Advantages: Excellent location, Very welcoming! Disadvantages: Bathrooms a little cramped but this is common place in Greek hotels
...We visited Kefalos for the first time in June, and have just booked to return. We stayed at the Zeus and will be doing so again in October.
ROOMS
The rooms are spotlessly clean with a large balcony or terrace (we had a terrace). On the website it does mention that some rooms are "semi-basement" we had one of these and it just meant that the wall of our terrace was only slightly higher than ground level. But it was a lovely sun trap in the afternoon. Bathrooms aren't huge, which is to be expected, but they are perfectly adequate. Beds very perfectly fine, not the luxury you would expect from a more pricey hotel but perfectly adequate. You can always ask for an exrtra pillow if one is not enough.
STAFF
All of the hotel staff were excellent Zak and his family will do evrything they can to ensure you have a great holiday...

Review of Zeus Hotel, Kos
Advantages: Good gameplay; entertained for hours Disadvantages: Not developed for Mac =(
...Insert the CD, load it, get your mouse prepared and off you are sucked off into the ancient times! The controlling is ever so easy, just as long as you've got a mouse you're pretty much set and ready to go.
I am a total sucker for strategy games, so when it came up to playing Master of Olympus, I was so thrilled and excited about this game I don't think my friends saw me for awhile.
As the game title gives you pretty much most of the hint, this strategy game is based in ancient greece, where the glorious Zeus once ruled. However, as much as this suggests, lots of historical backgrounds and legends are mentioned during those times, it doesn't affect your gameplay at all; it merely sets a scene for you to enjoy, whilst learning lots about greek mythology at the same time (my english teacher actually gave me a higher recommendation on my...
Advantages: organise a town, strategic game Disadvantages: can waste a lot of time playing, Single player only, cannot see battles
...I first bought this game called "Zeus: Master of Olympus" about a year and a half ago because i love strategy games and needed an update to theme park and theme hospital.
I bought this game as it looked different to games i had previously seen, with this game you can create your own greek myths.
When you begin a game there are different episodes within this game, and to get onto the next episode you have to fulfill the requests of Zeus, this requires skill to maintain, for instance, levels of wine in storage and the amount of Athletes competing in the city.
You start the game by building your own Greek city, building house for your workers, with this you have to build them sanitary and food facilities and also a place to work.
You have to judge how many houses to build in comparison to how many places of work there are going...
Advantages: Basic gameplay tweaked to perfection, other game elements expanded and improved, less bewildering for casual gamers, story based with more focussed objectives Disadvantages: Cutesy presentation, still essentially the same as previous games
...Impressions struck gold with the first game in their 'City Builder' series, Caesar III, an intricate and detailed game in which you constructed and managed a city from scratch in ancient Rome. Although hugely playable, it mainly appealed to hard-core strategy enthusiasts due to the amount of micro-management and dull manipulation of figures. The sequel, Pharaoh, streamlined the game somewhat and removed many of the irritations of the first, although it received something of a lukewarm reception, being hailed as 'Caesar in Egypt', since the gameplay was essentially the same as the first game. Now, we have a third, Zeus - Master of Olympus. Unsurprisingly, this one is set in ancient Greece. Surprisingly, it has changed considerably from its predecessor.
DECIET AND DECEPTION
If you have never played either Caesar or Pharaoh, when you...
Advantages: Clean,Friendly, great hotel bar! Disadvantages: Stupid banging Fire Doors!!!!
...man coming out and swearing at it,we were hearded onto our tourist buses and taken to our designated resorts.
The transfer to the Zeus is roughly fifteen minutes from the airport. So no long bus journey which was really nice.We then arrived at the hotel at 2:30am local time.
We were greeted by a happy smiling face, given our key,and we then proceeded to our room.So what then did we do next? Go to the bar of course!!!
THE ROOM
I reserved a twin room, which is those strange single beds. However we always shove them together,in case of any romantic encounters. These were in the centre of the room.Chris had a bedside table his side of his bed,as did I. Next to my bedside table, was actually a dressing table and stool,as well as a power point to plug anything in that you wish.
To the left of the dressing table was the balcony. We had...

