Good Golly Miss Molly
Review of Zapf Molly Doll by
dibalmond
Advantages: Pretty face, well made, not too noisy
Disadvantages: none
...My 3-year-old daughter loves dolls. She likes changing them, feeding them, cuddling them and putting them to bed. She already has baby Annabell but this Christmas I decided to get her Molly.
Molly is a doll from the Zapf Creation range. Zapf Creation is a doll manufacturer also responsible for Baby Born, it’s best selling doll, Baby Annabell, Chou Chou and Maggie Raggies.
Max and Rosa Zapf established Zapf Creation in Rodental, Germany in 1932. These first dolls were made of papier-mâché by Rosa Zapf and women in and around Rodental and then Max Zapf would go out and about selling them.
In 1958 Brigitte and Willi Zapf, second generation of the Zapf family, expanded the business to include the European markets. In the 1960’s Zapf Creation produced the first dolls made of plastic instead of celluloid.
In 1991...

Tears under the Christmas-tree
Review of Zapf Baby Annabell by
fritzthecat
Advantages: She is so cute you just have to love her
Disadvantages: The accessories are extremely expensive
...From the moment on, that our daughter Anna ( will be 5 in February) first saw an advert for Zapf's Baby Annabell she kept on begging to have one. As christmas came closer her only worry seemed to that Santa might not know that "all she ever wanted" was Baby Annabell.
So my husband and me decided to have a word with the man himself and a few days before Christmas we were able to collect the newest addition to our household - from the local Argos store.
Now, we do not have one daughter, but two, and as Melis (3 1/2) always wants the same as her older sister, we didn't go to pick up one baby, but two.
The delivery was swift and easy. We gave our order numbers to the counter, paid 34.99 ( per doll) and a considerably higher sum for some off Annabells acccesories, waited in the pre-christmas queue for about half an hour - and voila...

Look mum I am swimming like my doll
Review of Zapf My Little Baby Born I Can Swim by
ldvda
Advantages: Encourages your little one to want to swim
Disadvantages: Needs batteries
...I can gurantee that if you have got a little girl in your house that you have got a Zapf doll, either baby annabell, baby born or baby choo choo. Every season they bring new items for the dolls or a new version of the doll. The latest edition to their collection is the Zapf My Little Baby Born Mummy look I can swim! When looking through the Argos catolgue with my little girl we spotted this and asked if Santa could bring it for her one for Christmas. Everytime she saw it on TV as well she asked for it. After asking for it for about 2 months I agreed she could have one so her Nan got her one for Christmas.
Come Christmas day would she still want it? Yes it did, another present that made her smile. Luckly as she knew it was for the bath we did not have to open it there and then. When we did have to open it though it was a bit...

The 'real life' plastic baby!
Review of Zapf Baby Born Creations by
Fruity_Tart
Advantages: Good for those wannabe mums, pretty lifelike
Disadvantages: EXPENSIVE isn't the word...
...Most of us have been there. When we're little girls all we want to do is have a baby of our own to look after, when we've actually got a baby all we want to do is send it back but there you go. Zapf Creations have come up with the answer to little girls dreams. Baby Born is a plastic baby doll which not only drinks from a bottle, cries 'real' tears and eats but will also poo on her potty.
It's pretty lifelike. From a distance it actually looks like a real baby, albeit a very still and quiet one, and is the right sort of size for a newish baby. Baby Born has moveable arms and legs and her head will turn from side to side, although not all the way round in an Exorcist parody! Her face is particularly lifelike with the dreamy not quite fully open eyes that newborn babies have and a puckered little mouth that looks like it's just...

Let me put annabell to bed mum before I go to bed
Review of Zapf Baby Annabell Doll by
ldvda
Advantages: The smile on your child's face
Disadvantages: Comes with to much stuff
...of tissues and a romper suit with a matching hat.
They are trying to make this doll more and more real life it is scary. This doll is 46cm long which is the same length as other versions and other Zapf dolls so if you have outfits for other Zapf dolls it will fit her. Her head, feet and hands are plastic and the rest of her is soft body. Her bodice is where the batteries go via the back and where the ON/OFF switch is so is solid here as well. With each version they bring two types out a white version and an ethic version out so people can have a choice on what colour doll they would like they child to play with which is a good idea considering we live in a multi cultural society.
When you place the bottle in her mouth you hear her suck on her bottle and if you fill the bottle with water she will also drinking the water. When you take...

