My Zafira Experiences
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Elegance 2.0 dti by
abdrewawolfe
Advantages: The extra rear seats are always with you folded under the floor
Disadvantages: You have to empty the middle row to get the rear row out, no sliding doors
...basic to full cover.
Recommendation
------------------------
Overall the vehicle is extremely practical - if you look upon a car as a vehicle with a job to do: get people and/or stuff from A to B efficiently, safely and in comfort then the versatility and equipment on this Zafira matches the requirements well.
Statistics
------------
Vauxhall have pulled the official figures off of their site but my real life figures, as reported by the onboard computer should give a guide.
Fuel consumption on a tank used mostly for short journeys (between 4 and 10 miles) is approximately 38mpg
Fuel consumption on a tank used for long motorway journeys at around 70mph is 50-55 mpg
Fuel consumption on a tank used for long motorway journeys at around 55-60mph is 60mpg or better.
0-60 time - not great but the turbo generally gives...

Zafir NOT
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Life 1.8i 16v by
KELLYLOUJ
Advantages: Spacious, Number of Safety Features.
Disadvantages: Not great value for money
...The Vauxhall Zafira is one of the most popular compact MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) on the market. Out of all its competitors it accounts for 40% of all 7 seater MPV Sales.
*~*~*Which model am I reviewing?*~*~*
I am reviewing the Vauxhall Zafira Life 1.8i 16v petrol model with 140bhp that we hired for 4 days.
It is the latest model from Vauxhall after recently being revamped last year, it is a 5 door model with a seating capacity for 7 passengers.
The Zafira does come in different engine sizes as you would expect the smallest being a 1.6i and the largest being a 2.0i Turbo with 240bhp.
*~*~*Styling*~*~*
The New redesigned Zafira is a lot sleeker and sexier than the previous model however it is still not that easy on the eye.
Less aggressive styling makes it a bit more family car orientated than people carrier, also...

Zafira 1.6 Dual Fuel helps the environment
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Design 1.6i 16v Dualfuel by
LJOne
Advantages: Economical and environmentally friendly
Disadvantages: Sometimes finding those autogas filling stations is a challenge
...THE VAUXHALL ZAFIRA
The Vauxhall Zafira was launched in 1999 with the 1.6 and 1.8 litre petrol or 2.0 Di diesel engines. Air conditioning was standard in all but the entry level model. However, in 2000 the entry or base level was discontinued and the Zafira was left with the Club, Comfort and Elegance models. In April 2002 the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) / petrol dual fuel option was introduced with a 1.8 litre engine and by August 2002 a 1.6 litre LPG dual fuel option arrived in Comfort trim only. Later in the year there were 1.6 and 1.8-litre LPG Design dual fuel models available.
The Zafira was innovative when it was launched. Seven seats over three rows were squeezed into the people carrier, but due to the pioneering Flex7 system, you could fold up to five of them to suit any journey. Safe handling is also ideal for drivers...

Zafira - Oh how I love you. Check out my hands.
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Club 1.6i by
dhillcrest
Advantages: 7 seats, decent drive. Ours is silver.
Disadvantages: Not a lot - a bit ugly.
...Pleurisy now diminishing, what say I launch into a 5-year progress report on our much respected, if not exactly loved Zafira. According to Wiki, the Zafira was named after a Hungarian porn actress called Zafira. She recently underwent breast enlargement because one breast was larger than the other. Hey - same's true of my hands. We should meet.
Here's an early disclaimer:
I know bugger all about cars. I let mankind down. I am as worthless as a worm.
I can drive.
I know where the petrol goes.
So, purpose of disclaimer is to get people who watch Top Gear off my back from the off. There will be no talk of bhp, torque or carburettors. Hey -I spelt it right. No red line. Cool. This will be a simple explanation of experience/costs/likes and dislikes and practical stuff like wot I do know about. All technical stuff will be dispelled...

Zippy Zafira
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Design 1.6i 16v by
stitch99
Advantages: It's big
Disadvantages: Visibility
...I wonder how we managed without our Zafira. It is like having your own tardis with the amount of room there is. And get this one, I was told it is a sexy car too. Not sure I'd go that far but it certainly does look stylish and for something so big it is pretty sleek.
We usually have the extra seats down at the back because they do limit the amount of space in the boot. We only have them up when we have our grandchildren with us because they think it's cool to sit right back there. Luckily they are small because there isn't really a lot of legroom back there. The main reason we like all the space in the boot is because we go camping. There;s only two of us that go now but we still lke to take all mod cons with us including a very large tent. No bother getting it all in and that's without putting any more seats down. The flex...

