Kodak Z740

Advantages: Nice Design, Functions Easy, Great Pictures.
Disadvantages: Lens Cap, Battery is not rechargable

...I have owned three Kodak cameras and one Fuji and this is the best so far. Before this camera I used the Z760 and I didn't like it as much as the Z740 even though it is a 6.1 megapixel camera. Outside pictures are beautiful and indoor with low or no light are very nice. The 10x optical is where I found this camera to shine. The adjustments are easy even for a beginner and the pictures that come out will definately impress even the professional. When the lens adjusts to the scenery it is a bit slow sometimes but nothing a beginner would even notice. But I am very impressed with the Kodak optics. I have taken 8 x 10 pictures with this camera. The clarity that comes from the pictures is amazing. One picture I took and blew up to 8 x 10 was in my living room in almost total darkness and it came out beautiful as if it was well...

Advantages: great for value;10x optical zoom; sharp and colourful prints
Disadvantages: cheaper packages available if you dont need the 10x zoom, camera is abit bulky

In a league of its own

Good things in small bundles

...Used the Z740 for 18 months now and would recommend it to anyone wanting a decent performance in a reasonable size at a budget price. I had already put my Canon EOS 500 SLR to one side because of its size/weight and been using a small fixed focus telephoto compact. This chunky little camera, which fits in a handbag, has a better focal range than the SLR with its (massive) 300mm lens. On safari in Kenya recently and really pleased with the results - great close ups and action shots - including my first attempts at video. You should see the one of the fish eagle pouncing on the water! If I did this type of wildlife holiday again I'd probably buy a teleconverter to get even closer. The 5mp gives me great A4 prints at home and for watching on TV or the computer. You can buy accessories/lenses reasonably on ebay. Downsides - no manual focus...

Kodaking Brilliant

Advantages: Looks Like A pro camera packed full of features!

...quality and in keeping with the cameras colour and style. The biggest problem I have found which really annoyed me was the fact it didn't come with a rechargeable battery! The z740 uses Duracell ultra like I eat coco pops. It devours them so quickly so if your away and like me are not fortunate enough to have a rechargeable battery make sure you stock up on lots of batteries! To sum this camera up it is superb! Well built and durable, by far one of the more advanced cameras on the market in its class but still a long way to go as far as a professional camera goes. This camera will have more than enough features on it to fulfil the photographic requirements of most snapshoters like myself but don't be fooled this camera is a snapshot camera!
