...I watched this film one Sunday afternoon and I could not believe that I had not seen it before this was a great children's film and was very entertaining. Just when you think your eyes are deceiving you yes it really is, it's a Zebra and he is really cute. This film like all animal films has animals that can talk. The film begins when a travelling circus accidently leaves a zebra in Kentucky on a miserable stormy night. The zebra is later found by Nolan Walsh played by Bruce Greenwood, a horse trainer who's given up his job after a riding accident killed his wife, his daughter Channing played by Hayden Panettiere who wants to be a jockey like her mum when she grows up, although her dad has other ideas for her, she decides to name the zebra Stripes who is voiced by Frankie Muniz. Advantages: Feelgood family fun

...Stripes is a young zebra accidentally left behind by a circus during a storm. He is adopted by kindly farmer Nolan Walsh and his daughter Channing and makes his home with the other farmyard animals. But what Stripes really wants is to be racehorse and with the help of his human and animal friends he strives to make his wish come true at the Kentucky Open. Belgian director Frederik Du Chau formerly made his living as an animator for Disney. Obviously their child-friendly ethics have rubbed off on him; choosing to direct this sentimental family film that takes Hans Christian Andersen?s ?Ugly Duckling? as inspiration. He eschews animation in favour of live action shenanigans with humanising voice-overs. ...The Boy In Striped Pyjamas (2008) I first saw a trailer for this film in the cinema and wanted to watch it, but missed it and had to wait until it came out on dvd. I ordered it to rent from Lovefilm, but because of the nature of the film, somehow kept putting off watching it. Anyway, I sat down (prepared to cry) to watch it last night. What's it all about? The film is about the Holocaust and centres around the experience the war through the eyes of a German child, Bruno, living with his family. His father is a German Officer, who is directly involved in running a prison camp for Jews. He also lives with his mother and sister. ...This is one of the best books that I have read in quite a while. I first seen it in Asda but as it was still in hardback and the sleeve didn't give much away I didn't buy it. Then just a few days later it appeared in my mam's copy of The Book People magazine. As it was cheaper than Asda (by a couple of pound) and the magazine hinted slightly towards what the story was about I decided to give it a go and so I bought it. And I'm so glad I did? "The story of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is very difficult to describe. Usually we give some clues about the book on the jacket but in this case we think that would spoil the book. ...Maoam stripes to be honest I think I have been living under a rock when it comes to this product! I only had one for the first time the other day when someone brought them to work, now I can see why they are Haribo's top selling product ! They are really juicy chewy mini bars that are handy for snacking out and about. There are a few different flavours you can tell what they are by the fruit characters on the front. My particular favourite is the lemon and apple one yum yum! The characters on front are actually really amusing and provided myself and my work colleagues with a few giggles the other day! Before Scarlett was born we didn't know her gender so we brought some gender neutral clothes and some reduced blue sleep suits and vests, which featured zebras in various designs. ...My little one had this for christmas last year and it's still going strong today so yes it is pretty durable and tough! It's a super cute bouncy spinning zebra, which plays (annoying ahhem*) music!! It came in a rather large, heavy box as I remember, but putting it together was a doddle (even for me!!!) The green base snaps together with each triange then forming a hexagon, it fits around the base of the zebra (I had to put his handles on too) and then thats pretty much it (there may have been some screws I can't remember). My little one has had hours of fun on it (so have the older two) but it seemed a lot smaller than I expected?? At £45 it wasn't cheap but it was one of his big presents so I didn't mind.
