PS3 slim

Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation
Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

...nothing on the system excited me that I couldn't already get for my 360! The exceptions to this rule being Killzone 2 & Resistance. In fairness, the PS3 hasn't been out as long as the 360, so I'm guessing the situation will improve as time progresses. Extras-Some nice ideas here from Sony, Vidzone isn't bad, altho the selection is a bit limited, movie trailers can be downloaded in 1080P(the 360 just gives a streamed SD trailer) but not full audio. Built in i-player is nifty altho not much use to me, as I'm on cable which gives me it in normal tv quality, but I guess it'll work for sky/freeview people out there. Yeah, they threw in a browser, but don't waste your time, fire up your PC & get what you are doing a lot faster, they have made a decent effort to work it, but for me, it needs a zoom(my apologies if there is one & I've missed it) as I...

Playstation 3 Great Product

Advantages: Useful, Multimedia Functions, Entertaining, Internet
Disadvantages: Does have the odd problems mostly HDMI issues.

Advantages: Low cost airline with Premium seating available.
Disadvantages: Only fly from a few airports in UK

The seat pitch was 36ins. instead of 32ins, may be not a lot of difference but it was very roomy, inside passengers can squeeze past, useful if the other person is asleep. Both have a hot meal and a snack served, but Premium also has complimentary alcoholic drinks, and Economy has to pay - £3.00 each drink, plus we were given a bottle of water at the start of the flight. Increased baggage allowance from 20Kg to 30kg, an important factor for us as we were to be away for over 2 weeks and needed evening wear for the cruise. The focus ring is located behind the zoom ring and can be used to manually tweak the focus in autofocus mode. The ring is a tiny bit loose, but moves smoothly and precisely. It does not rotate during autofocus. There is a distance scale marked both in feet and meters, but no depth of field scale. The images produced by the lens are of good quality, although there is noticeable vignetting (darkening of the corners) when zoomed to 200mm and using wide apertures. The lens has a variable aperture, the maximum aperture is F3.5 at 18mm and F5.6 at 200mm. Advantages: An amazing machine, expandable, some great features
Disadvantages: Expensive (but for a reason), almost internet reliant, no browser security

...can zoom in and out to make the text bigger, but even on a large HD TV (my model is a 32") if you're low down in the vision department, then sitting any more than a few feet from the TV is going to make the text unreadable unless you zoom in. ***PARENTS PLEASE READ THIS*** This is the third and most important issue with the PS3 browser and PARENTS TAKE NOTE! The PS3 does not come with any parental control features whatsoever in regards to the browser. If little Johnny decides to go and do a search for porn then he can. If he decides to go to a website that contains graphic images of people killing one another then he can. You basically get the idea. There is no way of setting banned sites whatsoever from within the browser. Trust have decided to get in on the act and make a parental filter thing in the style of a net-nanny type...

Advantages: Cheap Blu-Ray player, great graphics, free wifi, internet browser
Disadvantages: Expensive, some games are better on 360, 40 GB model doesn't have backwards compatability

...There are probably 3 categories of consumer: (1) Gamers with a HD TV who are also quite interested in the multimedia/blue ray angle. (2) Serious gamers either without a HD TV or who are not interested in high def for films etc.. (3) HD TV/ multimedia people who are not that interested in games. If you are in (1) or (3) categories then this is a bargain at the moment. One of the cheapest/best blue ray players with constant support. Now upscales dvds and supports divx etc.. Supports the very latest version of blu ray and is future proof. Sony can not afford to have this fail and the constant updates are great and frequent. Also of advantage (over other systems) are: Low failure rate, built in wifi (even on 40 gb model), no external plug, no external hd-dvd (blu ray built in), no annual online fees.
