No zebras were harmed in the making of this toy
Review of Playgro Noah's Zebra Loop Rattle by  ricci

Advantages: sweet rattle
Disadvantages: none

...Zebras, I've noticed play a fairly big part in little boys clothing. Before Scarlett was born we didn't know her gender so we brought some gender neutral clothes and some reduced blue sleep suits and vests, which featured zebras in various designs. Little girls are bunnies whilst little boys are zebras. Whilst looking round for Christmas presents for our little one we found this cute little zebra rattle. The zebra has blue and light blue stripes, small children must get a strange idea about animals! It has a smiley face and a playgro logo on the middle of it. It has a velvety, soft texture to it. Attached to the main body of the zebra is a clear plastic ring, with half of the ring showing and the other half in the zebra body. In the ring are six fairly large balls of the following colours, green, purple. Red, blue, orange and yellow... Read review

My Sony TRV110
Review of Sony Handycam DCR TRV110E by  bevboys

Advantages: not too heavy, good first-user DV camera.
Disadvantages: LCD Screen usage can eat battery if used unecessarily

...My main reason for buying the Sony DCR-TRV110 was the price drop as new DCR products came on the market. This price drop allowed me to access digital video and the wonders that come with it. As a teacher of information technology one thing had eluded me and that was using computers for video capture, and in particular digital video capture. The use of the Sony DCR-TRV110 can range from simple record and playback to attaching it to a computer video capture card such as Pinnacle Studio DV and perfoming amazing feats of video editing. Even without attaching the Sony DCR-TRV110 to a computer it boasts some pretty amazing features such as Titling, different type of shoot mode including 'old film' and Sepia toning. There is a great range of transitional effects for blending shots. One of the other good features is the Sony... Read review

Thoughts on Canon Pixma MP110
Review of Canon PIXMA MP110 by  itfcforever

Advantages: Cheap ink cartridges, good quality printing and photographs
Disadvantages: Ugly appearance, user guides for software on CD not in paper format

...for a special photographic print head as had been used with some other Canon printers. All in all, if you do not mind the rather ugly appearance of the Canon Pixma MP110, for the price it is an excellent all-in-one printer for the home or small office. It uses some of the cheapest ink cartridges around and prints good quality documents and photographs. The scanning and copier functions are quick and simple to use. The Canon MP110 is a very practical, cost effective and functional all-in-one, albeit a bit of an ugly duckling.... Read review

Hoover Performa AC110 Updated 20/04/2005
Review of Hoover Performa AC110 by  Suziwann

Advantages: Cheap, matches most wedding gowns
Disadvantages: A bit slow!

...I have owned this Hoover Performa AC110 for over seven years. I bought it at a trade centre and paid £199 + VAT (17.5%) I was a bit wary of purchasing such a cheap machine, but in the seven years that I have had it, it has proved it's worth time and time again. It doesn't have an exceptionally large drum, but I can squeeze in a double quilt to wash and that is big enough for me. It is a hot fill machine apart from the pre-wash which is cold fill. The spin speed is 1100, which is efficient enough. Apparently another 100 on the spin speed would only spin out a further egg cup full of water anyway. It also has a 'half spin' option. The Hoover Performa AC110 has fourteen wash programmes, includes a delicates wash and a wool wash. The hottest wash is 90 degrees and the coolest is the cold pre-wash. I was disappointed... Rangemaster toledo 110 cooker
Review of Rangemaster Toledo 110 by  max1966

Advantages: Looks really smart and efficient
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind

...We bought a rangemaster toledo 110 cooker for our new kitchen earlier this year. We decided on the colour of silver rather than stainless steal as this is easier to clean and wipe. The double oven is brilliant and practical. One is fan assisted so is really fast the other is just conventional. They are both large and can easily cook Christmas dinner for a family of 14. Both have large windows on the doors which is brilliant for checking on foods. Built in oven lights too. It also has a separate built in grill. If you need to grill something small you just switch on half the grill - how cool is that? The built in hob on top is lovely. We have electric so naturally have a ceramic hob. This too is easy to clean. There are 6 halogen rings. Two of which you can half on or full on. Beware of scratches though on the g;ass hob. All in all... Read review