Vauxhall Zafira Comfort 1.8i
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Comfort 1.8i by
puppenay
Advantages: Easy steering, lovely action, everything to hand, nets and storage space good, versatile seating.
Disadvantages: Lack of storage space when all seats being used, rear lights keep blowing.
...We had to purchase a new vehicle very quickly as we only own one and our previous vehicle caught fire - we only had two free weeks use of our insurance company's car. The Zafira was an easy winner. It is very light to handle and the steering action is lovely. I have a family so versatility of space was a necessity. We have carried all sorts of sports equipment in the back - some large. We have used it for changing after sports events as well as changing babies nappies!! We have even carried long thin items of bathroom trim home, being able to poke the length through the back seat armrest whole, as it unfolds. We have transported a halfdrum sized barbeque and stand too, with the back seats down. Another advantage of the Zafira, for someone not very technically minded like me, is that the alterations to the seating/storage are very straight...

Zipping about in a Zafira
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Elegance 2.0 dti by
Allthegoodnameshavebeentaken
Advantages: Economical 7 seater. Versatile seating arrangements
Disadvantages: ONly lap belt in middle of middle row. Blind spots
...I have had this car for 18 months (it was 2 years old when bought) so now feel qualified to comment on it.
It was bought due to the imminent arrival of our fourth child. We needed another seat and found that the Zafira offered the most at the price we could afford. We also took into account fuel economy and the price of insurance. Running costs are not significantly more than the 4 door diesel saloon we had previously.
The Zafira is neatly packaged. The seating system is very clever. Easy to use and versatile. It is quick and easy to put up an extra seat in the back at any time as it folds into the floor. With 5 seats up there is great boot space but with all 7 up there is precious little space for shopping, etc. Only the smallest of buggies fit win the boot with all seven seats.
We took our family of six people...

Zafira lives up to flexible adverts
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Comfort 1.8i by
grannyjan
Advantages: flexibility of inside, comfortable seats
Disadvantages: semi thirsty in town/city driving
...As a granny, I need a car that can take various combinations of adults, children and babies. As a person with arthritis, I need a high seated car, with ewide opening doors, comfortable, back supporting seats and roon for a wheelchair. As a lady with a job in central London I need a car that can cope with all the traffic jamx, and still not cost too much to run. It sounded like an impossible combination -and then I saw adverts for the Zafira.
I tried out a Zafira one weekend as a rented car, and was smitten. I get my cars on a 3 year lease from Motability, so I was interested in how much of my Disability Living Allowance it would take = every last penny, and it has been well worth it. The down side is the high initial deposit on the lease. The advantage is the flexibility, and the comfort. We have tried just about every internal...

the zafira club 1.6
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Club 1.6i by
cfcjay
Advantages: looks and fills like your driving a car
Disadvantages: seven seats
...of space and there's lots of room. But i must state my children are young my oldest is only 8.If you had two adults in the two back seats .They will struggle for space, not much space for there legs. But that's from my experience like i say im tall ,but other people have said the same to me when they been in the back.So if its just you and your children its deffently big enough. On this car the boot is the biggest let down basically you don't get one, with the fold down buggy that's it full.So if your be using all the seats you may want to think twice before getting the zafira. In my family there's only six of us so we leave one back seat folded down which gives me extra space as a boot.Getting in and out the back is good the three middle seats slide forward and you push the top down and then the kids can climb in ,you can get in from the boot...

My Wonderful Euro Import Zafira -Save money!
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Elegance 2.2i by
Louise2828
Advantages: Great seat flexibility, large luggage stow, great road handling
Disadvantages: Interior plastic heaven, blind spots at door posts
...My Zafira is actually a European import being an Opel. The spec is exactly the same as UK models, but we got the onboard computer normally charged as extra, as standard with the Opel. We bought through the company 'Motorpoint of Derby,' on the internet and saved ourselves nearly £4500 on UK prices for a brand new car. You get a full warrantly and have no problem with servicing at the main dealers.
I love my Zafira. It's big on the inside small on the outside which makes it easier to park than the larger MPV's. It has great seat flexibilty seating a maximum of 7. Even in the two seats at the back I have seated 2 adults comfortably giving them extra leg room by pulling the seat forward.
Luggage stow is excellent. If you have a large item to transport seats 6 and 7 fold down flat into the floor. Then flip up the middle seats...
