...I was rummaging through the closets of my brain this morning trying to think what my next review would be about and it struck me that even though I have New York in my username, because I love the city with a passion, I have yet to write a review about it. So here it is! I have wanted to go to New York for as long as I can possibly remember. I think it may stem from watching lots of American films when I was a youngster (such as Home Alone) that centred around New York, particularly at Christmas time when it showed the big Christmas tree at Times Square etc. I was lucky enough as a child to be taken on lots of family holidays, and while they were lovely holidays, New York, or America for that fact, was never on the cards as a destination as nobody else in my family wanted to go there. Advantages: shopping without an end, a lot of sights

...I thought to write about a tour that I took I started on the Central Park Zoo. This Zoo isn't really big but worth to see. There is something for everybody. For example, you can visit the Rain Forrest, Central Garden, Polar Circle and they have a children's zoo. The prices there are alright and the location is very good. Around the zoo, you can find rocks. You have to go for a picture on it. Behind of you there should be the huge buildings of New York City. When you love New York City, that is really amazing. When you saw enough from that, what difficult is because it is so great, you should go to the south exit on Fifth Avenue. This street you have to see, with all the noble stores. Accordingly are the prices there. Not long on this way you will pass the Trump Tower. This Donald Trump building is worth to see... Read review

...It took me 15 years to make it to New York City. Why? you ask. Well Len and I, being English, were concerned about being tourists and the safety issue. Well, we need not have worried. We were meeting family there. Prior to our flight, we phoned the hotel to see how much transportation to the hotel would be. They suggested a yellow cab, which would cost around $25-$30. Exchange rate $1.83 to the £. So we get outside of the airport and see the sign for yellow cabs. The gentleman there said to us, this is your cab. He gave us a yellow leaflet with Taxi information. Asked us which hotel, and pointed to the $22-$26 area. Well our cabbie didn't speak English, so we kind of felt like prisioners in the back of the taxi, with the glass panel in front of us. The ride took 45 minutes and with the $4 cost of the toll, came to $28... Read review

There is so much I could tell you of all of NYC. I will tell you about Manhattan, the place most people refer to as New York. New York was the first of the cities to have the world record sky scrapers. The first was the Woolworth Building. It was soon shadowed by the Chrystler Building. That building held the record for a very short time because soon after it was completed the Empire State Buildings construction began. The Empire State Building was the largest for years. ...artists. The Adirondack Mountains have many lakes, riverboat cruises down the lake, many play type places for the children. I guess you might call them amusement parks. Howe Caverns is a place where you can take a river boat ride underground and view all the stalagmites and stalagtights. (spelling may be off please forgive me) The basketball Hall of fame is located near there also. There are the Finger Lakes which is a group of 5 lakes shaped like fingers and this is wine growing country. Also the home of Corning Glass wares. Saratoga boasts hot mineral spas and lots of horse racing. The only actual part of New York City I have been to is the Bronx. Here you can take a carraige ride around Central Park, see many vendors selling on the streets, visit the world famous and mammoth zoo and the beautiful botanical gardens... Read review

...Our 10 day , 9 night stay was from the 30th of August until the 8th of September, arriving in the early hour of Saturday morning back in the UK. We flew from Manchester Airport Terminal 3 with British Airways economy class to New York JFK airport Terminal 7.The flight was just under seven and a half hours and included a hot inflight meal and also headphones to watch inflight movies of which were available. The total cost of which included insurance, flight taxes and fees , airport parking and the price for the super shuttle mini bus to take us from Jfk airport to the hotel and then the return journey back was at a cost of £2,824.27 of which was booked online through Expedia. They are written by members of the zoo, who live nearby and visit frequently having done so for many years. I thought it might be useful to get a view from someone visiting for the first time. I think one of the best things about zoos is the feeling of wonder, sometimes coupled with nostalgia, that you get when you visit. This is the impression I got, from reading the other reviews, of how the other reviewers felt when they went to their zoo. I know this feeling well as I was brought up in North London and regularly visited London Zoo all through my childhood. ...Just a half hour's stroll from the very centre of Melbourne, at the fringe of the so-called Royal Park, sits the Royal Melbourne Zoo. This is a wonderful setting for a Zoo, and the neighbouring Royal Park is truly beautiful, but beautiful in a very Australian sense. There are no rose gardens here, nor topiaries, and certainly no green and manicured lawns. Nor are there any picnic tables, or extravagant plants with botanical names displayed on discrete little plaques at their rooted feet. Instead, this park consists of a sequence of endless, sun-parched fields, framing the massive Southern sky above. Impossibly tall Eucalypts stand at the fringes, as slim and elegant as water birds, with their long, scented leaves draped like tendrils. One might almost be in the bush. This game is very interesting and amusing you have to create paths. Have to place different animals and create rest rooms and many many more. ...BLACKPOOL ZOO On one of the few warm sunny days this summer I recently returned to Blackpool Zoo and have re-written this review as a result. To get to Blackpool Zoo by car you leave the M55 motorway at junction three and follow the A583 road towards Blackpool Town Centre. The brown elephant signs then tell you where to turn right and go past Stanley Park and on to the zoo access road. Once at the zoo there is ample free car parking adjacent to the main entrance. From Blackpool Town Centre the open top zoo bus is a wonderful way to travel there. There are also a number of other buses that go to or near the zoo. Blackpool Zoo has developed over recent years since being sold off by the local authority. We previously visited with relatives from Australia.
