The Mama of guitar multi effects!!!
Review of Zoom G9.2tt by
monsieur.Joda
Advantages: fun to use, really nice sounds
Disadvantages: so many things... can be confusing sometimes...
...)... At this price, I find it to be a pure bargain, as it plays in the leage of its more expensive competitors.
MY OPINION
******************
I love this unit. I purely love it. I play in a band, but as a bassist; I therefore doesn't get to use it on stage, but I purchased the bass version of the new Zoom effects, and I use it on stage. I always get a good sound, and I am waiting at the moment for Zoom to release the bass equivalent to the Zoom G9.
I would definitely use it on stage if I was to play guitar as the sounds are really good.
However, I believe that the Zoom G7.1U would have been sufficient for me, as I am not using the G9 to its full potential (far from it). The Z-pedal is a fun addition, but I didn't find a use to it just yet.
Me, who is crap at finding nice sounds for myself, I have actually managed to get really nice sounds...

Pedal to the Metal. Zoom GFX-707 guitar processor.
Review of Zoom GFX 707 by
FlameDruid
Advantages: Lots of sounds in one package.
Disadvantages: Not mighty valve produced analogue ones.
...The Zoom GFX-707 is a guitar effects pedal.
It has a large range of sounds made up of thirty factory preset ones and thirty user programmable ones.
There is a built in tuner, a built in drum machine, and a large integrated foot-pedal for those squawky wah-wah moments.
What does all this mean in real life?
Well, costs vary. I've seen it for £129.95 at musicianshop.com, £119.00 at regentguitars.co.uk, and a there's a multi-effects version called a GFX-707 II which is available at electrohill.co.uk for £119.95.
Years ago, that sort of money used to buy one Boss effects pedal with, say, distortion on it. Then if you wanted other pedals like reverb, delay, chorus and flange, these would have to be daisy-chained together with lots of little cables - a messy solution with lots of things to go wrong.
This one pedal can...

ZOOM 707-II Guitar
Review of Zoom GFX 707 by
stavroshamster
Advantages: Lots of sounds, smartmedia
Disadvantages: made entirely of plastic, complicated interface
...I recently purchased this for £99 including p&p as I have been wanting a new pedal for ages, and rather than getting one which could only do one thing I decided to get one which could do a lot.
A picture of the unit can be found at this site: http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/
---------------------------
So far I have been very happy with the unit which has a great range of features:
74 different effects including: distortion, modulation (e.g. chorus and flanger), reverb and delay effects, cabinet simulator, acoustic simulator.
60 built in 'patches' and the ability to program 60 of your own. These are combinations of the effects listed above.
Runs for 11 hours on one set of AA batteries, or can be run from the main with an adaptor (which is rather annoyingly not included as standard).
Using a 16MB SmartMedia card (sold...

An excellent effects box.
Review of Zoom GFX-707 by
Hmatt
Advantages: Great variety of effects, and easy to operate.
Disadvantages: There's now a Zoom 707 II!
...I bought my Zoom 707 on a whim, seeing it in a shop window, not too happy with what I had - and it was only 95 pounds. It is without doubt the best value piece of musical gear I have ever purchased. It continues to amaze me even after 2 and a half years of extensive use. Such a small box, it makes you wonder how on earth they fit it all inside! But Zoom have a rep for this kind of genius product.
Before mentioning the wide range of effects, I'd say that my favourite feature of this little plastic godsend is the "jam" feature. You can record a short phrase (up to about 4 seconds) and loop it with or without an effect. You can then thrash out crazed solos over the top of your little recording. Not only is this great practice, but it's a really useful tool for writing solos or simply chilling out - I have wiled away hours...

Great Sounds from the Zoom 505II
Review of Zoom 505 by
24Sarthe24
Advantages: Compact, cheap as chips, huge editability, great sound
Disadvantages: Not for the professional gigging guitarist
...Its always good to review something cheap, but even better when you're reviewing a gift! As it happens, I'm cheating because although this was a Christmas gift from my wife, I did actually buy it myself!
This is the revised Zoom 505II guitar effects pedal. The major difference from the original Zoom 505 is that it starts you off with 36 effects patches instead of the original's 24.
Its a very small pedal, just 14x12 centimetres, but it packs a great punch. My version is the sleek silver one, but the design is the same, which ever colour you buy. The essence of the device is that it allowes the guitarist to utilise up to 36 patch effects, up to 9 variations being available for use at the same time, and then to edit those patches and save the variations you design. There are even sites on the internet where you can download...

