Never Wash By Hand Again
Review of Zanussi-Electrolux ZDF 511/ZDF 511 S by
XTubbzX
Advantages: Time Saving, Environmentally Friendly, Efficent, Range Of Functions
Disadvantages: Quite Noisy, Quite Expensive If Bought New
...I had never used a dishwasher before in my life, i had always had to settle for the kitchen sink but with my life being so jam packed with things to do and with money to spare i thought i would buy this Zanussi-Electrolux ZDF 511/ZDF 511 S.
The delivery man turned up on a friday morning and i gave him a hand unloading it into our kitchen.
It was love at first sight this dishwasher was elegantly made and its silver body and stylish design fitted into my kitchen magnificently.
Once i had stopped admiring my new appliance's beauty the delivery man was unwrapping it and getting it ready to install. I left him alone with a cup of tea and left him to get on with it.
About 40 mins later it was installed and he was showing me to work it.
Showing me all of its different wash functions i wondered to myself how many will i be actually...

No more scrubbing!!!!
Review of Zanussi-Electrolux ZDF 231/ZDF 231 S by
kg7904
Advantages: economical and easy to use
Disadvantages: none
...Our dishwasher had broken down one time to many and as we've had it for some years now and it was given to us second hand then we decided the time had come to remove the cobwebs from our wallets and buy a new one!!! We chose the Zanussi ZDF231 which is a full size dishwasher that has been rated triple A grades for cleaning performance, energy efficiency and drying performance.
The dimensions are pretty regular for a full sized dishwasher so there was no issue filling the predecessor's place!!
The dimensions are:
Height 85 cm Width 60 cm Depth 61 cm
The dishwasher can hold 12 place settings and there are 5 different programmes including economy wash and a quick 30 minute setting, though I personally use half the place settings for saucepans etc and only ever seem to use the 'pot and pan' wash!
There are the advantages...

Call Her Anne--with an E
Review of Anne Of Green Gables DVD by
zerbine28
Advantages: Superb casting; pitch-perfect turns by Follows, Dewhurst, Farnsworth; splendid adaptation of the first “Anne” book.
Disadvantages: At 195 minutes of running time, it still leaves you wanting more.
...sentimentality meant to draw cheap tears and reflexive “awwwww”s from audiences.
I’m happy to report that this miniseries has none of these, having had the good fortune to be born outside of Hollywood. Produced by Canada’s CBC, with help from the US’ PBS and Germany’s ZDF, it first aired in the US in 1985 on the PBS Wonderworks program.
Director/writer Kevin Sullivan and co-writer Joe Wiesenfeld have created a splendid adaptation of the book. It’s not a slavish translation, but stays spiritually faithful to the source. The film is set twenty years later than events in the book, characters and scenes are transposed, events condensed, and a few wholly made-up vignettes and transitional scenes are tossed in. Minor characters are fleshed out and loose plot elements tightened. Finally, a coherence and flow are added to Montgomery’s rather episodic...

'Pillars' of history
Review of Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett by
mum52
Advantages: compelling reading, packed full of action and detail
Disadvantages: compelling reading and lots of pages
...of all those he came into contact with.
Ken Follett wrote 'Pillars' in less than the thirty plus years taken to construct the fictional Kingsbridge Cathedral, yet this novel is a spectacular piece of writing that stands the test of time, in exactly the same way as a cathedral. This book has been permanently 'in print' since first publication.
~ A prize-winner worth revisiting ~
According to his official website, www.ken-follett.co.uk, 'Pillars' was voted into the top 100 books in BBC's "The Big Read", and in October 2004 viewers of Germany's ZDF TV channel voted 'The Pillars of the Earth' Germany's third-most popular book, beaten by 'The Lord of the Rings' and the Bible. I'm not in the least surprised by these statistics; I've just read the book for the third time, at least one reviewer on Amazon has read 'Pillars' five times...

Cheap and Cheerful Venetian Beds
Review of Delfino Hotel, Mestre by
zoe_page
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: A short bus ride from Venice proper
...like the photos on the website: two neat beds, a wardrobe, the usual bedside fixtures, a desk, a fridge (not a mini bar you had to subtly empty before stashing your own drinks) and TV (lots of Italian, CNN, ZDF (German) and, we discovered sadly too late in the stay, free porn if you scrolled high enough). My room was smaller and more sparsely furnished, just two beds and a chair, but still nice. My room was plain – white bedding, walls, no real decoration, while the girls’ room was wooden rather than white, and had the standard green bed throws we saw in other rooms we nosed into during the maid visits in the mornings.
The only slightly random part of our room was the shower room which didn’t have a proper shower base, just a nozzle on the wall, a non-slip mat over the drain and a shower curtain. Not fancy by any means, but nicer than...

Etap Amsterdam Airport
Review of Etap Amsterdam Airport, Amsterdam by
virgo219
Advantages: Clean, comfortable, cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: No safe in room, No drawers
..., but on arrival you are allocated a six figure PIN number to unlock the door of your room, this was to be an advantage for me during my 5 night stay there. In the room is a large double bed and a bunk bed, which is not suitable for children under the age of 6 years old. There is a fairly adequate shower unit and separate toilet. There is some hanging space for clothes, but no 'knicker drawer'. There is a television in the room
It currently shows
Netherlands 1, 2, 3
RTL 4 & 5
SBS
Yorin
ARD (Germany)
ZDF (Germany)
WDR (Germany)
BBC World, Like the World Service with pictures
CNN (Rolling News)
Eurosport
Rai Uno (Italy)
Portuguese TV
A French Channel
Canal Plus Red & Blue
MTV (Music)
Room and Hotel Information (Mainly related to the Ibis Hotel but relayed to the Etap too)
Flight Departure Board for Schiphol Airport relayed via...
