Great pics and amazingly simple to use
Review of Canon PowerShot S50 by hv007

Advantages: Excellent quality pics
Disadvantages: No case, video clips not excellent

...I bought the Canon Powershot S50 having done extensive research on 5 megapixel cameras. It has been every bit worth the money i spent. Having taken 1000 photos on my holiday i can safely say it was a excellent purchase. Pros: 1. Quality of output is excellent especially at high resolution. 2. Zooming capacity is great especailly since it has both manual and optical zoom. 3. Panoramic pics and stitchting software allows the more advanced photographer to create stunning shots. 4. Great look overall, sturdy and solid. 5. Decent size LCD screen and playback of images 6. Options for slideshows and selective display of images 7. Easy to install software 8. Images can be zoomed and selective zooming is possible. 9. Output can be projected on TV's which is great for sharing photos. 10. Software great for organising images on your desktop... Read review

Got what you paid for
Review of Halina Zoom200 Compact Camera by robertliu84

Advantages: Zoom
Disadvantages: Limited zoom

...This is one cheap little camera with a zoom function. A standard 35mm camera. Put a film in it, then start taking pictures. It's not a bad camera for just over £50. With zoom capabilities of about 27 - 56, it's pretty good. Its got auto focus, auto light sensing so will flash when you want it is needed, and you can also switch the flash light on and off if you want. THere's also a infinity mode, so you can take pictures through windows, or of distant objects. Quite a good camera for what you paid for, but if you pay about another £25 you might get a better make and a better camera. Good for the odd pics, but not for the professional.... Read review

Why I choose it
Review of Pentax MZ 50 by lyzardking

Advantages: Very good esp for those on tight budget
Disadvantages: size - but nothing to complain about really

...When deciding to buy a new camera one of my prime deciding factors was my budget. After reading many reviews of the around £300 mark i decided to test a number of these apparantely powerful cheap SLRs. And to be honest was amazed by the vast majority of them. However the top trumph had to be the MZ 50. A powerful array of features with excellant ease of use. Excellant auto facility takes superb pictures. It's sexy sleak body holds well and has excellant balance. An easy camera to get used to. The in display functions are very helpful with those amatuer photographers as well as the professionals. It's auto zoom facility is my favourite feature able to zoom to maximum in a split second so excellant for capturing those racey moments. Also very reliable.!!! A dream to play with as well as work with.. THANK YOU PENTAX... Read review

The standard lens that isn't so standard
Review of Canon 50mm f1.8 MK2 AF by mikefrench

Advantages: tack sharp, good optical quality, fast focus
Disadvantages: plastic case and mount, not USM

...Often referred to as the standard lens the 50mm was so named as it used to be the lens that came with every SLR camera body. It is sometimes also called standard as it is the lens closest to the human eye and reproduces images similar to the one that we saw when taking a picture (this includes perspective and angles as well as composition). Most cameras now come with a zoom lens as "standard" usually around 28-90mm, and you might think that the 50mm lens is now not required at all. In my opinion this is not the case.... Some basic details: Weight: 130g (lightest Canon lens) Filter: 52mm Length: 41mm Focus: 0.45m (closest focus distance) Three main reasons why you should consider this lens: 1) Optical quality. This lens has very high optical quality. It has fewer elements in the lens and better glass. Your images will be noticeably... Read review

Zoom Zoom Zoom......
Review of ZoomPanel.com by Bollinger28

Advantages: Professionally laid out online surveys. Product testing.
Disadvantages: Some awful incentive gifts

...,000 ZoomPoints = Wine opener, $50 Globo Gift certificate or his and her watches. On the whole, the gifts are rather naff, but if you like the look of them, when you have the required number of points to claim your incentive you can order the gifts online and ZoomRewards will arrange delivery to you. Personally, I prefer good hard cash or gift vouchers for online survey work, and the Globo Gift vouchers are well worth having. Once you hit 2,000 ZoomPoints you can claim your $25 Globo Gift voucher. This can be redeemed in the currency/country of your choice and can be used in loads of different UK high street stores (Boots, Debenhams, Woolworths, Waitrose, WH Smiths to name but a few). It's really easy to claim; you are emailed a Globo Gift code by ZoomPanel and the vouchers are issued in the currency of your choice and posted to your home... Read review

Sleek sexy the new size is mini!
Review of Canon Digital IXUS I Zoom by kitty_l

Advantages: takes excellent pics light weight and very easy to use
Disadvantages: nothing

