...FINE TO PIX FUJI I have owned the Fuji Film FinePix Z10 for around two months. It is red and quite funky. I am not a trendy teenager, in fact I am over sixty, but really love it's trendy appearance and also the fact that it is neat enough just to slip in my pocket or handbag. It is also funky enough to draw admiring glances from other people, especially youngsters. It is easy to download pictures on to my PC which with other cameras has sometimes been a problem. There is an extensive handbook with it, which as yet I have only read the basic instructions. I am sure there is much more that I could do with my camera. Every time i use it I discover new things it can do and am loving experimenting with it. ...I love this camera! I was bought it as a present from a photography obsessed relative and he wouldn't buy me rubbish. The package: digital FinePix camera Z10fd, Li-on battery NP-45, battery charger, handy strap, USB cable, A/V cable, CD-ROM and manual. Technical part: works on windows Vista, XP home, XP Pro, 2000 Pro. 7.2 mega pixals, 3x optical zoom and 2.5 incg LCD screen Handy extras (not supplied) - XD picture memory card and carry case. Memory card is deffinately recommended so you can take more pictures and a carry case would be nice although I don't use one as it's small and light enough to fit in the pocket of my handbag. Not being a camera person and never really using one before I found this easy to set up and install on my PC. The menus are easy to navigate and there is a more than ample choice of shooting modes... ...I decided to buy these speakers for the following reasons: 1) Both units have a built in sub woofer, which means that you can supposedly get a nice crisp base sound without the drawback of having to find space for a sub woofer. I mostly use my PC at uni which has a tiny desk and not much storage space, so not having a sub woofer is a great advantage. 2) The looks/features. These speakers look very nice. The black finish has a polished appearance and look very nice stood either side of my black and silver ViewSonic monitor. The LCD is also of the same type as the display on the G-15 keyboard so all of the display mods are compatible with the Z-10's. Right...now to the review proper. ...Fujifilm's high-spec semi-pro series, the Finepix S6500fd fits nicely in to Fujifilms range between the slightly higher spec S9500 and the lower spec S5600. It actually has many of the features of the S9500 including the f2.8-f4.9, 10.7x optical zoom lens and if truth be known, is not far off being the same price, the same size and the same weight as the S9500. The S6500 is supposed to be the lower-spec camera, so it lacks a few of the S9500's features. It only has a 6.3-megapixel SuperCCD HR sensor, compared to a 9.0-megapixel sensor. The 2.5in, 235,000 pixel LCD monitor is bigger and sharper, but lacks the S9500's fold-out ability. It has a more basic layout, which means that some useful features, like the self-timer, are relegated to the menu. It also lacks the cable release thread on the shutter button. ...Brilliant, user friendly Digital camera! Well done Sony. Chose FD 90 over FD 85. Mavica range was recommended by existing users and I did not consider any other manufacturers. The most difficult task was to choose from the Mavica range. This camera's greatest attribute is recording to floppy disk. No hassle transfers to PC. Camera also has a disk copying feature for on the spot copying. Excellent for web site creation or e-mail transmission of images. Has 16X digital zoom. One of the main purchase criteria for a digital camera was the ability to also have a wide angle lens. This was available as an extra but not many cameras have this option which is essential for internal shots, etc. Various filters are also available of which I also ordered two and a reasonable range of accessories for this camera appears in Sony's catalogue. ...by this example! If this machine has a fault, this would be that it's slow progressing through it's cycle. This is due to it's efficiency characteristics, but it may be annoying, if you are saving several loads of washing for the same day and the pressure is on to get them washed. When it comes to spin, the machine will stop, if the load is badly distributed, rather than shaking itself to pieces.But this means you need to keep a periodic check on it, if you want your washing back! If all is well, when the machine finishes it's cycle, it plays a sweet little chime to say " I'm Free! " The one aspect most people will like about the WM12225FD is the simplicity of the machine to use and the easy-to-read instructions. ...Having replaced my Fuji S5500 with the Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd, I was a little taken aback at the controls and the size of the owners manual. The quality of the photos are totally outstanding and it has 10mb of internal memory, nice touch. but no supplied XD card, I guess a trade off has to be made somewhere. The large LCD screen makes taking pics easier and coupled with the automatic face detection it helps to ensure that the faces are by and large in focus. There is a large range of presets and there is the manual mode where the user can, if they know what to do, can achieve professional quality images with ease. ...The Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd is an excellent 'bridge' camera for those wishing to move up from the traditional compact type. Whilst lacking in some of the features you find on the more expensive Digital SLRs, this camera produces excellent quality photographs at A4 print quality, and extremely easily too in automatic mode and when using the excellent face detection mode. With this money you are never going to get the flexibility of cameras such as the Canon EOS 400D with its interchangeable lenses, optional flash guns and remote shutter releases, however what you do get is an integrated, and capable, Fujizon 28-300m lens with 2x digital zoom, producing high quality 6.3M pixel photographs for a fraction of the price of DSLRs.
