometimes it can be thrilling, sometimes it can be plain boring. But now you are able to be the master, the duel king, the big cheeze, as you now poses the power to buy the cards, and become the 'One'.
The only problem is that the cards cost a lot, each booster pack that contains 9 cards, costs around £3 each, and the decks cost £8 each, which can be very dear if you plan on collecting a lot of cards...

YuGiOh GX - the next generation
Review of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller (NDS) by
wulfy
Advantages: Combines random duels with a good storyline
Disadvantages: The story duels can be very difficult to win
...YuGiOh GX Spirit Caller is the latest in the YuGiOh series of games. You are a new student at the YuGiOh academy with friends Jaden and Syrus, in the lowly Red dorm. You attend lessons and take tests but spend most of your time duelling your fellow students and playing shadow games.
You start with a basic deck and can only play against fellow red dorm students. As you duel you build up points which can be spent at the school store to buy new cards and experience points to increase your school level. Once you have duelled other characters several times, they register as your friend and this is the key to getting involved in the story.
If you have seen the cartoon on television then the story will be familiar. Once you have met the criteria other characters will come to your room and challenge you to a duel or will send you...

Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories - Hard Game
Review of Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories (PSX) by
DamienShepherd12345
Advantages: Brilliant Game if you like Yu-Gi-Oh
Disadvantages: Not that modern
...Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories is a Trading Card game, is very good game and also very hard. I think its good because of the graphics and the 3D card battle. Too bad this game wasnt a bit more modern because it would of had all of the new cards on it. You start of by playing a campaign, name your character and you start the game. You can also battle with friends and also trade with them aswell.
Campaign starts of quite easy just so you can learn the grips of the game, but it does turn hard when you reach the tournament with Yugi. Also once you have fought someone you can save and leave the campaign and play them in a free duel and it helps to play easy characters to get starchips (will tell you more about starchips in the review), you also have a library to check what cards you have and what fusions you have made.
Two Player Battle...

Yu-Gi-Oh !!
Review of Yu-gi-oh by
Mongo_Mokusho
Advantages: Realy fun, helps you train with strategies and new stuff comes out.
Disadvantages: Loose out on lots of money.
...Intro
This is my Yu-Gi-Oh story it all started when i heard a new cool show was comin out i obviously watched it and i thought it was cool then oa week or two later my mum brought me a pack of them, that's when it started .I'm writing this one on my own experiance (finally). I used to collect Yu-Gi-Oh cards back in the days and was collecting them for round lets say 2-3 years.
General stuff
This game realiy improves your mind to think more strategically, also its realy fun once you play around with many people. The first time you play most people reccomend a starter deck i agree ( this way you have decent cards). I was lookin at other reviews and i saw people chattin about the mat so here i go. When you start dueling people you might need a mat but eventualy you realise its extremely annoying, so after a week of duelin you...
