...The nectar card is the loyalty card associated with Sainsbury's, however it has since branched out and is affiliated with many companies which allows for maximum point collecting! Let's start with the basics, you get 2 points per pound spent at Sainsburys or 1 point per litre of petrol bought at the Sainsbury's petrol garage. Each point accumulated is worth half a penny, so you need 2 points to equal 1 pence. If you redeem your points in store at Sainbury's then you will need minimum 500 points for £2.50 off o your shopping. Points need to be redeemed in increments of 500. Points can also be collected in other stores, for example Dolland and Aitchinson also give 2 points per pound, as do Homebase. As far as I am aware however, you cannot redeem your points against your total bills in these stores. Points can also be collected...

Review of Nectar Card

Ice Station Zebra -- unable to put it down

Advantages: A really entertaining read
Disadvantages: none

...First and foremost forget the film, it is unable to capture the humour and intensity fully. This is one of my favourite books, containing just the right mix of intrigue and humour, whilst running along at a great pace . We start off meeting the major characters very quickly, and a battle of wits starts immediately, between commander Swanson and crew of a US nuclear submarine and Dr Carpenter, sent from London to join the Sub on a special mission to trace a missing ice station named Zebra. (needless to say this may not be the whole truth) ! Now the story begins with lies, subterfuge, lies, sabbotage, lies, murder, lies,one of my favourite lines comes from this book and if you read it, its the one about I almost believed it myself. The story twists and turns with some great descriptives along the way to really bring you into the story...

Review of Ice Station Zebra - Alistair MacLean

Fisher price bounce and spin zebra..... A bouncing spinning Zebra

Advantages: Keeps the little ones happy
Disadvantages: Annoying music, noisy..... but thats just us ;o) the kids will love it

...My little one had this for christmas last year and it's still going strong today so yes it is pretty durable and tough! It's a super cute bouncy spinning zebra, which plays (annoying ahhem*) music!! It came in a rather large, heavy box as I remember, but putting it together was a doddle (even for me!!!) The green base snaps together with each triange then forming a hexagon, it fits around the base of the zebra (I had to put his handles on too) and then thats pretty much it (there may have been some screws I can't remember). My little one has had hours of fun on it (so have the older two) but it seemed a lot smaller than I expected?? At £45 it wasn't cheap but it was one of his big presents so I didn't mind. I bought mine out of the christmas toy catalouge, but they are sold in argos and toysrus for roughly the same price. It...

Working for the well known card shop

Advantages: nice staff, not complicated work
Disadvantages: not the best paid job!

...I used to work at Clinton cards years ago when I was younger - in fact it was my first job! The shop may have changed slightly since then on how it's run but judging by the other reviews, it hasn't changed much! I was employed by Clinton cards for just under 3 years and during this time I did do quite a bit of training. I'll start from the beginning and cover as much as I can! Applying and the interview: I saw the ad placed in the window that they needed staff for the busy Christmas period on a temporary basis - this was just what I was looking for as at the time I was just going into college and needed a weekend job. Quality cards at bargain prices

Advantages: Excellent value for money, great promotions
Disadvantages: Shops always busy, some relatives hard to find

...I'm slightly unaccustomed to writing reviews on shops in general, but I was thinking of something to write and this popped into my mind. I first discovered Card Factory a few years ago, after walking past it umpteen times and dismissing it as yet another card/birthday shop on the high street. One particular day I was struggling to find a good sentimental card for Mum's birthday that wasn't going to break the bank, so I thought I'd give it a try. Since that day, Card Factory has been my number one stop for all my greetings card needs. The shops are not terribly big, and usually crowded so getting around with a buggy is always difficult. Good thing I've got my Hippychick Hipseat! (See earlier review.) However it is worth the struggle as their prices are prettymuch unbeatable. As the name suggests, Card Factory mostly sells cards...

Vanquis Bank and Credit Card

Advantages: Gives credit to those who wouldn't otherwise get it.
Disadvantages: Very high interest, terrible customer service.

...A couple of months ago we made the mistake of getting a credit card "for emergencies", it was meant to be...but as always happens, it was used when it wasn't necessary (mainly by my husband!!!!). Vanquis Bank are a company who offers credit to people with a bad credit history (i.e. CCJs, missed payments etc and just no credit history). Anybody who has ever tried to get credit for the first time will know its sometimes very difficult, if you have never had any kind of credit given to you, companies won't take you on, as they don't know if your a risk or not...and so Vanquis offer a "credit score boosting card"...basically they give a credit card with £300 limit on it to people who have never before had a credit card and probably don't know how to use them correctly. (Before you start...I'm not calling everyone with no credit history...

Card making!

Advantages: fun, more personal than shop bought cards

...Since I got Freeview I love watching the shopping channels (I don't know how sad that makes me!), and that's what first made me decide to get into card making. I was watching Ideal World one day when they had a craft hour on, and they were making the most beautiful cards. The only thing that put me off starting straight away was the price of some of the equipment needed - handmade papers, embossing kits etc. can be fairly expensive. It was a good six months later before I actually got around to making my first cards. I bought a card making kit from Ebay for about £4.50 including the postage, which included cards, envelopes, handmade paper, stickers and die-cuts among other things. No zebras were harmed in the making of this toy

...Zebras, I've noticed play a fairly big part in little boys clothing. Before Scarlett was born we didn't know her gender so we brought some gender neutral clothes and some reduced blue sleep suits and vests, which featured zebras in various designs. Little girls are bunnies whilst little boys are zebras. Whilst looking round for Christmas presents for our little one we found this cute little zebra rattle. The zebra has blue and light blue stripes, small children must get a strange idea about animals! It has a smiley face and a playgro logo on the middle of it. It has a velvety, soft texture to it. Attached to the main body of the zebra is a clear plastic ring, with half of the ring showing and the other half in the zebra body. In the ring are six fairly large balls of the following colours, green,purple. Red, blue, orange and yellow...
