Stop itching and get a zapper
Review of Rio Bug Zapper by
fbaggy
Advantages: It electrocutes the headlice
Disadvantages: Doesnt kill the nits
...Nits V head lice.......The science
A head louse is a parasite that lives in the hair and scalp and cause irritation. Head lice like clean hair not dirty. A nit is the egg that a head louse lays in your hair.
Head lice can lay approx 150-200 eggs (nits) in the lice’s 40 day life cycle (who was the very very sad person who counted?)
The nits hatch after 9 days and start the cycle all over again.
How does the Rio Bug Zapper work?
The zapper electrocutes the lice (I could wish for a better death but electrocution finishes them off). It doesn’t kill the nits. By killing the lice it breaks the life cycle by preventing reproduction and therefore creating more and more lice.
How to use the Zapper
It is basically a very fine toothed comb that you use through the hair. You use it on DRY hair. Ensure that the head to be combed...

Rio Bug Zapper
Review of Rio Bug Zapper by
honeytone
Advantages: Quick and easy to use and really does work.
Disadvantages: May be difficult to use on very long or curly hair.
...rushed out to buy a Rio Bug Zapper and we tried it out as soon as we got home. The noise is a bit annoying, but nothing compaired to the bugs themselves. Straight away we were electrocuting and catching the little blighters... My Son has shoulder length, straight hair, so the fine toothed comb was easy to use, but I can imagine it would be a bit of a nightmare on longer hair with any curl in it. It only took 10-15 minutes of combing each evening, for two weeks to be rid of them again, so much better than 45 minutes worth of backbreaking wet combing, which everyone hated! We now have a once weekly comb through as a precaution and so far so good.
The only downside we found was that the Bug Zapper tended to give a small shock every now and then when combing around the ears and the nape of the neck. This made my Son a bit nervous when we got...

Remember that review I did some time back about mini eye poppers?? I do as Im craving them right now as I type away to you !!
Well the same company who created the Eye Popper masterpiece have yet another creation -- Zappers. I will warn you that although my review begins on a cheerful note, it ends on a somewhat shocking one. Please read on to dicover why that is. I would also like to point out that I wrote this as I was eating the product so as to gain a truthful and very accurate opinion into them hence the reason my opinion alters so much so as the review goes on.
Now let me get on and tell you about these little sourpusses . . . . .

Wipe out.
Review of Epilady Flea Zapper by
Bigbaz
Advantages: Easy to use.
Disadvantages: Could be dangerous in certain circumstances.
...scratched to pieces due to the cats desire to vacate the room. The dog was no problem at all; in fact he seemed to enjoy it. In any event both the sprays shampoos and powders were only of limited success, at the best just containing the problem. Fleas collars were worse than useless, infact they were a total waste of money. The only option appeared to be a visit to the vet for a course of treatment that is until my wife stumbled across a product in the Argos catalogue.
The article in question is the Epivet Flea Zapper, an electric flea comb which retails at £19.99. Looking like a cross between an American stun gun and a comb for head lice it is less than six inches in length and white in colour.
To operate the zapper you first have to install two AA batteries (Not supplied and rechargeable batteries should not be used) into a compartment...

flea problems flea zapper
Review of Essential Pets Tick Away by
teta
Advantages: it's a dog friendly chemiical free aproce to flea control
Disadvantages: cannot use recahrgable batteries in it
...Bought the flea Zapper as I was fed up of spending tons of money on flea sprays and shampoos which did not work. or kept the fleas of for a few days.
we have used the fles zapper for little over a week and already the fleas are starting to diminish, it recomends you use it for 2 weeks, but I suggest with flea season just starting it might be an idea to use it for longer.
you can also use it more often then once a day, with no ill effects, were using it twice a day once in the morning and again before bed.
it can be onbtained from argos and index stores look in the catalogue, price 19.99.
it takes 2 AA bateries which last about a week, one disadvantatge is you can not use rechargables but this is the only one i have found.
it works by shacking the fleas with a very small voltage of electrcity, that is harmless to dogs and cats...

