No zebras were harmed in the making of this toy
Review of Playgro Noah's Zebra Loop Rattle by  ricci

Advantages: sweet rattle
Disadvantages: none

...Zebras, I've noticed play a fairly big part in little boys clothing. Before Scarlett was born we didn't know her gender so we brought some gender neutral clothes and some reduced blue sleep suits and vests, which featured zebras in various designs. Little girls are bunnies whilst little boys are zebras. Whilst looking round for Christmas presents for our little one we found this cute little zebra rattle. The zebra has blue and light blue stripes, small children must get a strange idea about animals! It has a smiley face and a playgro logo on the middle of it. It has a velvety, soft texture to it. Attached to the main body of the zebra is a clear plastic ring, with half of the ring showing and the other half in the zebra body. In the ring are six fairly large balls of the following colours, green, purple. Red, blue, orange and yellow... Read review

The DELL XPS M170 Gaming Laptop
Review of Dell Laptop Inspiron XPS M170 by  Kel1981

Advantages: NVIDIA 7800 GTX GPU, brilliant screen, exellent sound for a laptop, looks the part
Disadvantages: Pricey

...You may have seen my review for the TOSHIBA Satellite Pro L10 only a few months back. It was a nice little laptop for £500, but it did not have the kind of power I craved for the latest gaming and multimedia applications. This is what I replaced it with..........the DELL XPS M170 Gaming Laptop. System Specs: Dell XPS-M170 Intel® Pentium® M Processor 760 (2 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition 17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™ 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm (upgraded from 1GB) 60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps) 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7800 GTX. Olympus FE-170
Review of Olympus FE-170 by  coopsta133

Advantages: High picture qaulity. lots of features
Disadvantages: Small internal storage

...The Olympus FE-170 to begin is a very good camera. REVIEW = The cam, as you can see is jam packed full of special features. Some you may find useful and some are just like-- what will I need this for. Luckily the camera comes with a handy booklet explaining in detail all of them :) Upon opening I was overjoyed with the overall appearance and weight and design of the product. The buttons fit lovely in your hands and are easy to use. Nothing is stiff and nothing is too loose. The buttons are perfect in my opinion. To take pictures just press the button. That is about the only feature I ever use. The macro shots work well though. They can take fairly close up good quality pictures of thing. Very useful for shooting individual items to put up pictures on the net for example. The picture quality... Read review

Portable, portable, portable
Review of Minolta DiMAGE Xi by  guano

Advantages: VERY small, light, takes good pictures
Disadvantages: Limited flash, only a 16MB SD card included

...If you're looking for a small, good-looking and high-performing digicam, you can't go wrong with the Xi. It's so small that you can fit it into a shirt pocket and so light that you won't know it's there. With the Xi, there is no excuse for not having a camera to hand. The Xi succeeds the earlier 2-megapixel Dimage X, which was a triumph of engineering with its non-protruding zoom lens. I won't bore you with the details of how this works, but if you're interested, visit Minolta's website and you can read up on this particular feat of engineering (www.minolta.co.uk). The benefit of this non-protruding zoom lens is, of course, that the camera body is a LOT slimmer than others on the market. I got my Xi on the Internet for a little under £300. Minolta are set to introduce a new version of the Xi, the Minolta Xt, which is also a 3... Read review

The Terracotta Warriors
Review of General: Xi´an by  gard

Advantages: The terra-cotta warriors, the city wall around Xi'an itself
Disadvantages: Cabs like to use fixed price, people don't speak English

...A short summary This is a travelogue about the trip that my wife, Nikki, and I took to China (Beijing, Xi’an and Hong Kong) in the period from March 15th to March 29th 2003. We first spent 7 days in Beijing and we got to see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and so on. From Beijing we took an overnight train to Xi’an and our main goal there was to see the Terra-Cotta Warriors but we also got to see a few other things. And from Xi’an we flew to the city of Shenzhen and from there we took the boat to Hong Kong (HK), where we stayed for about 5 days. In HK we visited Ocean Park, Victoria Peak, the Space Museum and so on. We first stayed in Beijing for a few days (see seperate review). But time went fast in Beijing and all of a sudden we had reached Saturday March 22nd. We had decided to take... Read review

Good Husband, But Is He A Good Detective?
Review of The Good Husband of Zebra Drive (No 1 Ladies Detective Agency 8) (No 1 Ladies Detective Agency 8) - Alexander McCall Smith by  DoubleFantasy11

Advantages: funny, heartwarming, fantastic characters
Disadvantages: a little "scrappy" in places

...I'm already a fan of the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, so it's no surprise that I like the 8th addition to the family - The Good Husband of Zebra Drive. As usual, there are superb characters with a decent narrative holding them together and a lot of humour; pretty much what I've come to expect from Alexander McCall Smith. In fact, the only criticism I have is that the narrative isn't quite as good as some of the other books in the series and it's a bit "scrappy" in places, not flowing quite as well as it should. This isn't my favourite novel in the series, but it's certainly an entertaining and worthwhile read. Alexander McCall Smith also writes the 44 Scotland Street series (incidentally, my favourite of his works) and a series featuring philosopher Isabel Dalhousie, among others. He is a Scottish author and those two series... Read review

British XI
Review of Everything that starts with B ... by  Taylor1911

Advantages: Everyone British
Disadvantages: Only one Quality Striker.

...After writing my opinion on the Current Premiership XI, BigBaz suggested a British XI, so here it is. Now you have to bear that most of the british players actually play in the premiership so it could end up being very similar, although i can now utilise the Scottish leagues as well. GOALKEEPER Paul Robinson-Leeds United Robinson is my coice for the England number one shirt. He is by far and away the most impresive English goalkeeper i have seen since Peter Shilton. The only thing that is holding him back in the pecking order is the fact that the Leeds team are playing so badly at the moment. When you think that ahead of him in the race to be number one are: David Seamen, who is not what he used to be, David James, who although he is playing well at the moment is still not as good as Robinson is, and Richard Wright who i feel... GONG XI FAT CHOY
Review of Everything that starts with G ... by  djohan

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...we visit our parents to say, “Gong Xi Fat Choy”. It is not a magic spell. Freely translated, it means, “We wish you a nice happy new year and have a big luck.” Chinese people tend to be materialsm, don’t they? It is true! Chinese people always wish luck. That is why, there are many Chinese people are found all over the world as formerly our anchestors loved to travel and do business! Hong Pau (Red Pockets) filled in with some money are given to youngers by the elders who have got married. A son or daughter who have earned money can give the Hong Pau to their parents while wishing their parents to have good luck and good health. Children must love the Hong Pau to be their extra-money. It reminds me much of my childhood. Some Taboos Though I am a Budhist, but I am still a Chinese, I still remember my anchestors advice... Read review
