They are written by members of the zoo, who live nearby and visit frequently having done so for many years. I thought it might be useful to get a view from someone visiting for the first time. I think one of the best things about zoos is the feeling of wonder, sometimes coupled with nostalgia, that you get when you visit. This is the impression I got, from reading the other reviews, of how the other reviewers felt when they went to their zoo. I know this feeling well as I was brought up in North London and regularly visited London Zoo all through my childhood. Advantages: Spacious, Attractive, Wonderful Variety Of Animals
Disadvantages: Few & Far Between...

...Just a half hour's stroll from the very centre of Melbourne, at the fringe of the so-called Royal Park, sits the Royal Melbourne Zoo. This is a wonderful setting for a Zoo, and the neighbouring Royal Park is truly beautiful, but beautiful in a very Australian sense. There are no rose gardens here, nor topiaries, and certainly no green and manicured lawns. Nor are there any picnic tables, or extravagant plants with botanical names displayed on discrete little plaques at their rooted feet. Instead, this park consists of a sequence of endless, sun-parched fields, framing the massive Southern sky above. Impossibly tall Eucalypts stand at the fringes, as slim and elegant as water birds, with their long, scented leaves draped like tendrils. One might almost be in the bush. ...BLACKPOOL ZOO On one of the few warm sunny days this summer I recently returned to Blackpool Zoo and have re-written this review as a result. To get to Blackpool Zoo by car you leave the M55 motorway at junction three and follow the A583 road towards Blackpool Town Centre. The brown elephant signs then tell you where to turn right and go past Stanley Park and on to the zoo access road. Once at the zoo there is ample free car parking adjacent to the main entrance. From Blackpool Town Centre the open top zoo bus is a wonderful way to travel there. There are also a number of other buses that go to or near the zoo. Blackpool Zoo has developed over recent years since being sold off by the local authority. We previously visited with relatives from Australia. During our week off we visited loads of places including Marwell Zoo which I have chosen to be the subject of this opinion. Marwell Zoo is a large zoo which is located at Colden Common, near Winchester in Hampshire. The Zoo was founded in 1972 by John Knowles, a conservationist, and is owned by Marwell Preservation Trust. The park expands over 100 acres and is fully accessible to disabled visitors. Electric scooters can be hired at £2 for the day and manual wheelchairs are also available. The North of England Zoological Society is a registered charity that operates Chester Zoo and also receives Government funding. Our main reason for visiting was to go to Jersey Beer Festival in St. Helier, but we also used Jersey's most excellent bus service to tour the island. One of my favourite days out was to Jersey Zoo…let me tell you about it! ~~~WHERE IS JERSEY ZOO? The zoo can be found around 4 miles north of Jersey's capital (St. Helier) and is in the parish of Trinity. We went on the bus (which seemed the best choice as parking on Jersey is a little scarce), though there is a large car park dedicated to the zoo which is free. ...I think caio has got the wrong picture , when I next take my camera to my daughters I will take some photos of the duplo Lego zoo for caio . Let me tell you about Lego duplo zoo as it would make a super Christmas present. A lot of Adrian's zoo Duplo is Duplo saved from my 29 year old daughters set she had when about 3 or 4 years old. So from this you can tell it is very durable I think it will become a family heirloom.