Review of Zeus Hotel, Kos
Advantages: Adds more game play, fun Disadvantages: oldish, hard to find
...With the interest people have in ancient Greece and Rome, it is unsurprising that a game would be made to capture this fascination.
Impression Games has created city building games based on the Romans in Caesar, Pharaoh in ancient Egypt, Rise of Middle Kingdom based on China and Zeus: Master of Olympus.
It comes a time when playing the original game is not enough as levels have been completed and so the expansion pack adds new challenges to keep the gamer entertained.
What is a city building game anyway?
As with the rest of Impression Game?s city building computer games, it is played from the viewpoint of being the ruler of a city and to ensure the quality of life for the people through economic growth. It could be called a real time strategy game because it is based around years and months. It...
Advantages: Great if your young and want fun. Disadvantages: Not for the quiet holiday lover.
...of Lasithou. A completely flat green fertile plateau opened up a visual festival reinforced by the fact it was surrounded by mountains on all sides, with a road running around the outside transversing eighteen Cretan villages all seemingly untouched by tourism.
Our last location was the Dictaean cave, (4 euros entrance, 2 euros parking) the mythical birthplace of the God Zeus, my namesake. This is a 1km climb up a steep incline with a 65 metre drop to the cave centre. You can however hire a donkey to take you up but it will cost you 15 euros one way. This was a bit of a disappointment as caves go for the effort involved.
DAY FOUR
The Minoan palace of Knossos was our destination where European civilisation reputedly began. Missing a visit to Knossos (Crete?s most popular sight) could be likened to omitting a visit to the Vatican if you...

Review of Crete (Greece)
Advantages: none Disadvantages: full of drunk kids.
...Zeus can be found in Greyfriars Rd inbetween Dylans and the Casino. Outside are two large flames on the wall, or would be if they were ever switched on.
The queue outside if there is one is artificial. This can be extremely annoying as you will be waiting ages for the queue to start moving. Sometimes when I have gone past there you can pick out someone in it and then later on they havent moved very far. Dont they realise that money doesnt get spent on the pavement?
They did have an offer on before when the entrance fee was £10 and all the drinks were then included. The wait to get in was extremely long. When your outside your not drinking extra. What they did with this though was to put only one or two rows of the good stuff at the front then everything else was cheap and disgusting stuff that people had to drink in the end if they...

Review of Zeus, Cardiff
Advantages: Stunning Scenery, Donkey Rides, Magnificent Geology Disadvantages: Slippery Steps, Not good for those who dont like heights!!
...The Dikteon Cave, situated on the Lasithi Plateau, is thought to be the birthplace of the Greek god Zeus. The drive into the mountains from the North is a little hair-raising, but the view from the snow capped peaks is well worth traversing the numerous hairpin bends and steep climbs (although I am reliably informed that it is great fun to drive!!).
When you arrive on the plateau, you are greeted by the sight of huge olive groves accompanied by great windmills that dot the landscape before you. There are several villages within the area that contain small cafe-restaurants which are more than adequate for a quick lunch.
Arriving in the car park below the cave, you are immediately stuck by the steep climb you must enjoy (or endure!!) in order to actually see the attraction. There are two options available to get up to the top...

Review of Dikteon Cave, Crete
Advantages: It's another Ciao challenge! Disadvantages: But this one is 'orrible!
...This is my attempt at a horrendous challenge set by MilleniumZeus. If you?d like to have a go then drop a note in his guest book, but be warned ? some of these questions are awful!
Part 1. Q1. What is your major pastime?
Work, actually. It?s shocking isn?t it? I was reading the question thinking what I do in the evening or at weekends to pass time and the answer was work. I like going out drinking and the like, but it doesn?t really pass that much time! Good food is a past time as well, I suppose, though more time is spent trying to find it than actually consuming it.
Q2. What is your general self-concept/opinion of yourself?
Can you have a general opinion of yourself? Well, if you can, I would say that I?m basically a good chap. I?m motivated by fairly normal things ? money, fun etc ? and try to get through life...
