Kawasaki Z750 - Commute, scratch and tour.

Advantages: Handles well for a 'budget' bike, friendly for newbies and fun for the experienced. Engine good
Disadvantages: Suspension could do with improvement, brakes are only so-so.

...Well, having passed my full motorcycle test (Restricted A2, 33bhp for 2 years) back in December, I wanted to quickly get rid of my 2k7 (and getting very expensive to run (+ uneconomical, noisy and useless at long distance faster riding) RS125. I kind of bought the Z750 on impulse. It was a good price for me (some £400 below parkers list) and for a 5 year old bike, incredibily clean. I would commute and enjoy occasional fun runs for about 800 miles before getting it restricted to comply with the (IMO!!) stupid EU regulations, so obviously performance now is merely adequate, but beforehad the 750's powerplant would give you all the performance you'd need (and want) on a public highway! Handling wise, well, let's say that in the corners it has no trouble dealing with being thrown about, so long as the road isn't really bumpy, then...

Kawasaki Z750 2007

Advantages: Excellent value, awesome looks, easy to live with.
Disadvantages: Relatively expensive insurance.

...I passed my DAS test earlier this year and spent a few months researching which bike to buy. I had a budget of around £5,000 which was not quite enough to buy the new 2007 model Kawasaki Z750. I have always liked the look and shape of the Z750, which I think is even more improved in the 2007 model. When I found out that there had been a price drop and 0% interest offer on the new model, I went straight to my local Kawasaki dealer. I bought a brand new black Z750 and although I can't really compare it to any other bike (as this is my first) I absolutely love it. I have just completed the 600 mile run-in which has enabled me to get more used to the bike and improve my general skills. For a novice, the bike is very forgiving considering how powerful it is and I can sense that it will keep me interested for many years to come...

Casio's little miracle

Advantages: Small, light, full of features, build quality

...The Casio EXILIM EX-750Z is my first compact digital camera. My other cameras have been "large" ones. My main camera is a Canon EOS 20D, which is great when I go out on a photo shoot, but much too big to take everywhere with you. I wanted something to keep by my side at all times and that's why I chose the EX-750Z. It wasn't cheap but it's certainly value for money. Please forgive me if I miss out any of the functions but there are just so many. It takes Secure Digital memory cards but doesn't come with one. It's got a small built in memory but that's a joke really. You can only take about 5 photos with that. I bought a 1gb card for mine and with that you can get anything between 220 best quality (3072x2304) photographs to over 4700 low resolution (VGA 640x480). Audio recording gives you just over 50 hours and it will record...

Review of Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z750

Suzuki SV650(s) : Simply..a damn good bike

Advantages: Light, economical, easy to ride and fun. Comfortable too.
Disadvantages: Sound with standard can! Niggly quality issues..

...After my Z750 was written off (not pleased!) I had to find a replacement bike. I eventually decided to get an SV650s. I plumped for a used 2000 model "curvy" SV (as pictured) I'll sum it up pretty easily for you guys Engine Carbed Vtwin with a 650cc (near enough!) capacity. Pulls well from between 2000 and 10,000, anything higher is wasted breath. Has no problem starting in the mornings which is nice from the previous carbed bike I owned. Sounds meaty with an aftermarket can, with the standard bazooka tube it sounds like a lawnmower. Handling and brakes My particular one has Hagon progressive fork springs at the front, with 10w oil (A popular and effective mod) and a rear shock from a ZX10r. It's been set up for the previous rider and works well for me. I can honestly say that in this setup, it handles better...

Poor picture quality

Advantages: Cheap, small.
Disadvantages: Average picture and poor video audio, fiddly USB connector, poorly placed zoom lever.

...I bought this camera as a cheap third camera to carry around all the time. With this review, I compared the samsung to another compact I have, the casio exilim Z750, note this is an older 7.2 megapixel camera. For serious stuff I use my Nikon DSLRs. Picture quality On the whole, very average quality outdoors and the camera doesn't handle differences with light and dark too well, e.g. very bright sun and dark shadow. In this case, the camera overexposes and produces unbalanced pictures. It does this even in normal light conditions. The colours are also washed out. Not impressed. After a few weeks of ownership and comparison with the casio, it definitely has poor quality. To be fair though, the casio compact whilst older was a lot more expensive. Usability I walked around the garden and house taking identical pictures...