...Canon ixus I zoom. I adore this camera so much a big fan of my sister's canon ixus I the 4.0 mega pixel version which also took excellent pictures. I wanted a very tiny camera that is light weight and easy to carry around. This is great to put in your handbag, as it is tiny as a mobile phone. The I zoom is an upgrade of their ixus I, the 5.0 mega pixel camera that does not have zoom. This has 10 zoom, 2.5 optical and digital zoom altogether is 10x zoom. I brought this camera for under £200 on pixmania website; it comes with a docking station and a little remote control. If you connect the docking station to the TV you can view and use your remote to control the pictures displayed on your TV. This also came with a 16mb mmc card and a wrist strap. I had to buy my own leather case but that was easy to pick up from eBay. First impression... Read review

Mustek DV 3000
Review of Mustek DV 3000 by ianfriend

Advantages: Small compact and very light. good value for money
Disadvantages: No flash, not rechargeable, only 2x zoom

...Good quality pictures when used outside, even when zoomed in the pictures are still good enough even tho the quality setting automatically switches to low when using the zoom. However, when using inside in artificial light the colour seems to go orangey/red. The night mode facility helps but then any movement causes a blurred photo. AS for the video function, again same light problem as the pictures. Video quality is generally very good on high quality but if you are planning to shoot any great length of video on high quality you will need to invest in a fairly high capacity memory card (1GB = around £50) and you should be able to then video over an hours worth on high quality. On low quality the picture is a bit choppy but is not too bad if your filming something that doesnt require you to move the camera around a lot... Read review

Possibly the best lense for your camera????
Review of Nikon Lens by boooon

Advantages: Size, weight, fast max f stop, nikon quality
Disadvantages: non

...I have a 70mm to 300mm Sigma zoom and a 28mm to 80mm sigma zoom and this small standard 50mm lens. The lens costs about £90 new or around the £50 on E Bay. For everyday photography, I don't think it can be beaten. The two main advantages are its size and its maximum aperture of f1.8. For the peeps that don't know anything bout photography....the smaller the no. on the lens, the more light it can let in...hense f1.8 being better for available light photography indoors than the f5.5 on one of my zoom lenses. The small/lightweight standard lense on your camera will drastically reduse the risk of blurred pictures due to 'camera shake' because a zoom lense makes the camera more unstable and magnefies any camera shake..the bigger the zoom the worse it is. This smallness coupled with being able to use the high aperture to let most light... Read review

Probably the best firm ground boots ever
Review of Nike Air Zoom Mercurial F.G. by beanie8844

Advantages: Lightweight, Long-lasting, Comfortable
Disadvantages: Little protection from injury

...As a football coach who also plays competitvely twice a week my choice of football boots is extremely important. When playing on soft ground I use the new Adidas F50+ boots, but when the ground is hard there is no substitute for the Nike Air Zoom Mercurials. With a pricetag of over £100 they are expensive, but will prove tremendous value for money in the long term. I've had my pair for two years now, but you wouldn't know it apart from the studs being slightly worn down. The best feature of the boots is how little they weigh (approx 185g), giving you the feeling of being able to run faster and accelerate away or towards an opponent. The shape of the boots and the soft leather make a great contact surface with the football for accurate passing and shooting. They are also extremely comfortable to wear. The only negative thing you can... Read review

Zoom Zoom to Canada
Review of Zoom Airlines by VikiB

Advantages: Very Cheap, even to upgrade, great destinations
Disadvantages: Get in quick for the cheap flights, limited flights

...Just been on my first flights with Fly zoom, with prices from £89 to Calgary from Heathrow, a really easy option, vs BA £1200 last time, plus Zoom fly direct, so it was so much quicker 9.5 hours versus 16 with British Airways. We were the first flight of the year, so welcomed by a mounty and loads of bubbly and food. Other side was as the first flight of the season, the DVD and plasma screen had a few hitches, and the sound was pants, but the film was just Calendar Girls which I had seen before. We upgraded to Premium Economy, an extra £79, which gave a 36 inch pitch seat. Don't worry I wasn't sure what that meant, but I believe it is the distance between back of seat and the seat in front, and some airrlines, that is only 27 inches, so roomy. Also we could take on 32kg of luggage, it says 30 but they have a lee way of 2 kg, above... Read review
