Advantages: Excellent False Lash Effect Mascara.
Disadvantages: Pricey but well worth the money

...I was collared by the Yves Saint Laurent lady a couple of months back, and she suggested the Faux Cils Mascara. At first when she said what the price of the mascara was, I thought there was no way I was spending that sort of money on a mascara, but to date its worked out to be the best mascara I have ever purchased. Being a makeup lover, I have tried many products over the years, the mascara I used to use before the YSL Mascara was the Clinique High Impact Mascara, which has a similar effect. But when I tried this mascara, I was really impressed by the way it separates and gives volume to the lashes, at the end of the day everyone's eye lashes are different, but mine are not the best, with mascara's in the past I have found that some mascara's make my eyes look like spiders legs, but with this mascara I only needed one coat... It may be a little on the expensive side but it has worked for me, a couple of years ago I cut my eyelashes in boredom and really regret it now but I have found the perfect mascara magic wand that has given me great lashes again. ...I've been using Boots No7 waterproof volume mascara for ages, but last week I thought I would try something new. I've been pleased with Rimmel make-up before but had never tried one of the mascaras. It was only £4.90 from Superdrug, which was a lot cheaper than the £9 I'd been paying for No7. I always go for volume mascaras to open up my eyes in the morning when I'm still half asleep! And always waterproof ones which is why I went for this particular one. Packaging It comes in a blue bottle, with a modern shape, with Rimmel Volume flash written across it in silver lettering. The bottle is quite a good size and overall it looks good. The Mascara The mascara has a thin brush applicator but with really short bristles, almost like one that has already been used loads. I'm not sure if this is a design feature... Read review

...Maybelline Volum' Express is a mascara by Maybelline that has been around for quite a while now. I remember it being advertised in my mum's magazines when I was younger and admiring the model's eyelashes! There are a lot of versions around: waterproof with a curved brush, waterproof with a standard brush, etc etc. I bought the waterproof one with a normal brush, which comes in a rounded, thick silver tube with metallic navy writing, containing 10ml. You can expect to pay around £5 for the mascara - all the versions cost the same price. There are three colours: black, blacky brown and navy, same as all other Maybelline mascaras, but I have never seen the navy one available. ...I used the Volume Shocking mascara for the first time last August 2005. It was the best mascara I'd had, as I like to have a very "made-up" look without applying lots of layers. The foundation layer is white, and lays the foundation to construcyt the "spder lashes", when you put a top layer of the black coating. I found the triangle-shaped caps quite fiddly, because they are quite a strange shape to get hold of steadily. The white reservoir lasted longer than the black, and the brush ended up a kind of grey colour after a few days' usage - I must have cross-used them at some point! The big build up is no let down, as the top coat only needs to be applied once, so after you've applied your white layer, the comb-like top coat brush actually coats and combs and separates the thickened white lashes, and if you take it SLOWLY... ...Maybelline Intense XXL Volume + Length Mascara I've tried quite a few different mascaras, but I must say that this really doesn't live up to its claim. I found Maybelline Intense XXL Volume + Length Mascara to be a pretty average product. I wouldn't say that it is anything special that I would repeatedly purchase. To create the XXL volume and Length the mascara is double wanded: one is white, which creates length, and the other is black, which gives extreme volume. After having tried the product, I found the brush left my lashes clumped. I also found that because it is double ended it can take quite a while to apply. The only good thing I would say about this mascara is that if you accidentally rub your eyes after its dried, it won't smudge. Overall, I wouldn't say the product was worth the money.... Read review

...After seeing the adevrtisement on T.V. for "L'Oréal Paris Volume Shocking mascara" and swayed by the claim of 12x the volume , the glamour and the hype....I bought it... This is a two-step mascara which consists of a base-coat and a top-coat. and claims to " provide the most explosive volume ever!.. At £10.99 it was quite expensive, but I thought it must be worth it. Later that evening with time to myself I decided to try it, sitting in front of the bathroom mirror with remover and wipes at the ready I opened the mascara which comes apart to reveal 2 separate applicators.. 1 brush.. 1 comb.. ...to the label it: Visibly lengthens lashes 40% and creates up to 6X the volume. ...product to remove with just water or even makeup wipes and no matter what I did, I still had "panda eyes" the next day because it was impossible for me to clean thw whole product off. However, after some time i found that if i wore a better mascara that separated the eyelashes before and then put this on it did add volume and look quite good. But, to be honest, the prices in the shops are too high for the quality of product you are buying and I wouldn't really recommend this, as bourjois have much better mascaras on the market....