The Zoom 707II
Review of Zoom GFX-707 by
Darkhodge
Advantages: Cheap, Simple to Use
Disadvantages: Quality of effects aren't great
...The Zoom 707 II is the slightly newer version of the 707. It has everything the 707 has plus the ability to insert a smart media card, which you can use to longer record samples, and/or exchange patches (the name given to the setting of the pedal, i.e. distortion, reverb settings etc...) on the internet.
I bought the pedal several years ago when I had just started playing the guitar at a price of around 150 pounds. It comes with the unit itself and instruction manuals. If I remember correctly I had to purchase the power unit myself, but this was only around 5 pounds. The pedal can however be powered by 4 AA batteries instead.
With 74 different effect ypes I feel this pedal provides more than enough for the beginner guitarist. There is a huge range of things you can do with this little pedal - the guitar signal goes through...

RP12 Guitar effects
Review of Digitech RP12 Multi Effects by
rowemg
Advantages: all in one unit
Disadvantages: need to learn how to get the right sounds
...The digitech RP12 is a floor based multi effects unit for guitar with the ability to store sounds and call them up quickly and easily.
The range of effects is vast and they cann be combined to create a good range of sounds.
You store the sounds in banks and they can be accessed through the floor pedal board.
The effect quality is very good and the programming of the sounds is easy. You get 64 standard settings and can set 64 more
The manual gives a good start to the unit and allows you to get into the creation of effects quickly. The best way to learn to use it is to have a go and you soon will pick it up.
At the cost it is agood unit with a great range.
effects include distortion, eq, phaser, comprssor/limiter, echo, reverb...

Ready To Rock?...Guitar Hero 3! Legends of Rock
Review of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Xbox 360) by
Rampant_Ross
Advantages: Hours of fun, insane tracks
Disadvantages: Not enough tracks to download...not much story
...in this game is the 'Les Paul wireless controller'. Finally its wireless! Now you can really rock, you can jump around the room; do twists and slides across the room, just what we've always wanted!
On first glance the guitar looks dull and boring but then you realise that you have stickers! Now you can customise the look of your guitar and really make it look good.
Also covers for the guitar can be bought and used in the same way as face plates for the 'Xbox 360.' there are 4 covers that I have found but I am sure there are more, the ones I have found are the following:
# 'Union Jack'
# 'French Flames'
# 'Roberto'
# 'Backyard Babies''
These can be found on play.com and bought for £9.99 each, quite cheap and an effective way of making your guitar stand out and suit your style of rock.
I have found one...

Guitar shop online for the technically clueless.
Review of Regent Guitars by
JonnyWigan
Advantages: Easy to use. Inviting and friendly.
Disadvantages: The press reviews section is not yet working fully
...such as Zoom, Peavey, Fender, Marshall, Shure, Gibson, Roland, Yamaha etc etc.
There’s also a custom shop, whereby you can speak to the technicians and order a custom guitar, or get your existing guitar modified. (They also offer refretting services, repairs etc. and can advise on the best set up or modification for your current model, and can do paint-work / guitar art work to order).
All in all, it’s a really professional set up and will cater for even the most demanding customer.
******************************************************
EXTRA USEFUL FEATURES:
Left hander mailing list – how much would Hendrix have given for that? Entitled ‘Lefty?’ if you’re a left handed player and can’t find what you want on the side, you can subscribe to a mailing list and you’ll be emailed each time a new left handed guitar comes into stock...

Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock!?
Review of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Xbox 360) by
Rogue-XIII
Advantages: Online play and easier pull offs and hammer ons.
Disadvantages: Track list is hardly "Rock" few songs are likable. Guitar Hero 2 is better
...for a wireless guitar did not seem worth it to me. Nothing worse than running out of power halfway through a difficult song.
ACHIEVEMENTS
I would not usually bring up the achievements section in a review as the achievements rarely affect the game play. However in guitar hero 3 the achievements have been made stupidly hard. I'm guessing this is because guitar hero 2 had a few achievements that were difficult and they wanted to provide more of a challenge.
SHOULD I BUY!?
If you really have to buy the game then go for it. It is still an OK game but I think it will probably be going down in price very soon. The more cost effective way of buying the game would be to buy Guitar hero 2 with the guitar, which is better anyway, and buy guitar hero 3 as the game only when it goes down in price. On eBay the game is already around £25 with the buy...