Baby Annabell - Another Super buy for my daughter
Review of Zapf Baby Annabell by
CRAFTYDONNA
Advantages: Life like and fun to play with.
Disadvantages: You may want to take batteries out.
...This is another of my daughters Dolls which she plays with a lot along with her baby newborns (See my other review on these).
Baby Annabell is made by Zapf creations which seem to be the best when it comes to making good quality dolls for your children. This doll is more lifelike than many of the dolls on today's market. She will react like a baby does she will babble, laugh, cry, sucks her dummy with sucking sounds. Baby Annabell reacts to movement and sounds, if you make her jump with loud noises she will cry. If your gentle she will go off to sleep, sing quietly to her seems to work. My daughter seems to care more for this doll and acts more gentle around her because of the way the doll will react. GOOD NEWS FOR PARENTS you can turn it off at the back because sometimes it can drive you crazy when left on. This doll requires 4 x AA...

Mum let me feed Annabell then I'll have lunch
Review of Zapf Baby Annabell Feeding Centre by
ldvda
Advantages: The smile on your child's face
Disadvantages: Bulky and another item to add to the baby annabell collection
...centre occasionally falls off and the hanging toy falls off when this toy is used as a feeding chair but these are tiny things when you see the look on your child's face when playing with it. Also it is two things in one so you don't have to find room for two toys. Another tip store it as a feeding chair as it takes up less room, as a feeding chair the measurements are roughly 28 x 28 x 48 cm and as an activity centre the measurements are roughly 28 x 60 x 35 cm.
Looking around on the net and at the Zapf collection book there are two different ones around, they look the same apart from the colours are different. We have the colour version in the above picture and is the only version I have seen for sale in the UK.
You can buy this from most good toy shop like Smyths. It is priced at £30 but I was lucky to get it from Argos at £23...

baby born
Review of Zapf Baby Born Creations by
mado21
Advantages: life like, plenty of different functions,
Disadvantages: the age that this doll is aimed at should be made higher
...Where do i begin with this doll, it does so many different things, and has so many functions.
Well i will begin by telling you all this i bought this doll for my 3 year old daughter for christmas, who has fed it once and then got fed up with it and is now in her toybox. Every now and again she brings out the doll to go into the bath with her.
This plastic doll is made by zapf creation measuring 43cm from head to toe and comes with a bottle, plate, spoon, dummy, potty, 1 nappy a rubber duck, a bracelet, a birth certificate, 5 packets of baby food and an instruction leaflet. When i bought this doll i paid £29.99 from argos as a special offer price, i think it usually retails for around £30.00 - £35.00 from other stores. May i aslo stress this doll comes dressed in only a vest so there was added expense to buy the doll some clothes...

A mum @ 2 ½
Review of Zapf Baby Annabell by
MiniMe69
Advantages: great life like doll
Disadvantages: can get annoying if left unattended and swtiched on
...with her baby sister or brother, with her baby.
We finally decided on baby Annabel, as this one seemed to fit the bill just perfect. We looked around and checked the prices and finally found that the cheapest at that time was in Argos as they were on 25% off so, I ordered one at our local store for collection to guaranteed no wasted journey.
On to the doll itself
This is the description given by Zapf when you buy baby Annabel
"Baby Annabel reacts like a real baby. She babbles, gurgles and giggles. Give her a bottle or her pacifier and she sucks on it. She even moves her mouth! After her meal Baby Annabel burps. Then she gets tired, yawns and falls asleep. A loud noise will wake her up and she begins to cry. Talking, singing or shaking her rattle calms her down and she babbles happily again. Sometimes she grizzles after having her...

Baby Born - My daughters Favourite Toy
Review of Zapf Baby Born Creations by
CRAFTYDONNA
Advantages: Hours of Play
Disadvantages: Play food - gets messy
...What is Baby Born?
Baby born is a doll made by Zapf Creation and comes in many different versions. My daughter has the original white Dolls and the ethnic doll, she liked the first one so much she wanted another one. When i brought the dolls i got them as a package which included The doll dressed in a baby grow, Dummy, potty, Nappy, bottle, bowl and spoon and some food for the doll, yes you can feed them.
The dolls are approx 43 cm and you can feed them (Only use Baby born food), You can change them as the food does go through the doll and they wet themselves, they Cry real tears too. She also Squeals a little by squeezing her arm. This doll does not need batteries to work which is ideal.
At the time of buying these dolls they cost approx £29.99 but are now a lot cheaper in Argos they sell for £19.99. I have found...
