Advantages: 30gb for less than a 15gb ipod, comes with leather case

...For a long time in the later months of 2003 I had accumulated a vast amount of mp3s on my computer and felt that burning to cds to take to school or go out was too much of a hassle because over time I wouldn't listen to that particular CD. So the answer was to finally get an mp3 player to avoid the hassle of buying and wasting cds. For a few weeks I looked at various different players that ranged from small, light, minimal storage, to bulky with mass storage capabilities. The players i had considered at the time were the infamous iPod 10gb which is now 15gb, the creative jukebox zen nx 30gb, and the creative muvo 4gb. The problem was the iPod was 10gb for £249.99 which is a bit much to ask for since a 10gb hard drive is only £10 but looked great and i wouldn't feel ashamed having it out alot. THE ONE AND ONLY MP3 JUKEBOX!

Advantages: Lots of storage space, good accessories, stylish player

An Almighty Jukebox

Advantages: Large hard drive, great sound quality, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Big and heavy.

...The Creative jukebox Zen Xtra is a portable Mp3 player that can hold up to approximately 16,000 songs. Of course, this all depends upon the size that you purchase. This particular Mp3 player starts from 30GB, then up to 40GB, and finally 60GB. However, before you jump in too quickly, don't be fooled that although the 30GB is half the size of their largest mp3 player, that the 30GB is going to be too small. I bought the 40GB, and never in a million years do I expect to fill it. Think about the size if your hard drive on your computer, and how full it is, and inparticular, how much space you have used with songs. In my experience, with my 40GB computer, it's nowhere near half full, and I have many songs, and many other documents and games. Creative Jukebox Zen NX - Okay Player

Advantages: 30GB Space, Price, Battery
Disadvantages: Looks, Weight, Size, Bad Software

...constantly take it out as there is no remote. *Earphones, the usual story, buy an expensive item and they give you cheap earphones. *The software is the main problem I had. First of all it seems it is more geered up for playing songs rather than transfering them to the device. It is quite confusing to use and would only transfer about half of my MP3s and came up with errors for the rest. *The software does not allow you to rip CDs straight to the Zen but you have to rip them to your pc, then transfer them, then delete them off your PC. Takes a while. *I had problems connecting the device via USB to my computer. I use a hub (a set of 4 extra USB ports for my PC) but it does not work with it for some reason so I had to use a port on the main PC unit. Conclusion A good buy if you get to grips with the software and get it to work...

Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra 60 GB

Advantages: Massive storage, easy to use and solid build quality
Disadvantages: Headphone jack on early versions can be broken easily

...I've had my Zen Xtra for about 3 years now, and so far had no major problems with it. I managed to snap the headphone jack off, which is a common problem with the earlier models but this only cost me around £10 to fix at a local phone shop. The menus and controls are extremely easy to use, and personally I much prefer the roll wheel to the I-pods touch pad. The build quality is excellent, and feels extremely solid (I've managed to drop mine quite a few times and it still works 100% - not that I recommend throwing it on the floor to test this!). The sound quality as with the rest of the Zen is outstanding. It's extremely clear on the treble, and punchy on the bass. It's also easy to tailor the sounds to your personally preference with the onboard equaliser, or simple use one of the preset options (rock/pop etc.) Storage is...

...Recently i've just bought a Creative Zen and i'm very happy with it. After working with and looking at other reviews of similar devices iPod/iRiver etc I opted to go for the Zen. With Creative being "the daddies" in sound related features on PC's I thought that I couldn't go wrong. After ordering my Zen from Amazon I got a lovely package a few days later (It was in a huge box compared to the size of the Zen itself but i'm not complaining.) In it, contained the Zen, Earphones, Power Adapter, USB Cable, Instructions, CD-Rom. Having got it all set up I connected it to my pc. The software that came with it, wasn't too good to be honest, I opted to purchase some software called notmad explorer which I highly recommend. ...i bought this product in may 2008 for about £80 very reasonable for a new 8gb player considering the ipod of that size and generation cost £120-150. I choose it because i had a muvo and loved the quality but out grew it and after battleing with numerous unbranded models i was sick and tired of rubbish. I am a stong hater of popular branded stuff such as the ipod as people i know have had ipods stolen and broken after a year or so (just after the garentee runs out i think) so i didn't look at the ipods and as me and my brother had both had amazing creative mp3 players with no problems (his zen touch has been running for 4 years and still going strong) i decided to look for a new creative player the mozaic in my opinion was the same thing with an ugly casing and the x-fi was a bit expensive so at the size i needed the zen was ideal...

Simply Zen

Advantages: Credit Card sized, Good battery life, Excellent Sound

...too long on an up to date computer. Though you might want to stop it from installing some of the unnecessary software, unless your a big fan of pod-casts or spoken book audio sites. It's important to note that as it's a fairly up to date MP3 player so it will only run on Windows XP or Vista. The sound quality is excellent, as Creatives tend to be and has a slight edge over the ipod in that department, as well as volume levels (but only if you want to go deaf), though to get the most of it you'll be wanting to replace the headphones provided. Though sadly that will mean you won't be able to used to radio feature present on the player. A major limitation as it's one of the plus points that Zen's have over Ipods. Battery life is around 24 hrs at 128kbps, but expect that to be a lot less if you use high quality MP3s. Sadly there...