Review of Nintendo Wii Zapper by
milesy19912007
Advantages: brings the game more to life
Disadvantages: rather plastic and quite expensive
...This product is basically a plastic base for your wii controller to be clipped into and then used as a prpoer arcade style gun. I purchased it 2 weeks ago and have been able to use it with the godfather and red steel. it works just as it should and feels great in the hand. adding a whole new dimension to gaming. it also helped me with the aiming of the wii remote. It is a simple contraption that helps to put you in the game and visualise it better. Take control with the wii Zapper (bit of a silly name though) however you may find that the zapper is not for you as it puts another element of violence into the game as you are holding a replica gun. The gun itself is also pretty fake and not weighty enough to feel anything like the real thing. another bonus of this product is that it is helpful for the older generations. As we know more...

Kill fleas without harmful chemicals
Review of Epilady Flea Zapper by
Stanzi
Advantages: Certainly kills/disables fleas, easier than traditional flea comb
Disadvantages: The noise may put some cats off until they become used to it
...Price: £19.99
Available from Argos
This battery powered comb emits an audible signal which stops whenever it touches a flea which is then killed or stunned by the electric current.
We bought this comb as we were becoming increasingly concerned about the toxicity of the organophosphate-based spot flea treatments we used on our two cats. The problem with traditional flea combs is that once a flea is caught it often manages to escape. The Flea Zapper stuns or kills the flea allowing easy disposal.
Our two cats (Harry and Mouse) weren't used to being combed let alone with something that whined at them, but they've gradually become used to the noise and now quite enjoy their daily combing - for a while at least! From experience it's very important to avoid sensitive areas like ears where they may get an electric shock (not strong...

SPOT ZAPPER
Review of Clearasil Complete by
tonythorpe
Advantages: CLEAR SKIN
Disadvantages: NONE
...OKAY NO ONE WANTS TO ADMIT THEY HAVE SPOTS BUT EVERYONE DOES SUFFER FROM THEM WHETHER IT’S THE ODD HUGE BOIL OR THE SPREADING BLACK HEADS. WELL HERES A SUCCESFUL SOLUTION. THE SOFT AND MILD FORMULA OF CLEARASIL TACKLES SPOTS SUCCESSFULLY BUT DOES NOT DRY YOUR SKIN OUT. MANY OTHER SPOT ZAPPERS DO THIS DRYING OUT AND CONSEQUENTLY YOU SLAP ON THE MOISTURISER MAKING YOUR SKIN GREASY AND HATCHING FURTHER SPOTS. CLEARASIL WORKS BRILLANTLY AND THE TINY MICROBEADS ACTUALLY EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN LEAVING IT FRESH AND CLEAN. THE CHEAP BUT EFFECTIVE WAY TO ZAP SPOTS....

Instant food zapper!!
Review of Sharp R249 by
ladyboymondaytofriday
Advantages: Cooks food superfast - never get hot outside and cold middle - easy to use - good for those on a budget
Disadvantages: None
...What can you say about a microwave oven? It's cooks food and it does it without being too complicated! There - review done! Alas this is Ciao and opinions dare not stop that short so here is my in-depth analysis of what I call my instant food zapper.
Most households nowadays have a microwave oven even if just to warm up meals faster than the conventional oven - to make the delicious microwave popcorn for evenings in front of the television or to actually do all there cooking. I am of course referring to the godsends that are microwave meals for single males. Also known as microwave meals for one.
As luck would have it as an associate of Sharp I qualify thanks to a few words in the right ears for their 30% staff discount when bought direct. I needed a reasonably priced microwave and with the discount plumped for the R249 model...

Review of Sony RM V202T Infrared Universal remote control for TV, VCR, Satellite TV system, DVD player by
AlisonLees
Advantages: you can buy it on line
Disadvantages: doesn't have all the functions you expect
...We needed a new zapper to replace our DVD zapper; since most of our stuff is Sony, this looked ideal. I ordered it on fhe sony website. Prompt hassle-free shopping, no problems. We managed to programme our freeview box on the satellite control and our non-sony video onto the vcr control, and everything was hunky dory.
Some of the buttons are a bit fiddly, and it was tricky doing the programming, because you couldn't tell if you'd pressed the buttons right. It is better to have only 1 zapper, and I was prepared to put up with the tricky buttons.
Until we came to watch digital television with subtitles. You can't do it. There isn't a button. So we are back to 2 zappers.
Customer service? Useless. I'd already thrown away the box and receipt, since I thought it worked, so couldn't be bothered to try and send it back...
