This camera has a good start up time of around 1.7 seconds, although there are some faster starting cameras available this is the fastest in this price range. Problems A problem that I find on many cameras is the viewing quality on the screen seems to decrease if the camera is set to a night mode function. This makes it hard to see what your are taking a picture of clearly and this camera is no exception. Another problem I found was that the battery life was not as good as I would have suspected with only around 200 pictures being taken before the lithium battery dies. Advantages: Small, good picture quality, better than expected battery life

...An excellent camera for the money. Takes an excellent photo in good light, and reasonable photo in poor light. Picture quality to ISO400 is good as is colour rendition. Battery life is better than expected as you don't need to use the flash as most as many small cameras. Nice bright LCD. Excellent build quality. On the down-side, the flash is not strong enough for group pictures indoors and the lens is a target for fingerprints. The tripod mount is on the charging cradle (rectified with the Z5fd). While many people dislike charging cradles, I like the fact that you don't need to remove the battery for charging. If batterly life was not as good, then his may be an issue - but it isn't.