The Toshiba Equium A110-233: Jack of All Trades
Review of Toshiba Equium A110-233 - Core Solo T1350 1.86 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  salar15

Advantages: Is more than adequate across the board; very easy to use
Disadvantages: As a result, it is unexceptional in most of its attributes

...The Toshiba Equium A110-233 is a very competent all-purpose computer, coming at a very reasonable price (I purchased mine online at Dixons for round about £460). The actual model itself looks stylish enough, though it lacks any particularly imaginative design flair. Suffice to say, however, that it isn't an ugly, clunky beast like some laptops to be found on the market. The screen is perfectly serviceable, with adequate resolution to handle the viewing of multimedia, and doesn't fall into the recent trend of laptops of being irritatingly minute. The processing capability of the hardware is certainly fit for purpose too - unless you plan on using memory-intensive games or image-editing software, it should satisfy your needs; certainly if you intend mostly to utilise Microsoft Office, the internet, and other software... Good Husband, But Is He A Good Detective?
Review of The Good Husband of Zebra Drive (No 1 Ladies Detective Agency 8) (No 1 Ladies Detective Agency 8) - Alexander McCall Smith by  DoubleFantasy11

Advantages: funny, heartwarming, fantastic characters
Disadvantages: a little "scrappy" in places

...I'm already a fan of the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, so it's no surprise that I like the 8th addition to the family - The Good Husband of Zebra Drive. As usual, there are superb characters with a decent narrative holding them together and a lot of humour; pretty much what I've come to expect from Alexander McCall Smith. In fact, the only criticism I have is that the narrative isn't quite as good as some of the other books in the series and it's a bit "scrappy" in places, not flowing quite as well as it should. This isn't my favourite novel in the series, but it's certainly an entertaining and worthwhile read. Alexander McCall Smith also writes the 44 Scotland Street series (incidentally, my favourite of his works) and a series featuring philosopher Isabel Dalhousie, among others. He is a Scottish author and those two series... Read review

Zebra Crossings - A Users Guide. (A true story)
Review of Everything that starts with Z ... by  Adereterial

Advantages: Plenty - like not getting run over
Disadvantages: They're useless if you don't bother to use them!

...I thought long and hard before writing this. I can't claim to have all the facts and I can't claim to have any experience in caring for children, but I think I am right on this one, and I am going say why. This Saturday my boyfriend (Phil) and I went to a large supermarket just outside of town to do an emergency shop... you know the kind. Putting aside my reservations about supermarket shopping on a Saturday (me versus the great unwashed and their uncontrollable children is not an experience I relish), we drove through the carpark looking for a suitable spot. This supermarket has a very large car park in which the path from your car to the front entrance is marked clearly by zebra crossings, one in the middle of each 'lane.' To get from your car it is necessary to walk (with due care and attention, of course), along this path... Read review

The Cold War on Ice
Review of Ice Station Zebra DVD by  reckley

Advantages: Enjoyable action, good cast, some amusing lines.
Disadvantages: Never really surprises, some poor sets and effects.

...Commander James Ferraday (Rock Hudson, PILLOW TALK, TOBRUK) of the US nuclear submarine Tigerfish is ordered to take his boat to the North Pole to mount a rescue of the scientist of Ice Station Zebra. The rescue mission is, however, merely an excuse to go as Ferraday and his crew are joined by the mysterious David Jones (Patrick McGoohan, SILVER STREAK, SCANNERS), Russian Borris Vaslov (Ernest Borgnine, THE BLACK HOLE, GATTACA) and Captain Leslie Anders (Jim Brown, THE DIRTY DOZEN, 100 RIFLES) with his team of marines. It soon becomes apparent that the real reason to get to the Pole is to recover film of defence information vital to both the Russians and Americans from a crashed satellite. The race is on to get there before the Russians but a saboteur is determined to stop them. Directed by John Sturges (THE GREAT ESCAPE... Read review
